So Harry flew for 11 hours and then spoke to his father for 45 minutes ? Charles then bobbed to Sandringham by helicopter and Harry checked into a hotel. I mean wouldn't you think Harry would have gone to Sandringham with Charles maybe ?

I don't know what was discussed between C and H prior to this visit so there's no point speculating.

What I do think is that the optics of it don't look good for H.

When you've publicly trashed your family, playing the public "look how supportive I am card" is really grating, especially when (again) it's announced in a flurry of PR and done in a high profile way.

I don't blame C and W for keeping him at arms length. He and M are total loose cannons who seize any and every opportunity to monetise their royal connections at any cost, whist failing to hold themselves to the standards they criticise others for not meeting.

I can't fathom why some people keep supporting them in the face of considerable evidence of their lies, evasion and at times, pure malice.

H could have issued a simple statement saying he'd spoken to his father to wish him well and was looking forward to meeting with him soon.

Frankly if he really cared about his father it would be a nice thing to arrange for him to spend time with his grandchildren....he doesn't seem to think that requires any urgency does he?

It's all just fodder for the next instalment of Spare/another documentary. He will get a whole chapter out of this/15 mins of air time.

The creation of drama and action for $$$.

Harry and Megan should never have put out a statement saying he was coming over snd then notified the press so they could see him leaving lax and arriving in the uk, . They went in hard to publicise it. And that will be a large part of the issue the palace has. The fact that Megan and Harry went full throttle on the publicity.

Maybe a statement saying pleased to spend some time and wish him well or something, to try to save face. But it’s bad backfired on him publicity wise.

Hasn’t it kinda transpired he is invited to stay with the family…father and grandmother when she was alive - not brother, anytime he is over but what he really wants is to stay in palace of choice for free? Not to to one they are at to actually be with them. If my parent had cancer - even if it was confident to be okay - I would cherish a week in the country just to be with them at that time. He doesn’t even have a job.

Harry's 'Office' are the only people to make a public statement. Presumably to reinforce the royal connection.

The rest of the family just continued with the usual family relationships.

That was the rumour. And a picture of Lilibet was weirdly realised for her 1st birthday. I mean how much would a picture of the two of them stolen that whole jubilee. I actually thought a picture of the whole family would have been amazing for the jubilee but given Hwpulsnt have been in it they probably decided not.

That was for 90th with all great grands at time. Other two were pics taken of Phillips and Wales grandchildren in Scotland because they traditionally holidayed their together. But I thought they may perhaps have released a whole family one but they wouldn’t have gotten Harry so may have looked insensitive. At every other jubilee there was a family picture taken. Archie and Lilibet don’t know their cousins. Archie may have seen the Wales children a couple of times when a small baby.

Probably cost cutting after the loss of the Spotify/Netflix deals 🤷‍♀️.

Far cheaper to release a public statement about your "mercy flight" and let the paparazzi do the photography for free...

who would meet him though? He obviously didn’t make any moves to go see any of them either. Works both ways. He may have had dinner with a family member or friend last night. But his cousins have either kids in school or very young children, jobs etc. He has a damaged relationship with brother. Harry really doesn’t have many people Leeds. He himself said he lost friends too.

God some of the people on this thread are vile a totally lacking in human kindness. I hope you or a loved one never have cancer. Of course your child would want to see you, as do all your friends and loved ones. Having cancer is terrifying, not just for you but for those around you.

I do think Harry is very impulsive and headstrong, with a hefty dose of entitlement thrown in the mix, he seems to lack the ability to see the other persons side, ie Charles in this instance, and lacks the ability to foresee the impact of his actions. Hence why he gets it so wrong, so often. A lack of empathy.

so In that I can see why he’s done as he’s done. Rushing over whether Charles felt it appropriate or not.

it’s the notifying the press that is out of character, the statement they put out then making sure the paps knew and his arrival fully publicised.

im not sure but I think that maybe Megan’s jam, not Harry’s. I don’t think he’d have considered notifying the press in the hefty manner done, both sides of the pond.

i dunno. I just can’t see it. I can see Harry saying right I’m going over, I need to be there etc, but I just can’t see him saying and I feel I need to put out a statement and then notify the paps so it’s in all the news.

plenty of famous Americans can get about with being photographed and not have photographers camped outside their house. it's well known that attention seeking famous people will inform who they need to, to get papped getting into the car or wherever.

Ruminating on the coverage this morning, I wonder if it's suddenly occurring to Harry what it might be like for him when William is King. Given the late Queen and Prince Philip both made old bones, there's always been an assumption that Charles might have a good few years on the throne even taking over at 75. Obviously we hope he recovers, but in the tragic event that he doesn't, Harry's going to have to contend with the brother he's estranged from assuming the throne. I've always felt William is far more like Philip in character than Charles in that he doesn't suffer fools. If Harry continues his path of denigrating the family, I could easily imagine William stripping him and Meghan of their titles.

Also, it doesn't sound like he used his spare time at the hotel to even catch up with an old mate for a beer. How sad.

Well I think one person said she paid. You don’t pay for paps. You call their umbrella agency and say Megan is leaving at x time if you wish a photo.

in this instance they were likely hanging round though as they will know harry is on his way back So it’s likely she saw them and took the opp to go out and get photographed.
