New Sussex website

So I see there is a brand-new Duke and Duchess of Sussex website. Very glossy.

But the self-aggrandising! I just read Meghan’s bio and - cringe - it was the worst of LinkedIn. Sometimes less is more!

“I admire Meghans ability to pick herself up and carry on. However I don’t admire her habit of using other people. Her uncle got her an internship and she couldn’t even give him an invitation to her wedding. Then she had the cheek to put this on her website. I don’t understand that mindset.”

It’s the mindset of a user

some people think it’s fine but it doesn’t sit well with a lot of us

wildernesssw · 13/02/2024 15:43

@Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain anyone who references Katherine Howard and Dereham in a thread like this is a hero to me!

whatistheworld · 13/02/2024 15:44

why do you care??? just move on!!!

Is it true that there’s a page on the new website about their work ‘serving the monarchy’? I saw something on twitter

Must be a very short page!

You’re welcome. But they tie in nicely I think… Grin.

Hahaha it is a bit OTT and cringe

But at the same time I love that they are referring to ‘living with their children Prince Archie and Princes Lilibet’ And how angry it makes people 🤣 Who really cares?

That doesn't make people angry. It just confirms that Harry and Meghan are absolutely royalist - how important titles, status and privilege are to them. They're raising their children in California, yet styling them Prince and Princess. It's very indicative of how central being royal is to them. Hence the Coat of Arms.

SidekickSylvia · 13/02/2024 15:49

Roussette · 13/02/2024 13:42

Eh? What's of their own making? This thread? The media? The press Meghan has had over the years has all been warranted, is that what you're saying?
Really not.

Errr... no. Not everyone is beyond outraged you know. Yes, there are flaws with their website but it really isn't the crime of the century.

It's not outrage, it's ridicule. Of course it's not the crime of the century, but it is certainly ridiculous. Big difference.

mrsmingleton · 13/02/2024 15:49

Why do they tell us they are living with their children? Isn't that normal?

Grifting off the royal “Tidles “ yet kicking dirt in the Royal’s direction?
Hypocrisy at it’s finest.
Odious couple of chancers.

Yep, spectacularly ridiculous as only the Sussexes do so very well. I wonder if they piss themselves laughing at their delusions of grandeur.

And yet when she went to the block her regret was Culpeper, not Dereham 😵

Both of them said it! I think it's to emphasise Prince and Princess. That's the important part.

Isn’t that a huge dig at RF past and present who sent their kids off to boarding schools or were hardly around and used nannies, governesses etc to parent their kids as opposed to H&M having them living with them.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/02/2024 15:55

Seems with these bios they are trying to create gravitas. True gravitas though speaks for itself, it doesn't need to pitch. Can you imagine Michelle Obama putting out a bio including where she interned before law school? Or what volunteer projects she was involved in early in her law career?

Exactly - though I'm not sure what the website says that hasn't already been said, admittedly with even more flannel this time

I guess it'll depend on what gets added to it in time, but there's little on Archewell beyond silly platitudes, so whether this'll be any different remains to be seen

At least it answers whether Harry's still linked to BetterUp though - I think someone was asking about that the other day?

Ooooh, so they are copying W&K???? 😂

Parisiennes · 13/02/2024 15:58

If they were doing well, whatever that means to them, they'd not need to advertise.

People would be clamouring for them.

And it's a poor website.

Bestselling (books) are written as Best Selling and Bestselling.

Some copywriter needs to make up their mind.

I’d understand that from KC pov tbh. He’s Harry’s father and loves him. But I can’t see Camilla or William or Catherine being happy about it tbh!

It’s got nothing to do with William and Saint Catherine though. Last time I checked he wasn’t King yet

It's called being a self centered narc, uses and abuses people then throws them away ... except with the RF she's still using them after she's got her 'D'H to bin them off --- but she's still happy to drape herself all over any envelope opening ceremony (invited or otherwise) and promote herself ... living with Prince A and Princess L = a chance to rub herself all over their labels 🙄

JudgeJ · 13/02/2024 16:05

I am retired now but clearly I missed a trick when applying for jobs . For instance I never mentioned I was school long jump champion in 1973 nor did I mention I won a couple of beauty competitions ( remember them?) in the 1970s.

I too am retired but I deeply regret not mentioning more about my jobs such as sorting bad cornflakes and packing goods for a catalogue company back in the '60s.

I remember being amazed in my young days when an actor I had seen in a drama series (anyone remember By the Sword Divided? A civil war drama series!) turned up in a washing powder commercial a couple of years later. Why not? I am sure if something more prestigious had come along she wouldn't have done the commercial, but if you want an acting career you take the work you are offered.

I still get shocked when I see Dame Judi Dench peddling insurance!
