Does anyone know where Prince William is?

Errrrr….. where’s Willy? The press focus in the past 24 hours has been perplexing. King Charles’ diagnostic has been the top item, of course. But, bizarrely, the 2nd item has almost invariably been… Prince Harry this and that and the other. Prince HARRY??? What’s with the obsession with him? This should be about Prince WILLIAM! Yet from/about him, absolute silence. What on Earth is going on?

And please don’t start with the “he has to be at his wife’s bedside”. If Harry The Not Next In Line To The Throne And Not Counsellor of State And Can’t Stand In For The King etc etc can fly all the way from Montecito, then William The next King and He Who Should Stand In For King Charles can go visit his Dad in hospital (did he?), rush to be by his dad’s bedside (did he?), make announcements about which official duties he will take up, etc etc.

I know Prince Harry is the one the media are addicted to writing about and slagging off to drive clicks, but can they (and so many on these boards) perhaps take a break from their unhealthy obsession with H (&M) and keep the spotlight where most would expect it to be, on King Charles and, in particular, his successor Prince William?

[Title should read does anyone know...]

Me too @wildernesssw 👀

goodbyestranger · 11/02/2024 14:55

I'm astonished that anyone can even try and argue about cheese on a rf thread!

"A helicopter is too good and comfortable for you, Kingy - donkey or penny farthing only".

Poor sod ...a penny farthing 😂

AliceOlive · 11/02/2024 14:57

Not sure where you lived or shopped. I’m sure that’s how you feel based on your experience. But I think it’s as ill-informed as the long standing stereotypes about English food.

I’m quite happy to see the word vile used to describe food and not people in these parts.

wildernesssw · 11/02/2024 13:13

Something along these lines might just be acceptable. But it's borderline...

Oh my I missed so many funny things.

Mylovelygreendress · 11/02/2024 14:59

Am I the only one who is scratching their head in disbelief at certain posts ??

mrsmingleton · 11/02/2024 14:59

These are my husband's faves in Red Lobster - the cheddar bay biscuits 😂

Does anyone know where Prince William is?
jeffgoldblum · 11/02/2024 15:00

Ohh is that like a cheese scone??? @mrsmingleton !

Mylovelygreendress · 11/02/2024 15:02

Wow they look fabulous @mrsmingleton

AliceOlive · 11/02/2024 15:02

I grew up in Kentucky and had access to lovely cheese because my grandmother kept a ton of it in her house. She wasn’t buying it in Kroger though, I suspect. And she also enjoyed her trips to France. Having done a bit of travel myself I’ll proudly say I think I know good cheese and it’s become easier to get it at least where I live.

You get a free basket in Red Lobster while waiting on your food and more if you want. I know that there are food snobs who will say "Red Lobster WTF " but I love it - love the lobster pizza but. my favourites are the coconut shrimp with the Pina colada sauce.

But who was arguing?

jeff told me off quite curtly I thought.

goodbyestranger · 11/02/2024 15:08

While at the same time failing to notice that I had written in the past tense.

A little bit of Kurt for us all...

AliceOlive · 11/02/2024 15:16

We were having a nice conversation about cheese and you called American cheese vile and revolting. Institute argument and you will usually find someone to push back as you did. Does everything have to be negative here?

jeffgoldblum · 11/02/2024 15:18

Excellent giff @mrsmingleton , I'm not adverse to a bit of downy junior ! , however he's all yours in exchange for a basket of cheesy goodies.

jeffgoldblum · 11/02/2024 15:20

And everyone can trust me here , I may seem fairly laid back , but if I'm going to tell you off you will really know about it !!!🤣
Oh and by all means that includes @goodbyestranger.

AliceOlive · 11/02/2024 15:21

I can imagine getting shuffled off to Kentucky would be very difficult. Unless you were in Lexington or Louisville but even then it would be lonely. I believe you about the cheese. I think it was more a sourcing problem than anything, but I’d be sad without cheese in my life.

goodbyestranger · 11/02/2024 15:23

I did find cheese in America absolutely revolting. Although a small but vocal group of people have taken over the thread with all this stuff about cheese it remains the fact that it's not ok to hijack a thread in that way. I chucked in a view based on my personal experience, framed it in the past tense and then boom. The OP, TallerSally, has had her points completely drowned out. I think MN likes threads to keep vaguely to the point of the original post. This cheese stuff is just another ploy to derail. There's absolutely no reason whatsoever why you guys can't set up a cheese thread in Chat or AIBU. But here it's purpose seems to be to avoid any talk about the rf. Perhaps one should return to TallerSally's post and you do your stuff on a more appropriate purpose built thread.

AliceOlive · 11/02/2024 15:25

It seems you are also interested in discussing cheese! I’ll gladly join a thread if you start one. Are we allowed to create off topic threads under RF?

Kentucky was wonderful, especially in May. We were on an enormous army base so it was extremely sociable. Not too far from Louisville. My first daughter's middle name is Louise for Louisville.

AliceOlive · 11/02/2024 15:26

Yeah, Fort Knox. I figured. I wouldn’t try to buy cheese there.
