Indifference to PoW?

I find it strange that there’s no real interest or concern from the public about POW being in hospital. Nobody seems to be that bothered. If you compare it to the circus if Diana had been in the same situation….. I just find it odd. I always thought she was relatively popular because we’re constantly told she is but actually…. Tumbleweed.

I know it’s her own business etc but it just feels quite odd that somebody can disappear and there is no interest in why. I don’t really know or care what’s happened or why, but the silence is really intriguing. It reminds me of when the brexit referendum happened and I had no idea that there was such strong feeling about the EU…. I had no idea that there was such apathy about the PoW until now. It’s been a real eye opener for me.

I reckon the next generation or two, the monarchy will be gone.

And can't you see how awful that sounds? You 'just mentioned' something really nasty and damaging 'in passing' and don't expect people to scrutinise this malicious rumour, or to pull you up on it?

CoffeeCantata no I don't see it's awful at all I'm afraid. The law of defamation provides the defence of justification and since I happen to strongly believe that William is a cheat I'm quite comfortable that any comment I make to that effect is justified. Your view is that this is a malicious rumour, other people (including myself) do not.

If people remain polite I can't quite see why the thread would be deleted. Any personal attacks can be picked off if anyone offended chooses to report. There certainly does seem to be a tactic by the more ardent monarchists to start arguments to get threads deleted but MN is doing a great job of not being tripped up by that any more.

Well this is the thing. The rf are so entitled yet such schmucks it's just incredible to me that they expect people to fawn.

Perhaps I need to re-iterate: you are very welcome not to cast William as a cheat. I'm amused that there's no reciprocity though and that for some reason I'm being pressured to say that I don't believe it to be a fact, merely a rumour. That's not my position I'm afraid.

Why are you still banging on (pun intended) about it though? Does it give you some sort of pleasure to insist that the man is a cheat? I don't even care how you think you know. Unless of course William told you. Which I very seriously doubt.
