Spot on, @Mylovelygreendress - for once Harry should remember it's not all about him.

Mylovelygreendress · 07/02/2024 16:48

Exactly .
And saying he would be happy to meet with William after all the shit he ( and Meghan) have thrown at William and Catherine . On what planet is he living that he thinks they would want to meet him !?

RhubarbGingerJam · 07/02/2024 16:52

Harry gave him the same amount of time as the coronation. Good for him

Really not sure what this actually means.

The coronation was 1-5 to 2 hours guests had to be in place before - that not same amount of time as 30 min meeting - 45 minutes in same building.

If you mean Harry didn't get to interact more than 30 minutes on Coronation day - well it was a busy day for RF - a huge state occasion - and there are reports his family were big taken aback he didn't say in UK longer.

An 11 hour flight for a 30 to 45 min meeting seems very inefficient especially to leave next day - but I'd do it for my parents if I was worried though I'd get a warmer welcome - does suggest to me perhaps the King and Harry relationship is much worse state than I thought.

mrsmingleton · 07/02/2024 16:54

Harry is back and forward like a fly to shit when he needs a bit of "Royal fix".

Have you received a cancer diagnosis? I have . It was a shock as I was been checked for something completely different . I was numb for days and although my DC wanted to rush to me, I needed time to l accept the diagnosis. Plus chemo is brutal.
It’s not about Harry .

Perhaps that is what is classed as legendary in the aviation world these days?

Plus he will be off to Canada next week for an event to commemorate a year until the Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler. They certainly do drag these things out don't they?

jeffgoldblum · 07/02/2024 17:40

Just as you think , maybe, just maybe, I'm being uncharitable, maybe this time it's not going to be a complete, attention grabbing self grandiose, shit show ?

It's slap bang in the face with a kipper ! 🐟, that's your lot , it's business as usual 🙄.

wildernesssw · 07/02/2024 17:43

Mind you, it only took 15 minutes, from what I remember, to make sure QE2 was 'protected', so possibly in 45 minutes he was able to cure the cancer?

It’s not about Harry .

I wasn’t trying to criticize the King.

I’ve not had cancer scare but have had another medical condition with uncertain prognosis and did keep it very quiet till knew as much as possible avoid the drama lamas and catastrophising some member of my family like to engage in. A luxury I’m aware the King may not have had.

I’m also painfully aware of visit timing – as my Dad is bouncing in and out of hospital with ever worsen health but I’m mindful that I don’t want to upset or burden my Mother doing most of the caring. I’m also aware I need to fit round various medical appointments and carers – which I’d happily do – but it involves a conversation with my parents not just turning up. However if I did just turn up – I’m considerable distance way – I would expect to fit in round their needs but I would get more than 30 – to 45 minutes of their time.

As King did re-arrange his timetable to meet at all - it says to me there a problem with communication between them and thus a very poor relationship.

wildernesssw · 07/02/2024 17:52

I think a very poor relationship is very likely, given Harry's behaviour in the last 4 years...

With William, Kate and Camilla obviously - but everyone always seem to think Charles is soft and wants to forgive him and move forward.

I’ll have whatever Harry’s having

StrawberryJellyBelly · 07/02/2024 18:20

I’m no fan of the gruesome twosome but I feel for Harry today. It’s perfectly normal for a child to want to see a parent when the parent is ill even if they can only have a few minutes - at a hospital bedside for eg.

Harry wanted to see his dad so much that he took the 45 minutes he was offered and obviously doesn’t care what it must have looked like to the outside world. He’s being humiliated online and in the press but he’s taken it on the chin because all he wanted was to see his dad.

it’s all just a sad and sorry mess.

StrawberryJellyBelly · 07/02/2024 18:24

I doubt very much forgiveness comes into it. I suspect the King is at an age where the love for a child is bigger than any fall out people may have had and forgiveness isn’t necessary. It’s love that counts.

jeffgoldblum · 07/02/2024 18:26

Any sympathy I might have once felt for Harry has now evaporated like the dried up vomit in the bottom of a sick bucket!🪣
He's a victim of his own success, he's spread his verbal shite far and wide , launched his petty grievances globally and now he needs to partake in the fruits of his labour.
