La Pom Pom Girl is doing the Double Dutch. But who is turning the skipping ropes? Part three/trois/drie of the continuing discussion of Endgame by Omid Scobie. Previous thread:

They had so much - good will, support, wealth, titles, status, privilege. Opportunities few of us could dream of. Yet there's just bitterness, victimhood and cruelty.

I am constantly amazed that someone who was a working member of the RF for 5 minutes , has so much to say and so much information that 4 years after flouncing off we are still being drip fed grievances.
And for someone who is supposedly a feminist , Meghan is clearing gunning for Catherine . And for a couple so against online bullying their silence is deafening.

No feminist worthy of the name would EVER have chosen a man as one of her 'trailblazing female changemakers' and placed him on the cover of Vogue.

And yet the palace themselves expected us to buy it over the disclosure of Anne and Timothy Lawrence's letters to each other, around the time her divorce was announced

And that alleged leaker was never identified either ... quelle surprise

Did they? I've just googled and there seemed to be a flurry of stories about it a couple of years ago, but as she's not the Head of State perhaps her letters were easier to get at. Clearly if Tim Lawrence was the addressee for letters 'too hot to handle' he's got hidden depths, because he's always struck me as spectacularly dull.

What OS is suggesting is now entering full conspiracy thriller territory.

A rogue palace mole. A crusading journalist on the ropes. Was he set up? Were the papers he was shown real or fake? As our hero battles for the truth against the dark forces of a ruthless monarchy, only a hauntingly beautiful but reclusive global superstar can save him. But will she take pity on him in time? A race against the clock full of twists, turns and tiaras, this unputdownable story is the read of the season!

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstotheyard · 02/12/2023 13:14

I agree that this could be a tactic of deflection, that fits with Harry's narrative of a leaky palace and camps briefing on each other through their aids; and fits with his own repeated claim that MM is not the source, and now the claim that people close to her don't want to speak to her either. I assume even King Charles is allowed to have a private life and private correspondence that he alone opens and decides who to share it with, so it wouldn't be hard to figure out who the culprit might be, if it's true. I wonder what the legal ramifications would be for this invasion of privacy. Ii's one thing if the letter writer and recipient is willingly allowing its contents to be leaked, even via a friend. Very different if the letter writer/recipient has had it leaked against his express permission and in invasion of his private life.

Here's the interview, the remarks about the letter are from 4.30. I had to watch it a couple of time to get through OS's word salad.

Endgame: Omid Scobie denies "problematic" narrative that he's "Meghan's mouthpiece"

In a captivating conclusion of Omid Scobie's "Endgame" interview, we witness the unraveling of the intricate dynamics between Meghan, Harry, and the Royal Fa...

Didn't Meghan sue the press over her letters to her father being released?

I wonder if she'll now sue Scobie too for doing the same thing?

Good point. OS will be aware of that and it protects his source while throwing the blame on the Palace doing their usual.

ArcaneWireless · 02/12/2023 13:19

Aye - full on scriptwriter stuff.

Bourne Identity. Bourne Supremacy. Bourne Ultimatum type stuff maybe?

I wonder if Born Gowk will ever hit the cinema?

She sued for copyright infringement, because the Mail printed a chunk of her letter. Scobie has been clever enough not to do this, only to paraphrase the just of what was written (allegedly).

"Shared within Royal households."

Interesting. He's actually not saying it's a Palace aide. MM and PH technically are a Royal household, so the assistant could be on her side. He has said people around her have spoken to him too.

I think he knows he can't come out and say it was from the Palace, but by hedging his bets here he's trying to protect the Sussexes' camp.

thebellagio · 02/12/2023 13:23

Scobie is also now going public on the William affair rumours. The ones that even the originator admitted to making up…

Two days after the book dropped, Scobie revealed that he was “very careful” with how he broached the topic in the book.
“I thought it was really important [to mention], even if a rumor is a rumor,” he said to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, November 30. “And I really don’t see proof that there is more to this than just a tittle-tattle, you know.”

Jesus, so he knows and openly admits it was all malicious gossip yet he’s still happy to push that narrative.

Omid Scobie Was 'Careful' About Prince William Affair Rumors in Book

Royal expert Omid Scobie doesn’t ‘see proof’ that Prince William cheated on wife Princess Kate Middleton with former friend Rose Hanbury

Also, he's just admitting he's never seen the letters, he's only heard about the contents. He's buggered if it goes to court, unless he's got his sources to sign affidavits confirming what THEY read and that they saw those two names, which of course he won't have.

Edited

The one thing you can be sure of, this time MM will make sure there’s no paper trail.

So Katy Keen is a character in Archie comic? I wonder if anyone would name their son after a comic they really liked 🤔Oh, wait…

Even if you don’t like or agree with a monarchy the nastiness of these two is so blatant to see. I can’t understand why some people still support them (apart from the ones paid to do so). So much hatred, spite, bitterness and cruelty runs through these two it’s unfathomable to me that they have fans.

BethDuttonsTwin · 02/12/2023 13:38

And I think this is a weak spot on the parts of OS, MM and PH - they have repeatedly failed to recognise the significance of Charles being Head of State (of the UK and many other states) and the resources that flow to and from that as far as investigations and legal clout are concerned. If this affair is deemed to be a matter of national security and diplomatic concern - the alleged theft or copying of personal papers of the Head of State is serious shit - then OS is suddenly playing with the big boys and girls.

This also indicates the source as someone clueless around how it all works, hierarchy, protocol etc etc etc. Perhaps someone who never googled, didn’t know the words of the national anthem, or even how to curtsy…

ArcaneWireless · 02/12/2023 13:40

@thebellagio

Now why doesn’t that surprise me?

It is almost as though he can’t help himself.

Alan Partridge had the right idea regarding people like this- the third time someone swore on his car.

I wasn't aware the originator had admitted to inventing this, but does that mean Scobie won't be invited for tea at the palace any time soon? Wink Grin

I want to watch this Hallmark Christmas movie!!

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstotheyard · 02/12/2023 13:44

I see what you are saying @Bookworm1111 , but I don't think for a minute those two would be operating the sort of set up OS was describing, or allow some random assistant to open their mail from Buckingham Palace.

OS could be talking himself into a corner here. His adamant denial that his source material for the letter is H&M leaves only one other place it could have come from; and he's therefore relayed the contents of personal, private correspondence, when neither author of the correspondence gave permission for its release. That's potentially the misuse of private information, and actionable.

I think Scobie is setting himself that this is a book of rumours from who he sees a trusted sources so in his belief are true but cannot guarantee. So a gossip rag.
