That certainly seems to be a concern. Maybe not even their public reputation(s), but if it's true they were hoping defrost relations with Harry's family this book written by someone once described as a friend, whom they have collaborated with in the past, is like pouring salt in the wound.

As I have mentioned, Prince Andrew and his scandals and associations are in chapter 6 of the book which if you checked the title, you'll have seen is what the thread is about. I think if posters weren't aware of that, they could perhaps apologise to @Roussette and @Novella4 for the accusations of whataboutery and derailing....

He’s been called - by separate posters - ‘oily’ ‘greasy’ and a ‘scabber’ ( which we were informed is a word for ‘rat’) on this thread. There was also another poster who used a similar type of insult but I can’t remember the actual word now.

As I wrote in my first post responding to these insults, “WTF?”

I just went back and read the first page of posts - wow, quite a fan base he’s established.

I am not diminishing his crimes. And actually, I am getting pretty sick of being accused of doing so. Unlike you, I wager, I had the courage to stand in court and give evidence against my SA attacker. You have no idea who you are accusing of being a rape apologist.

At no point, not in a single post, have I said that PA is more acceptable than PH.

The salient difference - for the purposes of the RF wishing to keep their private lives private - is that one is a proven sharer of family business in exchange for cash, and the other one isn't, and THAT is the only point I have been making comparing the one to the other. Everything else you think that I think on the subject of which of them is worse is in your head. Because I have not articulated it, because it is irrelevant to the subject of privacy being maintained over the RF Christmas.

I stand by my opinion that it’s derailing for one poster to continually go after another poster repeatedly. The book isn’t about posters here or your perceptions of their values based on parsing their words. It was awful and tiresome. You’ll score no points with the schoolmarm type tsking. If you want to talk about Andrew, talk about him but the personal insults are a derail.
