Right. So if a palace aid wants to have a tattle about Prince Andrew, you'd be against that, yes?

Or a gossip about William and Catherine. To someone like Omid Scobie, who claims to have palace sources. You're against that, right?

What has this to do with Omid Scobie? The Palace staff NDAs have more holes in it than a string vest! More leaky than a sieve!
None of them should be gossiping if they sign NDAs.

Not sure what you are trying to achieve here.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 16/01/2024 16:29

You have just said that nobody under a Palace NDA should be talking, but they do when it comes to H&M. I'm just trying to establish that you believe they should not be talking to anyone about anyone within the family. Scobie is another book writer with Palace sources he has used, so I am drawing a comparison between him and Robert Hardman, since it is the aid speaking to Hardman that is the purpose of this thread.

NDA's are Non Disclosure Agreements. They all sign them. They should not be reporting on the Queen's anger or anything she said to the papers or anyone.

Just to reiterate: if King Charles hasn't sued or commented on this book and the serialisation I assume that he is happy for all the speculation and myriad frothing articles about his late mother and his young granddaughter.

This is not painting the UK in a good light:

Piers Morgan cultivating his obsession. By the way why isn't he being questioned by the police about phone hacking and lying in agobernment enquiry??

The daily mail peddling third hand gossip

Other papers and their readership engaging in a frenzy of hatred

The usual excusing of racism on royal threads

All over a little girl's name.

JaneJeffer · 16/01/2024 16:41

And there has never been a scandal or abuse of power by the Irish president?
Not that I can recall. They represent the state both here and abroad and we've been very lucky to have a couple of great women followed by Michael D. Higgins who is much loved by all.

wildernesssw · 16/01/2024 16:48

Well, before they left the RF they were the modern, unstuffy couple who were going to revolutionise the old institution... and their child had untraditional names. They weren't going to use his title.

Then they left, and it became apparent that their main selling point was not their modern, unstuffy selves, but their connection to the RF.

Strangely enough, the child born at this point has names very much connected to the RF, to the extent they used QE2's family nickname, not the formal 'Elizabeth'.

And a year or two down the line they want to use the children's titles.

No doubt a coincidence, and they just happened to like the name. And change their mind about titles.

Well said, @wildernesssw

She wouldn't have been able to pay off a trafficked child if she wasn't rich though.

Your answer here as on other occasions is irrelevant to the point of the my post which WAS the Queen was not talking about monetary wealth. She was talking about a very personal name. You are just throwing other stuff in as opposed to actually addressing the point.

MaturingCheeseball · 16/01/2024 16:51

I wish this hadn’t come out “officially”. A good many people (not all, not all, I know) believed the name choice to be a cheesy exploitative move, and H&M’s announcement of The Queen’s “support” clearly annoyed TQ.

However all the extra details about TQ being angry and the ownership of her name is unnecessary. I prefer a dignified silence, which is what TQ should be afforded in death.

SoIdentifying · 16/01/2024 16:53

HeadNorth · 16/01/2024 13:13

Good point. I’m surprised the Daily Hate didn’t run a sad face story on the poor old lady using her meagre savings on her pervert son.

Gosh you sound like such an unpleasant person talking like this.

SoIdentifying · 16/01/2024 16:55

Samcro · 16/01/2024 16:06

another case of throwing H&M under the bus.

or maybe telling the truth?

Have you actually seen a Palace NDA or are you surmising?

Have you actually seen a Palace NDA or are you surmising?

No. It's what they sign to work there.

SoIdentifying · 16/01/2024 17:05

Roussette · 16/01/2024 17:03

No. It's what they sign to work there.

So you are assuming, surmising, guessing...

wildernesssw · 16/01/2024 17:09

@Roussette I think what Solentifying is asking is whether you have seen the text/content of a Palace NDA, given your opinion is that the NDAs have 'more holes than a string vest'

Roussette · 16/01/2024 17:12

SoIdentifying · 16/01/2024 17:05

Eh? Nope. It's a known fact. Google it.

I don't want gossip. I want a full investigation in the Royals involvement with Peter Ball, Savile, Lauren Van de Post, Epstein, Mountbatten etc. No hiding behind NDA's, special priviledges, immunity from arrest, closed files.

I am not party to what a Palace NDA says because I am not employed by them. How would you expect me to know that?!

What a daft thing to ask me! However... given the number of MNers who have rellies employed by the Palace in all sorts of roles, perhaps they would know?
However a Non Disclosure Agreement is just that... you don't gossip about what the Queen said

What do you mean? It is a known fact that there are NDAs - not the point. Or there are examples out there of the exact NDA that the Palace uses?

StuckintheRutt · 16/01/2024 17:16

I've not read the thread but answering the original posting, I'm absolutely appalled that the queen, who had so many things to get angry about got angry about this?

Her great grandchild being honoured with her name!

How incredibly petty. Doesn't reflect well at all

StuckintheRutt · 16/01/2024 17:19

Imagine lili reading this as an adult??

My great grandma didn't want me to have "her" TM name lillibet!! Poor bloody kid...

Thank you @wildernesssw yes this was a simple request . I asked you @Roussette had you seen one and you said
"No. It's what they sign to work there."
So as you haven't seen one then you are guessing.

Well, yes, I was surprised how definite you were about the inadequacies of the NDA wording!

Though given a small percentage 'talk', but most don't, it seems the wording and/or recruitment process generally works quite well.
