they told us after, that they left as Megan was deeply unhappy with royal life. Suicidal, using her words. And Harry didn’t like it much better apparently.
but they told us at the time when they left, they said they were splitting their time between the USA and uk, 50/50, doing a new way of being royal. They were going to deem to come back and collaborate with the queen from their new a list status. Their children brought up as royals in British culture half the time .
they had already trademarked the Sussex royal brand, and set up the website under the same brand , organised the Oprah interview, in talks with Spotify and Netflix , invited big celebs to their wedding. The wheels were in motion for their new a list life in both roles. Their royal life feeding the celeb life. Keeping them both happy.
Then the queen said no, you don’t monetise it. Royalty comes with privaleges and you serve. She And put a firm stop to it, they were either in or out and the Sussex royal brand was not to be used for commercial gain. They were not to use it, and if they were out, they also could not have the royal positions, like the mitilary titles Harry had. If they wanted to make money, they did it without using the fact they were royal as something to cash in on.
and few disagreed with the queens position.
And then the wheels came off…they then took the new route of vengeance and spite, in their interviews and the book, something they originally were obviously not going to do, as lampooning the royal family would never have benefitted them in that 50/50 scenario.
but they lacked forethought when they went on the attack, what would happen longer term if they split. What would happen if they failed to make a career. Clearly they felt these things would never ever happen, but the latter did.
the public didn’t like it. The indiscretion, the pettiness. The constant attacks. The doing it for money. The sell out. The cashing in. Public opinion was against it. But they kept going. And made it worse for themselves, spreading obviously misleading information to the public. Trying to sue anyone who revealed it was mistruths.
now they tout themselves round tawdry award events , Spotify and Netflix done with them, Megan signing with a major agency to try to get work, and even that’s failed, big names like Dior publicly saying no thanks. Something 5 years ago they’d have begged Megan and Harry to do,
the door to being a working royal is closed forever. As is the door to being a major a list celeb. Archewell is an embarassement, they spend an hour a week working on it. And it looks like it’s got dodgey finances.
what they planned when they left, was not what they ultimately did, in revenge for not getting their way, and it’s hugely backfired on them.
