So Harry flew for 11 hours and then spoke to his father for 45 minutes ? Charles then bobbed to Sandringham by helicopter and Harry checked into a hotel. I mean wouldn't you think Harry would have gone to Sandringham with Charles maybe ?

Well it’s being reported now Harry’s visit was off his own bat and the palace, Charles wasn’t happy about it. To be honest, I buy that, I think this was the worst possible timing for Harry to come over, straight after the announcement, making it all about him, when his father is a week past surgery and just had his first cance4 treatment, and just announced to the public.

finding out Harry was going to suddenly do a very quick flying visit, with max publicity,and for as short a time as possible, and not want a discreet visit to sandringham in a few days, would have me unhappy to. I can see why they’d be disturbed by the behaviour again.

Well the Sussexes flew to Costa Rica for a holiday without the fanfare and publicity recently so I imagine it’s pretty easy when it suits them.

Wow I don't think much of Harry, but I'm shocked at some of the comments here. Of course if you loved your father and found out he had cancer you would rush to see him. Why would you even consider the 'optics'. Imagine if Charles died and Harry didn't get to see him, particularly given the way the last fee years have been. These are still real people remember with thoughts and feelings

I think he'd have been criticised if he hadn't come, tbh. Charles probably said 'don't be silly, no need to come' but Harry might have insisted, knowing that if he didn't, the press would heavily criticise 'Charles diagnosed with cancer and Harry nowhere to be seen' - you can picture the headlines. They'd have had a field day.

I really don’t think he would have, Charles isn’t at deaths door. He could easily have leaked he’s coming over in a couple of weeks when Charles is settled and less tired.

It’s so distasteful isn’t it, they even made sure rhe press knew when etc so they could be sure of media coverage then tried to sneak out back home.

i think it’s the self importance of it. Charles has cancer. So Harry and Megan immediately publicly announce he will be heading over to be with him, and notify the media of all the details , so he gets maximum coverage.,

if Charles hadn’t fucked off so publicly they’d prob tried to have spin it about him being the support. It’s actually sick.

Charles would of course told him he didn’t need to dash over, the last thing he will have wanted was a fuss. Harry and Meghan though would have thought it was a great idea for some headlines.

Who will have organized the motorcade that surrounded Harry? Would the palace have arranged that?

Surely PH could have just got a car organized to drive him via the VIP area at LHR. Why did he need a motorcade?

I I applaud 45min slot .. Harry hasn’t demonstrably proven he deserves any extra airtime tbh. It’s all risk prevention..

I know I have already said this on another thread but when I received my cancer diagnosis I didn’t tell my adult DC immediately. When I did they all wanted to rush to see me but I needed time to come to terms with everything . And treatment can be brutal .
My DC accepted that as they aren’t selfish , publicity seeking twats.

I think the palace notifies the home office, but yes. It was way over the top. Suspect he demanded it, part of the show. And rhe home office as they are mid fight went to town. I dunno some politics going on there as it was way over the top and looked bad.

I also think smart move from Charles. If this is how it’s now being portrayed, Harry came without invite and against Charles wishes to do so immediately after the announcement, effectively leveraging his illness for publicity, Charles leaving so publicly and so quickly after the meeting, put Harry right back in his box that Charles wasn’t going to let him do this.

I don't think Harry is in a position to demand a motorcade but I agree it looked ridiculous. He holds no official role. Why does he need a motorcade? Other royals manage to get to the airport without one.

Maybe he came over to sign something? Perhaps taking him off the line of succession?
