Well. I am quite ready to believe there is racism in the royal family, when evidence of such is presented to me.

We happen to know who the ancestors of the royal family are, but any one of us most likely has an unsavoury character somewhere in our family tree if you go far enough back; maybe I have an ancestor who made their fortune as a pimp? Or perhaps one of them was a serial killer? I just don't know it so I can’t be judged by their actions. How miserable it must be to be judged like this, I wouldn’t be royal for any amount of money and I totally sympathise with Harry for wanting to get the hell away from that life.

I very much doubt Kate, the future queen ever had aspirations to be an actress on a soap. Could be wrong though. 😂 and I don’t think there is any envy over her being with harry, likely the opposite, I mean Christ even I’m not envious. Who would be. And I am sure you know full well the pair of them are now infamous due to the fact they simply sell stories on the royals .

It’s hardly Catherine’s fault if her upbringing lacked diversity; I didn’t know or have anyone from other ethnicities in my childhood or at school.
I rarely worked with anyone who was and still don’t know anyone now I’m retired 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Lampzade I agree. A lot of the press around Meghan was positive initially and the response to her globally was very positive. There were crowds to meet her. Catherine had till this point only been compared to Beatrice and Eugenie who aren't exactly known for their fashion or style (at least in the British press) and was always compared favourably. With Megan she had to up her game and I thought it was telling when she was dressed to the nines when she met Megan for the first time even though it was a casual meet (at least for royals) at Harry's cottage.

The media always set them up to fail as the comparisons started from the very beginning.

I grew up in London and my state school and 6th form college was very diverse. It was normal to me.

Her parents sent her to an exclusive public school and it isn't actually her fault that it lacked diversity.

I can't imagine not having had such a diverse experience at school but again it's what you know.

There is a difference between being excited /curious about how a child will look or who they will look like as opposed to being concerned about the child’s skin tone.
It could be that Meghan was being ‘over sensitive ‘and that any mention of race upset her.Alternatively , it could be that the royals in questions behaved in a manner which could be deemed ‘racist’. This may not have been their intention, however one can be racist without intent

She very specifically did use the word concern in the Oprah interview and also deliberately linked the ‘concerns’ to whether or not the child would be titled Prince. The title part was obviously bollocks at the time as he wasn’t a prince until Charles became King.

I’ve always thought it likely that a conversation did happen during the earlier part of the relationship when Harry kicked off about the press being racist, regarding whether he’d considered what it might be like if they married and had children, how would he cope etc., especially as he was rather rushing it compared to that generation of the family.

It’s ridiculous - I have 2 mixed raced kids and many of my friends made similar comments. Perfectly normal to wonder, it doesn’t make them racist.

It also reveals why William is so anti Harry now, he’s thrown his wife under the bush, a woman he was very close to pre Megan. I used to think Megan got a hard time unnecessarily but I’ve changed my opinion of her now

It was the tabloids that called her "Kate" when she first came to their attention - "Waitey Katie" had such a good (if derogatory) ring to it. Catherine is her given name and the one her friends and family use.

Not everyone has their name shortened. It's not sycophancy to use a person's given name, and I always would unless they told me they preferred something else.

I'd never taken any interest in her either way until this "Megxit" carry on exploded, but the behaviour of the Sussexes towards BOTH their families has brought me down firmly on the side of the RF.
