And King Charles would be better compared to presidents who are Head of State with no political role if we you want to go that route. Lets not say Ireland as it is too small compared to us - but we could say Italy (approx same size as UK) for example.
Also - why do we always compare to the American president in these discussions?

The elites ALWAYS have an excuse why their excesses are necessary. Regardless, Charles is easily one of the top 1% of emitters globally, so I’ll take his climate/environment warbling with a pinch of salt and continue to judge people by their actions.

I am more pragmatic. I accept there will be times when world leaders will take journeys that don't put climate change first - assuming there's reasons for that, whether or not you or I like those reasons.

What doesn't make sense is, because they've transported their bloody Bentley, even if it was a gas guzzler which it is not, apparently, they shouldn't make any other efforts to be environmentally friendly? Because it's all or nothing?

If you drive a car, or take flights, or do a plethora of other things - you have no right to call moral superiority here.

Well I’m sure Bentley are aware that the Royals driving around in their cars is great publicity. Also if you read that French article properly (which I didn’t do the first time, but I have now, thanks @Serenster 😆), it also lists all the security modifications and adjustments that have been made, which is presumably why they are so expensive (bomb proof flooring, Kevlar tyres and so on)

I read about their life and duties and for the most part it sounds thoroughly shit and boring to me.

Going to all those schools, community centres, galas… shaking hands, nodding, looking earnest. Bloody hell. Awful!

I never know whether to laugh or cry when I see people lauding him as an environment activist. He really has pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes. I sometimes wonder (because he’s such an arrogant twat anyway) whether he genuinely believes his own twattery or whether he slinks back to his palaces in the evening and has a good giggle with Camilla as to how blind people are to his hypocrisy.
