Maybe they didn't realise he'd stray into a car park.

jeffgoldblum · 17/01/2024 11:36

So many questions @Maireas !

ArcaneWireless · 17/01/2024 11:38

when I go out jogging or walking I always plaster a stupid grin on my face. Everyone should.

Only a matter of time before he manages to ‘plaster a stupid grin on his face’ when running I’m sure.

He has mastered plastered, grinning and sitting down after all.

Buying milkshakes and a matching tie for Meghan's outfit on Friday.

jeffgoldblum · 17/01/2024 11:40

Ahh but did they ask your permission first? Or just decide to go with it , it is your name after all! 🤣

They told her they would use the term "milkie" but the Daily Mail lied about it, as usual.

I do wonder if the Queen/Palace were told the name would be "Lili" (which goes nicely with Archie, and ties in with W&K's congratulatory tweet), then blindsided when the registration of birth used "Lilibet". I wonder if Harry knew that was the intention too when he spoke to his grandmother.

I looked back at this to see and yes indeed it is all very odd. For a start Omid couldn't even get the spelling correct on his tweet. The actual announcement with the "Lili" is very odd too. Who has inverted commas in their name?
Yours Soldentifying "Princess" Smith.

@Maireas 🤣 'milkie' !
I've never seen that before @SoIdentifying!
Contrary to how it looks, I don't normally bother following or looking at these things!
If it wasn't for mn I'd have no clue 🕵️
It does seem odd though!

I had to google this too ( after missing all the fun it seems 😆) and this is what I found

Have they domain named me? Do I need to call a lawyer?

My cats can attest that I am more angry than when I found a festering, maggot ridden dead bird in my bookshelf. "You get the sofas, you leave your bloody hair everywhere and puke on the rugs!" I cried, "All I have is my books, and now you have taken those away too!"

Milkie is better than Shaky, although the latter might be more apt in Harry's case after a mushroom bender.

Frasers
there are also some misogyny in his comments on her, about him wanting to make sure she had the right people round her, or playing her off in spare as just sitting there doing nothing whilst his brother screamed at him and his father bullied him. There was an element of him viewing her as some old dear , rather than the very capable woman she was till the end.

Yes - I think this is true of the Queen. Of course, none of us know her but I've always had the impression that, while she was no intellectual, she was intelligent and very shrewd. She was a good judge of people too, I think, and got the measure of them very quickly. I think she must have been very wise in terms of being restrained and discreet on many occasions when most people would have got angry.

I think she must have had misgivings about the H & M marriage and clearly tried to slap them down even before the wedding - look at the tiara row, when Meghan ignored what was offered and asked for something else, the Queen declined and then Harry allegedly said 'What Meghan wants, Meghan gets'. That's a telling incident and I bet the Queen had her own view on them both at that point.

He couldn't believe she was saying no to them - he wasn't used to it.

Frasers · 17/01/2024 11:55

I actually think a lot of what has occurred over the last 4 or 5 years is because Harry is not very intelligent. He’s unable to understand the consequences of his actions. It does appear he is constantly taken aback at the fall out from what he does.

most of us are able to understand if we do x, y or z, what peoples reactions would be. Harry seems to lack this ability, simply if he wants to do something, feels justified in doing something, thinks something is a good idea or he is entitled to do something, or if something serves him well, he will do it, and it shouldn’t be questioned. In fact the opposite, he feels he should be applauded. Because he’s prince harry.

i can only assume he is on a massive learning curve, now he’s cut himself off from his families protection, that that’s not how the world works. And his wife is clearly lacking the ability to do any better, and also lacks not just the ability to steer him, but to understand the reactions fhey will get to their actions, so they make mistake after mistake. Lurching from one crisis to the next.

this is in the headlines as the queen was much respected, and as much as everyone knew he didn’t seek permission, the fact she was furious about it, is not going to habe the name sit right with most folks. So people are aghast on her behalf.

but they are getting to thr stage that as they do so much stupid shit, folks will soon stop reacting and just roll their eyes and move on.

@derxa From the same Wiki page "Hardman has been a columnist and royal correspondent for the Daily Telegraphh and, since 2001, writes for the Daily Maill."

From the article quoted above "Charles III: New King, New Court. The Inside Story, by the Mail's writer Robert Hardman, currently being serialised exclusively in the Daily Mail."

So, nothing to do with the Daily Mail at all!

OK good point they're probably huge fans of Lilibet Stern so named her after her.

Or, they'd never heard of Lilibet Stren and like 99% of people only know of Lilibet as a personal pet name for the Queen. Who they had a strained realstionship with.

Lilibet stern real name was actually Elizabeth

And? You seem to think this is all terribly important. Please list all the publications I'm allowed to read. 😂

I remember when I was at school, the nuns told us not to read Jackie magazine.
We instantly sought it out.

Thanks I'll seek them out. I also read The Scottish Farmer but there's not much mention of the RF in that. Sometimes they feature Princess Anne visiting the Royal Highland Show.
