So I see there is a brand-new Duke and Duchess of Sussex website. Very glossy.

But the self-aggrandising! I just read Meghan’s bio and - cringe - it was the worst of LinkedIn. Sometimes less is more!

I think H & M are becoming indefensible - you couldn't make it up. On this thread I see only 3 main tactics from their fans: digression to criticise the RF for irrelevant things, 'You don't know them!' and 'Why do you care/Why are you frothing?' It's becoming a bit pathetic!

You forgot 'you're all obsessed!' that's reared its head a few times lately.

I have heard people say why is the queen allowing this to happen. The British people are holding on to the song Rule Britannia. I don't think we need a royal family it's outdated and holding us back. The money could be used to educate people and create a better future.

If she only looked different but acted exactly the same then yes they would. Its her personality & behaviour that people don't like

IIRC, H & M are contracted by their publisher to write the following books: (1) H's autobiography, (2) M's autobiography (there is some speculation that she is waiting for her father to die before she does this), (3) a book on their life together and (4) a book on parenting.

A word that's been beated into meaninglessness by droning repetition on both sides of the debate. You'd think that with such a rich and complex language at their disposal people could come up with another word, wouldn't you?

If Meghan wants to be a princess, she'll have to be Princess Henry, because that's who she is, since she's princess only by virtue of her marriage. I can't see her going for that.

Not American but since you ask pretty obviously the answer is yes, lots, e.g. out of SFO and LAX.

However AFAIK there's direct service between Santa Barbara (the nearest airport to Montecito) and Vancouver..

Many don’t hate them, I have sympathy in some ways as they made fundamental mistakes and are constantly trying to recover. They left the royal family with no financial experience of actually financing a royal household and Harrys belief he would be supported by the monarchy for living and security needs. The need for money has set the tone for how people now view them, I will always think the book and Netflix was slimy and over egged and Harry became the media he hates, no different to the piers and Dan Wooten’s, he sold stories for cash, but it got him the money they needed but it came at a cost.

You want to out Harry and Meghan because they don't fit. You want to keep the rest of the royal family including Andrew and keep Rule Britannia because obviously it makes you feel strong. Got it 👍

You might support the monarchy or you might not, but we're all allowed a view on the behaviour of two very publicity-hungry people whose only claim to fame is that they were once part of the RF. What would they be without that connection, whether you are a supporter of the RF or not?

I would not have given H & M a second thought if they'd gone to California and lived a quiet, private life. But they don't want to do that - they want us to think about them!

I also think they're very entitled, for different reasons, to special transport, extreme luxury, privacy when it suits them, incredibly expensive clothing (M) and ridiculously expensive hobbies (H). Playing polo for charity...pull the other one. Oh, and though they both claim to dislike the RF and the institution, they don't half rely on it for pretty much everything they do. And using their titles in a republic which fought for its freedom from the British crown 240 years ago. Bet neither of them know much about history, politics or much else! Silly pair.

Yes, it was a text when I did English A level. Apart from that, IMO connecting Orwell's fiction to people's opinions about the Sussexes is such a reach I'm surprised you haven't permanently strained a muscle group.
