Meghan, Duchess of Sussex spotted out and about, part 3

Part 3 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports. h/t @queentim for the original threads.

I really liked this outfit and the way the skirt flowed as she walked - really good choice and quite pared back compared to some other people on the red carpet.

Yes, magazines have been saying this for at least a decade. Case in point - this article's a year old next month and nada. They have yet to hit the re-emerge mainstream. And Gen Z definitely won't be picking them up - they're already trying to bring back the early 2000s.

😂

I'll leave you to it.

Yes, I have no doubt you'll be anxiously waiting for tje return of the brooch! I'll give it 10-20 years time...when millennials inherit the jewelry of their grandparents

StormzyinaTCup · 18/02/2024 22:08

Is this a brooch I see before me😂

No brooches though 🤷

We're waiting for Meghan to make them popular again!

Yes, she tends to wear them for Remembrance Day and Veteran’s Day.

Anything else?

skullbabe · 18/02/2024 22:14

Tonight has been such a laugh - I literally have added an alpaca brooch now to my birthday list. Can’t find one but will put it out there that is the year of the alpaca!

It really has. Tips hat to the humble alpaca

StormzyinaTCup · 18/02/2024 22:19

I have found this last page amusing certainly.

Keep you ears to the ground folks because you never know 2024 may well be the year the brooch does indeed make a comeback .👍😊

pipsfromthefuture · 18/02/2024 22:25

Let us hope!

As a brooch comeback and collection would mean that we could all then "appear totally royal instead of half royal."

That would be fun!

(but imagine this is an alpaca instead of a sparkly butterfly!)

I do actually have a butterfly phobia (so thanks for that😁) so I'd take an alpacca brooch everytime.

Also, why the heck would you want to appear totally royal?!? we clearly have very different aspirations😂

Yep. That art deco one would suit the Duchess. I hope The Office Of is reading this.

(Seriously that art deco brooch is lovely)

Awwww I love that!

I agree it is such a great movie! I hope you ladies have a great time rewatching together - I think I saw it/might have it forever saved to my watchlist on Disney+

TolundMan · 19/02/2024 02:31

Not keen on the big suede gauntlet gloves - looked too big, colour mismatched to coat and also OTT compared to what others were wearing for the weather? Maybe good for clapping tho....

Loved the white jeans and pale duvet coat combo earlier in the week - and the green evening dress.

TallerSally · 19/02/2024 10:12

Apparently the beige cape is also from Sentaler...

I prefer the cream alpaca coat, I'd feel just like a baby alpaca wearing that...

skullbabe · 19/02/2024 10:48

Saw that over the weekend - very kind of them to say hello to the chefs.

Aww whadda guy! I mean how clever to get in colonisation when you work in kitchen, cook food and were on about 'spices'. I bet he's been patting himself on the head ever since.

Maireas · 19/02/2024 16:19

It was a quarter of the globe, actually. Not half.

skullbabe · 19/02/2024 17:40

The gloves were a rewear - I myself am not keen on them or the colour but they looked different at different angles so probably a closer match that it looks like.

OP posts:
mrsmingleton · 19/02/2024 17:51

What's with this "rewear" word? No I don't need anyone to explain it thanks. Thank god most of us "rewear' every day 😂

skullbabe · 19/02/2024 17:59

🤷ok

OP posts:
mrsmingleton · 19/02/2024 18:24

It doesn't just cheese me off 😂when it relates to Meghan btw . It's anyone. Recycling, repeating, a rewear . It's like wearing a red lip. 😂or a handbag.
