I was already reading Michael moorcock and Stephen king ( nicked from my dad's bookshelf!) , I've always been highbrow me! 🤣

CurlewKate · 17/01/2024 12:09

@derxa You are allowed, of course, to read anything you want to. But you did say that this story was "nothing to do with the Daily Mail." I was simply pointing out that it could hardly have MORE to do with that sleazy, salacious publication.

derxa · 17/01/2024 12:08

Thanks I'll seek them out. I also read The Scottish Farmer but there's not much mention of the RF in that. Sometimes they feature Princess Anne visiting the Royal Highland Show.

I'm only recommending Heat magazine because Omid Scobie used to write for them, so they clearly have a high bar for journalism.
In the publications you read, are people regularly thrown under a bus?.

Humour doesn't work here. I give up

jeffgoldblum · 17/01/2024 12:11

The telegraph and others are also serialising the book , @derxa could have read it there !

I'm shocked I tell you. Sr Kathleen warned me about girls like you.

Marxism Today and Heat magazine, @derxa .

😂

Highgate Cemetery is starting selling off new plots next to old Karl. He's going to be surrounded by huns who read Heat!

jeffgoldblum · 17/01/2024 12:13

Don't give up @derxa ! , most of us still understand sarcasm and humour.

@derxa From the same Wiki page "Hardman has been a columnist and royal correspondent for the Daily Telegraphh and, since 2001, writes for the Daily Maill."

From the article quoted above "Charles III: New King, New Court. The Inside Story, by the Mail's writer Robert Hardman, currently being serialised exclusively in the Daily Mail."

So, nothing to do with the Daily Mail at all!

I don’t understand the point you’re making. Hartman is an author, film maker and journalist, he’s is nearly always on the bbc panel for any royal event and has published about a dozen books on the royals. He works for many publications and outlets.

Are you maybe unaware of him so thinking he’s just some mail journo? Because if so you’ve got it really very wrong, he’s a respected author, as well as a journalist etc.

Maireas · 17/01/2024 12:14

That's just as bad! Please pay attention!

jeffgoldblum · 17/01/2024 12:15

Well what can I say @Maireas ? I've always been a tear away rebel! 🤣, although I'm still angry my English teacher acused me of cheating because my story was too good and I shouldn't know about abattoir at 12 ! 😡

jeffgoldblum · 17/01/2024 12:16

Sorry didn't pay attention again!! 😳

Maireas · 17/01/2024 12:17

You knew about abattoirs at the age of 12?
I find nothing odd about that.
Now, if you'd flicked through the Daily Telegraph 🫨😲

What do you think of Dr Tessa Dunlop? She's written for the MoS recently, and also takes money for being a panelist on Piers Morgan's show. She's a very vocal H&M supporter, really dislikes the RF. Sleazy, salacious hypocrite?

Wasn't H&M's newly departed PR lady (she of the red carpet hand) working closely with the tabloids for more favourable press for H&M? Does that make H&M sleazy and salacious hypocrites too?

jeffgoldblum · 17/01/2024 12:21

I think it was because I was using the word to describe a particularly gruesome murder in my short story!!!? , but if you have been reading horror books since age 10 I don't think it's unusual 🤷‍♀️( or she was jealous of my humongous talent!🤣)

AliceOlive · 17/01/2024 12:36

@Frasers

there are also some misogyny in his comments on her, about him wanting to make sure she had the right people round her, or playing her off in spare as just sitting there doing nothing whilst his brother screamed at him and his father bullied him. There was an element of him viewing her as some old dear , rather than the very capable woman she was till the end.

I suspect Harry would never have made such a comment if his grandfather was still alive. Foolish on so many levels. The kind of guy my own grandfather would have called a “First class jackass”.

when I go out jogging or walking I always plaster a stupid grin on my face. Everyone should.

Only a matter of time before he manages to ‘plaster a stupid grin on his face’ when running I’m sure.

He has mastered plastered, grinning and sitting down after all.

Edited

How weird to take my comment literally and take the time to google pictures of Harry to find one of him grinning to link on here. Very odd

AliceOlive · 17/01/2024 12:42

I don’t think it’s odd. Many posters keep their own private stash of Harry and Meghan resource material, screenshots and montages. Veritable virtual libraries on their on computers. I just saw someone mention theirs this week.

AliceOlive · 17/01/2024 12:43

It does make me really mad to think that he would talk about protecting the Queen while doing some of the most hurtful things she probably ever endured. Having a close family member of the younger generation go to such lengths to denigrate the entire family, the monarchy and country had to be painful. How can there be anyone less culpable than her for all of it?

Odd?

No more odd than taking only the things one wishes to from the post of others and deciding what they must mean.

Its the school of Omid spin I tell you.

I don’t see how it’s odd, it’s a two second job. Looked like you just want to have a go.
