I agree @MrsFinkelstein

Moaning because he does something to highlight an issue. Would also moan if he did nothing.

Homelessness doesn’t come itself. It isn’t just about money. I’ve been so close to it and it terrified me.

Ex-forces can end up on the street having failed to adjust to civilian life/trauma from things they’ve seen or done. Discord with a family member. Death of a loved one. Feeling a need to escape after being judged/ belittled/criticised. Not being accepted as a valid member of society. Family scandals. A need to escape from the life you have. Pressures borne of the expectation of others. Many more examples I’m sure.

It isn’t just about a lack of money (although of course it can be a factor).

Despite the money some have (or not) - the luxury lifestyle someone may have - (or not), there are issues that affect you. Not many in life can say they have a perfect life or problem free existence.

Ypu may look at a person on the street and think a prince would never know of the troubles they experienced.

But it could be argued - financial burdens aside - that they know those troubles all too well.

Don’t be so silly. It’s factual in that she does spend masses of time away from her children on special occasions (they both do) and they have no relationship whatsoever with any of their extended family. The only person who used the words suffering and uncaring was you. Previous poster just said she felt sorry for them for the above factual reasons. There’s nothing “awful” about that at all. You’re just pretending.

How much time has she been away from her children compared to the RoyAl parents? Most Royal kids have nanny's and go to boarding school?

So you know that they don't see the Spencer family or Doria's extended family? Does it matter anyway? I'm very close to my second cousin but we only met once in childhood. Archie and Lillibet have years ahead of them I get to know their relatives if they want to.

Apparently, once when Michelle Obama was in London with her daughters on a private visit, the Queen heard they were in town and invited them to tea at BP. This was when Obama was no longer president, so no diplomatic courtesies involved, and absolutely no reason why the Queen should have done this if she hadn't genuinely wanted to

What a lovely thing to have done - and if it came from Michelle herself we can believe it true

But then, with Michelle at least, I expect the Queen recognised real decency when she saw it

Most Royal kids have nanny's and go to boarding school?

Which royal kids? The only ones currently of school age are James Wessex and the Wales children. I don't know where James goes to school, but the Wales children go to a day school.

James isn’t a boarder as his sister wasn’t. Wales children aren’t at the moment. Peter Phillips eldest I think may board during the week. Rest of a Princess Anne’s don’t. And that is all of them.

Vespanest · 07/12/2023 00:24

I feel sorry for the children in the same way I felt sorry for William and Harry. People who air dirty laundry in public are not great role models. The same as, from personal experience parents who can find grievances in everything. It took me the loss of a relationship because he bought me minstrels and not revels, as if he loved me he’d know, and I couldn’t back down, to realise I’d learnt some pretty shit behaviours from a mother who could isolate herself from herself. Even know I have to bite my tongue if my, now adult children have any fall out, my learnt natural response is fuck em and never speak to the bastard again.

miri1985 · 07/12/2023 04:28

Same could be said of many of their wedding guests. At the time, I naively thought that MM knew the Clooneys, Oprah etc through being an actress. Of course, one could say the same in reverse - 'Tell me, Ms Winfrey, why did you accept an invitation from a minor actress you didn't know, to attend a wedding in a castle in the presence of royalty?'

What I found really interesting was that Meghan did the same for her first wedding (inviting people she barely knew in the hope it would advance her in Hollywood). In a podcast I listen where they watch and talk about terrible films (called How did this get made), they did the Harry and Meghan lifetime movie and during it Paul Scheer said that he got invited to her first wedding in the Bahamas but didn't attend because he barely knew her. She had had a few scenes in the tv series that he created and acted in called the league but they never hung out socially or anything. I was kind of amazed the DM never picked it up for a story

How do you know where they go to school?

It’s not difficult to find out but if you live near them in Gloucestershire it’s even easier . The PP is right , none of them board at the moment . Mike Tindall has said publicly that he doesn’t want to send his to board, and he and Zara do the school run every day as I don’t think they have a nanny. Sophie has also commented on wanting her children to do days although I think Louise did weekly board in sixth form and her younger brother may weekly board. Louise had a holiday job in a local garden centre . Strangely all these grandchildren of the Queen are able to go about their business without the ‘papperazzi’ quoted by H&M.

It’s quite common knowledge where all the kids go to school. Often in the media.

@FinallyFinalGirl spend 2-3 minutes looking at sensible news sites and you'll see there is only made-up conspiracy bollocks about Tafari Campbell. Please don't just repeat things as if they're fast.

Did you miss the part where I said it was my OPINION????Biscuit

PinkBallgown · 07/12/2023 08:41

Is James not at Eton then?

Is James not at Eton then?

Don’t think so no, he was at eagle house, but don’t think he is there any more. No one seems to know where he now is, could be being home educated.

EdithWeston · 07/12/2023 09:04

PinkBallgown · 07/12/2023 08:41

Is James not at Eton then?

His secondary school has never been announced. Only the Wales make announcements

As PP said, it usually becomes known where they go to school (because they are seen and recognised locally) but the press generally leave them alone at that age. Even the then Cambridges were left alone during the school run (and in places near to their school after the end of the school day), Lady Louise's garden centre job wasn't mentioned by the press until she left it. The idea that royal children are harassed and intruded upon is misplaced.

None of them seem to board before secondary school age at the moment.

They often use nannies when the DC are young (that includes the Sussexes) but al of this generation of Royals seem to be much more "hands on" with their SC. Doesn't stop the public whinging from time to time that they're not doing as many duties as the generation before - sometimes they can't win!

FuckHonestlyKnows · 07/12/2023 10:11

Yeah but your 'opinion' is based on made up garbage. There are actual facts in the world, and they trump opinions tbh.

PinkBallgown · 07/12/2023 08:41

Is James not at Eton then?

I think he’s at Wellington . Hugh Grosvenor didn’t go to Eton either , he went to a local primary, then a local day prep , and then to Ellesmere College. His sisters went to a local day independent .

misteek · 07/12/2023 11:43

were there any pics of the groom (named as a godfather ) at all?

Good grief.😂😂 The whole point of having an opinion is that you don't NEED facts.

AliceOlive · 07/12/2023 12:14

I don’t even know what you two are arguing about but seriously, @FinallyFinalGirl intelligent people form opinions based on facts.

I think it’s so sad and it’s really off topic to bring someone’s tragic death up here.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 07/12/2023 12:25

Agree. This is a thread that has, in the main, remained civil in tone and on topic. Please do not derail it any further with an unrelated Obama discussion. Happy to discuss the Obamas lovely relationship with the late QEII, or their relationship with the Sussexes, or whether you think Michelle is giving Barack a copy of Endgame for Secret Santa this year. Thanks.

Does anyone else feel like the RF should discreetly call in Colleen Rooney? If ever Wagatha Christie was needed again it’s now 😂
