I’d have thought Will and Kate were more likely to be chased for Scientology. They are friendly with Tom Cruise I think and even got invited to a private screening of one of his movies + the premiere. According to the Telegraph, he had tea with the late QEII too circa the Jubilee period.

Cults don’t tend to chase people with happy family lives, who live with a purpose, are sure of their destiny and have a strong support network around them.

Tom Cruise exists outside Scientology. His film productions take advantage of the UK’s considerable expertise in filming action sequences (half of what you will see that is supposedly set in a foreign location will have been filmed around North London). He will spend a lot of time here filming, and productions like his generate millions for the British film industry. He’s a massive and influential film star and producer who can bring work and industry prestige to this country. This sort of soft economic diplomacy is what the RF is there for.

He’s otherwise a loon, but he’s not trying to recruit the RF to Scientology!

It’s a great thing Harry has a happy family life in his wife and kids then. The Invictus Games, Archewell Foundation, supporting Well Child and Sentebale will give him a lot of purpose too. Hopefully he’s growing a network of supportive friends.

Seeing as the UK monarch is also the head of the CofE, and that it seems to be a role that they all take very seriously, I would be amazed if Scientologists even tried to convert them. And if they did, I doubt very much whether William - or Harry - would be open to it.

But as PPs have said, Tom Cruise is an actor/director as well as a Scientologist, and the royals having tea with him is just some soft diplomacy to encourage future film-making in the UK.

Re: Jamaica. I am surprised by lots of people on social media saying how pleased the President was to see H&M, and comparing it to W&K's visit.

I mean, Harry may have "left" the Royal Family, but he still uses the titles, and so presumably is still very much linked to the past colonialisation etc. It's not like he has done very much to remove himself from the association!

And yes, if he is so concerned about the environment, why would you hop on a plane just to see a film. Bizarre.

I do wonder if the two donors to archewell were Harry and Megan, and for tax write off purposes, and then it was used to fund their expenses.

I wondered if Harry and Meghan are one or both donors because of the tax write-off advantage in the US and if they are using the interest/income on the money for something else - perhaps moving the money in and out of the Archewell foundation

With $10-13 million Archewell should have earned $400,000-600,000 in interest - yet the accounts only declared just over $4,000 in income on the balance so it seems like the money was only in Archewell's accounts for a few days of the year (perhaps when the audit is due).

So do they use the missing interest money for themselves instead of leaving it in the Foundation thereby making money on their tax exempt donation? Or are they "investing" in other ventures

@Raincloudsonasunnyday what a strange question, what makes you think he doesn’t have a happy life with his beautiful wife and two children? A few pages before, someone was surprised they looked happy in Jamaica despite their ‘failures’ … having his own family unit, would be a part of that, he’s openly wanted that for years.

@Lunde i don’t believe H&M borrow concerns from tomorrow, per their statement H&M spent Archewell reserves down after a bumper donation from the year before.

did you accuse earthshot of the same when they spent £5m on price money and £7m on administration? or Kate’s early years initiative that donated no money but spent substantial amounts on research?

Anyway I’m quite excited for the Invictus one year to go visit in February. The Games expansion into winter sports has me considering making a holiday of it in Canada.

I’d also like to see them release scripted content for Netflix. They’ve been lazy in that regard IMO. I’m sure actor/writer strikes and COVID didn’t help but other production houses have managed to release work.

I didn’t accuse, and Kate and William don’t need money, that’s for sure, and I’m not sure of earthshots finances, but I am aware of archewells, the loss it made, the expenses charged, and the fact only two donors.

I do wonder actually if they were paid to go to the Marley premier. Paramount has access to private jets and regularly flies folks around the world, so that would be a negligible cost to them.

payimg harry and Megan say 1m, flying them there, giving them accommodation, would be way cheaper than paying for advertising for the movie, In all the publications around the world it then appeared in.
