I remember a TV personality ( can’t recall her name) who was interviewed by the police because her husband took photos of their child in the bath and whoever developed them ( a long time ago) reported them .
I am surprised anyone thinks it was acceptable for Archie to be shown in that situation.,

I too remember that incident, Mygreendress. It involved Julia Somerville and her partner, Jeremy Dixon (who is now Sir (David) Jeremy Dixon. The child was her daughter from her previous marriage who was about seven or eight. Jeremy Dixon took nearly a whole reel of her standing in the bath with foam sliding off her body. I would have thought that weird too. However, charges were dropped.

The late Queen would certainly not have been enraged by Harry and Meghan calling their daughter, "Lilibet". That is typical tabloid hyperbole. In any case, the girl is bound to be known as, 'Lily/Lili', as she gets older, if not now. It was a nice gesture of the couple to affectionately name their daughter after the Queen. I don't particularly care for the name but that is not relevant, they like it and they live in America where all sorts of names are created.

I'm going to suggest that it gave Harry many, many more opportunities in life than if he'd been born plain Harry Smith.

It probably did Maireas

It certainly have him a lift up for his Legend of Aviation award…

Edited

Excuse me! (Coughs) Legends of Aviation, the word Legend is the key point here. It's not about flying, is it?
Edited for careless grammatical error, checked online with a Google dictionary.

I’d also say the proof here will be if they take legal action. If they don’t it confirms it. Personally I think there will be no such action, maybe a threat that disappears. But as they are so highly litigious, I’d expect something serious from them. And fast.

the fact the author and his lawyers are confident in this, as well as the mail and every single media outlet publishing it, inc the times, says they think this is bulletproof sources.

I think you’ve misunderstood, it’s an exert from a biography that’s been published, it’s not some tabloid hyperbole.

Don’t be ridiculous. The photos of the child years ago ( Julia Somerville’s daughter , I googled ) were private family photographs similar to ones I have of my 3 .
H and M profess to shield their DC ( which I thought was right) but then have them on their Netflix reality show . Sheer hypocrisy. It’s one thing having family photos quite another to share them with the world.

Clearly @Rockybooboo was right. Not sure why you are comparing the two.

Time will tell.

I got the impression Harry was close to his grandmother that’s why he would want to keep the link I’d imagine. Titles for protection etc.

I mean, H&M haven’t really done anything except want to be treated with a little respect. Andrew has been accused of a lot, Charles and Camilla are adulterers, William and the Rose rumours…..all of these Royals happy to sit back and let H&M take all the flack in the media…and now this. What a bunch of horrors they are!

You can hardly see the kids in their show. You would not know them if you passed them in the street. That was a photo of Archie's face and he is just a baby. How do you know they accepted money for.it.

What do you mean they haven’t done anything, they did multiple interviews, published a book , trash talking his family, then misled the public on multiple occasions, fake car chase anyone, and taking rhe flack means blaming someone else for what you did. No one has blamed harry and Megan for Charles and Camilla having an affair. Or Diana having them for that matter, and you’d have to be very foolish to put any store in the William one.

Do you think they weren't paid for Netflix?

I would think they were. That's not wrong, surely? The Netflix show was lovely, I watched it twice and bits of it a third time, and found it quite moving.

most people take a photo of their babies in the bath but even then I put a flannel over her to keep her privacy. Watching the soap suds come off a naked 7 year old is a bit off even if it's not done with sexual intent.

I think she will be known as Lilli.

I though you couldn't libel a dead person (I'm no lawyer though).

They haven’t done anything wrong or illegal, other than go against the status quo and stand up to the vile, racist click bait articles printed about them.

Their family wouldn’t support them and by all accounts were happy to throw them under the bus.

Rockybooboo · 15/01/2024 22:38

Mylovelygreendress · 15/01/2024 22:20

So why maintain the link with such a distasteful family ? Why call their precious daughter a controversial name ? Why insist on titles for them ?

Because their beef wasn't with the Queen, it was with other members.

I never said it was wrong. Someone suggested they weren't paid.

ArcaneWireless · 15/01/2024 22:42

But as you helpfully pointed out, the Queen is dead, so why persist with the link?

If my family were as distasteful, I’d be distancing myself. More so in the light of the dreadful PA allegations.

For the photo of him in the bath!

pleasehelpwi3 · 15/01/2024 22:43

Given the state of the world now, how can people actually care about this? It's not news, it's manufactured celeb outrage.
In any case, the common agreement on MN naming threads is that no-one family member has ownership of a name- why should it be any different for the late Mrs.Windsor?
