What, you reckon William's murdered her and buried her under the patio?

Wouldn't that be the terrace, MrsD - you know, with balustrades and stone heraldic emblems and peacocks strutting about?
I'd have thought "patio" would be considered a bit common in such circles Wink

Delphigirl · 06/02/2024 11:58

@stringagal who are you trying to kid?

We, the GBP, made this man walk behind his mother's coffin at age 15 and greet complete strangers, hysterically wailing at him about how upset they were that his mum died.

How about we don't make him discuss his wife's health issues publicly unless they both agree with that?

It was the Firm that made him do that.

Nowhere have I suggested that he discuss his wife’s health issues.

But him standing up to a microphone outside Windsor Castle, or Kensington Palace to say: “On behalf of my wife and I, I’d like to thank everyone for the well wishes we’ve received from around the world. Catherine is recovering at home, and looking forward to resuming her duties when she’s fully recovered.”

If nothing else, that would shut down the idiotic fevered speculation that the POW is in a coma / battered to within an inch of her life by him / merely just AWOL hatching her divorce negotiations with her mother.

She’s a constitutional figure. So is he. I know it’s hard for him but he’s being entirely limp.

I can’t believe the overwhelming interest in a very old man’s cancer diagnosis - not surprising given his age - and the total lack of interest in the whereabouts and health of the much younger princess of wales - very surprising. As is her total silence, the disappearance and silence of her problematic husband, and the total silence and apparent lack of inquisitiveness of the British press in a woman who has not been seen for 6 weeks where the foreign press is reporting she has been in a coma. It is like there are ten alarms and flashing red lights going off about her but everyone is ignoring them because they have been distracted by an old man blowing bubbles in the corner.

Nasty.

themessygarden · 06/02/2024 12:00

I too wonder why Harry announced he was coming to visit his father immediately, if he really wanted to see him straight away he could easily have arrived privately and discreetly, we know he is quite adept at not making comments when he wants to. I wonder if he is feeling slightly guilty now after everything he threw at his father and his family.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 06/02/2024 12:01

as for the patio, don’t be willfully stupid

Poster who reads and credits anything said by the foreign gutter press calls me stupid.

Three l's in wilfully, BTW.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/02/2024 12:01

When we lived in Copenhagen I couldn't get over the amount of bags with the Danish Royals on the cover frequently - and they have a very understated royal family! It's not uniquely British - it's simply done to feed people's desire it seems for 'celebrity' gossip

Dammit, you're right, it would. Showing my pleb roots there. 😅

chaosmaker · 06/02/2024 12:03

Isn't this story just taking up more important news items? A cancer diagnoses is terrible for anyone but it's hardly newsworthy.

LittleGlowingOblong · 06/02/2024 12:03

Janetime · 06/02/2024 11:51

Why are you baffled, are you somehow under the impression Kate is not permitted to make her own decisions on what she reveals about her health publicly? Or that they can’t ask the media to back off and they comply? What exactly is baffling you?

The difference in coverage by the press. And the difference between William’s behaviour and Camilla’s behaviour. And why Camilla reported that she’d visited Charles in hospital, but not Camilla. And why the Royal convoy was sighted driving towards the Clinic on 28 December.

The Royal Family live by optics, by media manipulation, by PR. The silence is creating a vacuum for speculation, and nothing’s happening to fill it. Some media now even beginning to hint it will take PoW 6-9 months to recover.

Delphigirl · 06/02/2024 12:03

Very interesting that few of you will address my point and instead spout nonsense or shout “nasty!” In a childish fashion. @LittleGlowingOblong excepted. Well let’s see what transpires.

Lochroy · 06/02/2024 12:04

Delphigirl · 06/02/2024 11:54

If Kate was able to say anything at all she would have authorised some statement of well wishes for her father in law. It seems obvious to infer that she hasn’t because she can’t. When are they going to admit to the truth of the seriousness of her condition? They can’t distract us with drip-feeds about Charles health and nonsense attacks on Meghan forever, surely. Why has Sunak given public well-wishes for the king’s recovery but been entirely silent about the princess of wales?

Seriously - how do people manage to make up quite so much shit.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 06/02/2024 12:04

You reckon the surgeon slipped and accidentally sewed her mouth up?

I KNOW I shouldn't laugh, but....

Delphigirl · 06/02/2024 12:06

What have I made up?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/02/2024 12:06

If nothing else, (a statement from William) would shut down the idiotic fevered speculation that the POW is in a coma / battered to within an inch of her life by him / merely just AWOL hatching her divorce negotiations with her mother

I honestly doubt it, @LittleGlowingOblong. The kind of folk who make this sort of stuff up are rarely dissuaded and just move on to something else ... "William looked really worried / he's obviously lying / some gesture was code for such-and-such" and so on without end

Lochroy · 06/02/2024 12:07

Presuming that Kate is obviously not in a coma, this would be an opportunity to offer some sign of convalescence to the public. This is the same woman who stood outside of a hospital right after giving birth in full makeup and heels. If she really wanted to, she could definitely manage to give the public a single gesture even if it's a personal message or image. W&K have always handled their PR very well, giving the press (and the people) peeks into their life and their kids. Everything seems to have gone off the rails this time

No, it really hasn't. They have released statements, which very clearly state the timings, that the over-invested like you should have the decency to understand effectively mean "please fuck off until then".

I'm willing to wager that what will transpire is Catherine will resume royal duties around Easter, and never discuss what happened during the three-ish-month interlude. As is her right. What more information are you looking for?

Delphigirl · 06/02/2024 12:08

We don’t know how William looks or what he has said or how he has gestured because he has not been seen or heard for weeks. That’s the point.

What point? How do you know the Princess can’t say anything as opposed to doesn’t want to say anything (aside from the surgeon slipping 😜). You are just making stuff up so why would anyone reply to your “point”?

Roussette · 06/02/2024 12:08

themessygarden · 06/02/2024 11:52

I guess as soon as they told Harry and Meghan, they knew they had to announce it to the public, otherwise it would have likely been another scoop for Omid.

Oh don't be so ridiculous!

This will have been a carefully managed exercise. Family first. Then a thought out statement to the public.

Yes, the lack of best wishes from Sunak
to the future Queen is so odd. They are not even fabricating well-wishes from her to the King. And Camilla didn’t visit her in the Clinic.

The Royal Family is basically a scripted reality show with expensive production values… and the script has broken down.

Lochroy · 06/02/2024 12:10

To be fair to @themessygarden , amongst an absolute ton of batshit nonsense in this thread, the suggestion of the threat of a leak via Scobie isn't entirely without merit.

Delphigirl · 06/02/2024 12:06

What have I made up?

That she can’t speak. As opposed to doesn’t want to. You don’t know anything. You have surmised. As for not seeing William, he is out and about tomorrow so you can have a gander then

Wasn’t Kate in the same clinic as Charles? How do you know Camilla didn’t pop in while she was on one of her many visits?
