BTW, can anyone explain why he's Harper's Royal reporter when he only seems to have access to or report on Harry and Meghan? It's a bit strange.

There’s so much in the excerpts that we’ve heard to date that it seems hard to believe could have come from anyone but Meghan and Harry themselves (if the stories are accurate). Even if Meghan and Harry told close friends or staff their versions, and then authorised them to pass it on to Omid.

Given Finding Freedom and Omid’s history of tweets (around QEII’s death and funeral in particular) I find it completely implausible that any close confidante of William, Kate, Charles or Camilla would ever have knowingly given Omid information.

I don't even know why people would buy a book where there are no named sources. Beats me.

There’s an article in tomorrow’s Times about Omid and his book. It’s an interesting read. I found the following bits about Omid quite illustrative of where his moral compass may be. The journalist didn’t mention however that Omid had also filed a sworn witness statement in the High Court denying that Meghan and Harry has any involvement in Finding Freedom. Unlike Meghan, he can’t exactly plead a lapse of memory.

Goodness me, what a mendacious character. Not been under the knife?! Righhhtt! And the bloody point of the objection to the private jets is that they are often taken for ridiculously short journeys, but pump out a disproportionate amount of carbon. That's why his heroes, Harry and Meghan, are currently starring in the hall of shame in Hollywood's famous Kitson's store window - for their eco hypocrisy.

Agree @mrsmingleton how can there be any credibility without named sources. A “close friend” does not cut it.

Also interesting to realize that the Queen had passed away before Harry’s flight left the ground. They could have informed him. I wonder how much the tweets from Scobie that day influenced the decision to announce her death publicly before telling Harry and Meghan. I suspect they were not trusted to keep the information private.

I know a couple of people (one in the civil service, one in the Met) who were informed that HMQ had died shortly after it happened (about 3:30pm I think). Presumably lots of people were told in the intervening period before the public announcement.

So yes, I agree that the fact that Harry was told so late may well be linked to his (or Meghan's)n propensity to pass things on to 'sources' like Scobie.

In fact, almost all of the things that H&M complain about in terms of their treatment by the RF since they left can be attributed to their tendency to leak private details:

• William not replying to texts
• Lack of invitations to royal events
• Kate not talking to Meghan etc

I find it bizarre how much OS seems to despise William and Kate, yet simultaneously bitches about the fact that they don’t want him to cover any of their projects. Perhaps because he’s spent the last three years slating them in increasingly personal ways!

No plastic surgery, knocking years off his age, lying about H&M collaborating with him, even lying about taking a private jet, Scobie is such a liar.

How can he sit in front of someone and expect them to believe him when he says he did not have plastic surgery, 😂even if there were no previous photos of him, it is as clear as day that his face has been totally rearranged by cosmetic surgery and the outcome is not exactly that positive. Idiot.

As to his revelations tell me one thing that we don't already know or would surprise us- nothing! Kate didn't speak to Meghan - no surprise there then. If I were Kate I wouldn't speak to her either. It's not just about relations between the two women, it's about Kate and W and her children. Her family has been attacked and many women would defend that position vehemently. Kate is one of the most recognisable women in the world for positive reasons whereas Meghan is seen by many as a tittle tattle reduced to treading the carpets at events and talking about her upcoming projects.and yes ushered along the red carpet when lingering too much.

The things that leap out to me are

a) the two racist thing - even though H had backtracked on it, it takes two people to have a conversation so there had to be two people involved anyway 🤷‍♀️

b) the fact that Kate and Meghan didn’t speak in the car. Apart from the fact that there were only four of them in that car so that information HAD to come from the Sussex camp, or it’s made up. But also wasn’t that car ride less than 30 seconds anyway?

Lying scheming , disloyal. He’s perfectly suited to the Sussexes. Oh and greedy.

@thebellagio and again there is that selfish, me/me factor - it was a time of grief, it was probably a daunting task - go out in public and do this when you are grieving so much YET it is all about a person inside the car and not being spoken to. Who cares about the fact that the Queen has just died.

Even if H&M didn’t contribute to this book (and they’ll never have plausible deniability after the last book and the court case), the fact is that this book could seriously cause long term issues between Harry and his family because no one will ever believe that he hasn’t had anything to do with it.

and that’s a really sad thought, that H&C may be close to making amends, but one glorified Heat writer with a thirst for fame could prevent a father and son reconciling.

I don’t think they’re close to making amends. No doubt Charles tries to keep some form of communication with Harry, even if it’s just a yearly phone call, but they’ll never trust him or his wife again. I don’t think William will ever forgive him. H and M seem to think that continually whining and stamping their feet will get them heard. All it does is alienate them further.

They've done nothing but whine about their treatment. Even moaning about a short car ride and not being spoken to. Its always all about them. Why would anyone want to interact. They cause nothing but trouble. So the old tactic of no contact is being applied here. Usually only a resort when all else has failed.

Like PP said, the fact that the only thing OS can say about the very short ride car ride is that no one said anything, proves the point that keeping schtum is the best thing that the RF can do. If anything had been said in that car, it would now be gracing the pages of this latest book.

I can’t remotely blame William and Kate for deciding silence was the best option when they will have been well aware that anything they said was likely to end up revealed and reviled. And then their silence itself gets exactly the same treatment…

H&M announced they were both on their way to Scotland, and when Meghan didn't go it caused a whole lot of unnecessary public discussion and speculation.

We now know that Harry was arguing with his father about why Meghan wasn't invited, while his mother was dying, and was only appeased when he was told Catherine wasn't going, most people believe that Catherine took one for the team by staying behind.

So why would anyone have anything to do with them during that period, let alone talk to them in the car on a 30 second car journey. It was already very magnanimous of William to invite them to join him and Catherine on the walkabout.

William and Kate were proven right not to say a word, considering Harry was happy to sell private family details about the day his grandmother died.

If this is leaked by H&M's close circle of friends, may be they should ditch them.
Family or not, how can Charles and William ever trust Harry again. Even the call on his 75 birthday was leaked.

If he’s not had surgery I’d love to know which wind tunnel he’s been sitting in for his features to be pulled back like that, his eyes to be narrowed, lips to be narrowed and nose to change shape! Sign me up!

Thinking about Endgame, we all assume MM and PH are pulling his strings but really it’s the other way round. They have created a monster that will need constant feeding to keep happy, otherwise he could turn round and attack them and spill his guts about how they fed him all the nasty stories about the Royals. He could be very dangerous for them if they don’t play nice.

Some very nasty comments about Catherine have now been released .
Completely unacceptable. No wonder she doesn’t want to speak to H and M but thank goodness she has her loyal , supportive husband and family to support her .
