As I said, if you find it boring, why engage?

It's like me turning up to the local football match every week and then complaining that it is boring - and furthermore, everyone else is unreasonable for turning up.

ElevenSeven · 10/12/2023 08:32

They are always, always, representing themselves. Why have they hung on to their titles?

They’ve had a terrible year and are becoming irrelevant which is a punishment worse than death for them.

Waaaah.

They can hardly be descrbed as irrelevant when there are threads, newspaper headlines and GB News are obsessed with them!

Roussette · 10/12/2023 09:16

What's mega boring?

I said in my post.
Titles. Removal of them.

Here we go... everyone deliberately misunderstanding!

Here is what I said...
We have been through the Titles endlessly on here. It's got mega boring. It sets a precedent to remove them and if that happened, it will mean in years to come the minute we go off a Royal, there will be public demand to do it again

Edited

Removal isn't the only option.

They could continue with no titles for the DC (as they did at birth, refraining to use the ones that they were entitled to) and could also opt not to use them for themselves (like Mrs Kent, the primary school teacher)

You are obviously doing this on purpose. Let me repeat for you... this is what I said.

As you can see (but choose not to understand) I am talking about Titles and the endless discussion about it.

WinnieTheW0rm · 10/12/2023 09:26

That doesn't however cover the option of just not using them

parksandrecs · 10/12/2023 09:26

Yes, I get that you find the discussion of titles boring. So... don't discuss them.

Other poeple don't find it boring, so do discuss them.

I will get castigated for this... but why should they? When the likes of Duchess of York uses hers endlessly, is not married to a member of the RF and hasn't been for 30 years... why should H&M be different?

Because she didn’t step down from the family.

You will see what I said about removal of titles.

Can I suggest you stop this deliberate goading now? MNHQ don't take too kindly to that practice.

I have explained myself and won't repond to you on this any more.

Roussette · 10/12/2023 09:32

ElevenSeven · 10/12/2023 09:30

Because she didn’t step down from the family.

She did write a book and do an OW interview about how awful the Institution was. Then she ran out of money so she's back in the fold.

parksandrecs · 10/12/2023 09:32

Feel free to report my posts if you think they are goady.

I'll carry on discussing the removal/continued use of titles...

ElevenSeven · 10/12/2023 09:33

Roussette · 10/12/2023 09:32

She did write a book and do an OW interview about how awful the Institution was. Then she ran out of money so she's back in the fold.

They still like her, she isn’t anywhere near in the same bracket.

She seems fun, to be honest, she doesn’t take herself too seriously and isn’t always whining.

parksandrecs · 10/12/2023 09:35

SF chooses to use hers, to align herself with the RF.

Harry and Meghan, by using their titles, are also aligning themselves with the RF - which they also say is a toxic institution. It's the contradiction (hypocrisy?) that people are commenting on. And no doubt will continue to comment on as it is an on-going situation.

Roussette · 10/12/2023 09:36

Haha... that's funny ElevenSeven! You are obviously young and don't remember how much PPhilip loathed her. She's only back so firmly like she is now because he isn't around.

Can I suggest you read the reviews about her book she wrote castigating the Institution and how awful it was? They all talk about whining. It was one big pity party according to reviewers.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 10/12/2023 09:39

Weird how they can comment about a wedding invite but not about the nonsense around End game…

parksandrecs · 10/12/2023 09:39

Yes, she was ridiculed at the time for her contradictory attitude as well. Maybe, as Anne said in an interview, these Young Things should look at the mistakes the previous generation made, instead of thinking they have invented them!

On the other hand, which generation has ever done that 😂my goodness, it keeps me awake at night to think DD will do even half the silly/dangerous things I did!

Hughs · 10/12/2023 09:39

Surely they have ambitions to be held in higher esteem than the Duchess of York? That seems a very low bar.
Choosing not to use the titles would send a really good message of independence, freedom, separation from all the terrible things they've been through. All of that backs up what they say, so would remove those pesky accusations of hypocrisy. It's not like anybody will forget their links to the RF. Win win.

LittleBearPad · 10/12/2023 09:43

There’s a strong degree of masochism in some posters on these threads. They claim to be upset by them, yet here they are.

parksandrecs · 10/12/2023 09:43

From Harry's point of view I suppose he has been brought up to think titles, precedence etc matter - not from a 'on formal occasions there needs to be a set of rules to prevent squabbling' level, but at some sort of fundamental level, it defines who you are way. Presumably he felt that becoming 'Duke of Sussex' when he got married made him a better? more significant? person.

I don't know, because I can't get into that mindset.

Or the mindset of choosing to be a working royal!

Possibly it made him feel equal to his brother - also a Royal Duke at the time.

For decades now Sarah Ferguson has realised which side her bread is buttered and shut up and got on with her life. It’s quite a different approach.

Rockybooboo · 10/12/2023 09:48

I think is is great they use their titles. Truth be told, no-one should be a Prince or Princess in a modern world but if we're going to follow an outraged pathetic system that gives people titles and procedures just for being born, we have to suck it up. The Sussex children are Prince and Princess even if it the Royalist are outraged and offended.

parksandrecs · 10/12/2023 09:49

I suppose it is a bit like Harry or Meghan taking a job as a tabloid commentator, while also continuing their campaign against tabloid abuses.

parksandrecs · 10/12/2023 09:50

No reason why they shouldn't, if they choose, but it does make their position a bit difficult to understand

That's true. She's certainly kept quiet about her former husband's friendships with arms dealers and sex traffickers. Yes people who keep their mouths shut about Royal corruption. so that we can all live in the fantasy world that the Royal Family are actually decent.
