Indifference to PoW?

I find it strange that there’s no real interest or concern from the public about POW being in hospital. Nobody seems to be that bothered. If you compare it to the circus if Diana had been in the same situation….. I just find it odd. I always thought she was relatively popular because we’re constantly told she is but actually…. Tumbleweed.

I know it’s her own business etc but it just feels quite odd that somebody can disappear and there is no interest in why. I don’t really know or care what’s happened or why, but the silence is really intriguing. It reminds me of when the brexit referendum happened and I had no idea that there was such strong feeling about the EU…. I had no idea that there was such apathy about the PoW until now. It’s been a real eye opener for me.

I reckon the next generation or two, the monarchy will be gone.

So sorry to read about The King .

i was also reading that William is returning to Royal duties on Wednesday so hoping that means that Catherine is recovering 🤞

goodbyestranger · 05/02/2024 18:10

Not great to be diagnosed with any form of cancer but his treatment has started at pace - as you'd expect. And he'll get the best possible treatment anyone anywhere in the world could access.

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2024 18:11

I’m sure the Queen will do him proud meantime.

Most families have the luxury of rallying round and taking a wee back seat for a while.

The other members of the RF should be able to do likewise until they gather themselves.

It is the word isn’t it? Rocks most people initially. Just speaking personally of course.

Yes to this. Absolutely.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 05/02/2024 18:12

Oh that’s awful. Poor Charles.

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2024 18:14

You just don’t wish it on anyone but I’m glad they think the outcome will be a positive one.

That is a heavy load for the Queen and William - not just in the form of duties. Poor souls.

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2024 18:16

As you say Rousette, he will get the best care.

The care my family have had over the years has been astounding.

Maireas · 05/02/2024 18:19

Poor Charles. I hope the treatment is effective and rapid.

jeffgoldblum · 05/02/2024 18:22

Oh my! , I was off doing kid duty and this!
How awful 😢

wildernesssw · 05/02/2024 18:23

Wow, just find out from this thread. Hopefully it has been caught early and there is a good prognosis.

That is good to hear. It just hits home if you've had a close member of the family struck down with the awful disease that cancer is.

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2024 18:32

Thank you Rousette. Sadly rife in our family.

But I cannot complain about the treatment that has been available. It was/is magnificent.

Magnanimous of Harry to come to see Charles. A very swift and decisive gesture. All credit to him.

Of course he’s his father

Who wouldn’t?

EasternStandard · 05/02/2024 18:54

I felt quite shocked hearing it on the news

goodbyestranger · 05/02/2024 18:54

It's not a given. All decent children would.

jeffgoldblum · 05/02/2024 18:54

Poor Charles , my jokes were just in fun but I do feel bad now !

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2024 18:57

Don’t feel bad jeff

Laughter is a lovely thing.

It is a beautiful antidote to nastiness.

jeffgoldblum · 05/02/2024 18:58

Cheers Arc , I've always thought Charles was ok , and they seem to be having a bad run of luck lately!

Do you not mean magnanimous of Charles to see him ?

Me too Arcane. I had breast cancer during lockdown and it was treated swiftly. Regarding Charles it would have better to have had prostate cancer because it's easily contained these days. My DF had it for decades.

wildernesssw · 05/02/2024 19:19

I would hope that the diagnosis has given everyone a reminder about what is important, and put any perceived grievances in perspective.

If it brings about a reconciliation then that is a positive

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2024 19:20

Derxa

I hope you are recovering well. 🌻
