What surreptitious timing, Thomas Markle has been wheeled out again, let's hear what he has to say.

Meghan posted glowingly of her father and their relationship, although not introducing him to her future husband seems to belie the truth of their relationship.

There was that comment Harry made in the early days of their relationship, 'that the Royal family are the family she never had' kind of dissed both her father AND mother.

It appears even pre-Harry she was a bit flexible with the truth, which has been proven multiple times since then.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 19/09/2023 09:09

'that the Royal family are the family she never had' kind of dissed both her father AND mother.

She was an only child growing up, she clearly meant that she didn't;t have a large extended family and always wanted one. Nothing offensive in it at all.

This is what Thomas’s daughter, Samantha tweeted yesterday after the interview:

I admire Meghan’s resolve to protect herself and her children.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 19/09/2023 09:12

Thank god she keeps away from them, revolting people.

I’m sorry but mocking someone because they have had a stroke “on purpose” is pretty vile

I think this has gone too far now - whatever he is guilty of none of us know the full facts

Edited

yes
but certain posters believe they know that its all Meghan"s fault.
they victim blame(because Meghan is the victim here) and find any excuse for this abusive man

MissElinorDashwood · 19/09/2023 09:36

The tide is turning and globally, our media is looking more and more unhinged.

Most people see this for what it is. A hit job after a successful week at Invictus. Meghan is still extremely popular (globally) and for whatever reason, there are those that feel threatened by this. What they don’t seem to realise is that when they pull these lame stunts, Meghan’s popularity only increases. The propaganda is no longer working.

The outcome of yesterday’s interview? ITV and GMB further damaged UK’s reputation.

Families come in all shapes and sizes, just because someone is raised as an only child by a single parent does not mean it is not a family. To be fair, we don't know what she meant by it, as it was Harry who recounted it.

I don’t recall any poster saying the situation is ALL Meghan’s fault . Clearly TM has not always behaved well however some of the hyperbolic comments about him are unnecessary. Meghan does not emerge unscathed from this unseemly mess .

LadyMuckingabout · 19/09/2023 09:53

TM is a sad and angry man. The siblings are jealous and hacked off.

Nevertheless, the comments from one particular poster on here are extremely unpleasant. As others have pointed out, H&M have hardly “risen above” family rifts.

I suggest an unbroadcasted reality show - “Lack of fame island” where participants have to live normally without pap walks, celebrity appearances and Twitter spats. Harry, Meghan and the rest of the Markle crew are first on.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 19/09/2023 09:53

To be fair, we don't know what she meant by it, as it was Harry who recounted it.

She did actually. But clearly you don;t watch their series so I am not sure why your chastising her and implying she insulted her mother. She didn't. She had a very common and normal reaction to being an only child, many people in her position wish they had siblings and cousins. Its not an attack on their parents for goodness sake.

LadyMuckingabout · 19/09/2023 09:56

It may not be an attack, but it is quite rude. Mil said once how lucky sil (only child) was to join their family and soil’s face was a picture Grin

Iwantcakeeveryday · 19/09/2023 09:56

Once again. Thomas and the markels are significantly different because they have been racist, attempted to blackmail, threatened, sat with conspiracy theorists who think her children don't exist or are not hers... and more besides. Anyone who equates what Harry and Meghan have done to the Markle actions and behaviours, including racism, have revealed they don't think racism is very serious and that children should tolerate abusive parents. Plenty of people in the royal family have complained about others, written books, made money off their connections ( they all do it ) and moaned about the press. Including 'King' Charles. Its not the same as what Thomas is doing at all.

LadyMuckingabout · 19/09/2023 09:57

Sil!!

AlexaCanYouHearMe · 19/09/2023 09:58

Jeeeez, he is like a fucking weed you try and keep down/kill off/get rid of, and you think it's gone, then it returns a couple of seasons later. Bore off Markleton! Hmm

Iwantcakeeveryday · 19/09/2023 09:58

Just a reminder for those going past it without comment, Samantha Markle said yesterday 'a simple DNA test' would answer a lot of questions. Why on earth would Meghan go near them again?

What in god's name is that awful Samantha on about now?
Is she still persisting with the surrogate crap? No wonder she was banned from Twitter twice for spreading conspiracy theories. Looks like she's back at it again

OK for Harry to write books criticising his family and talking about rows which should have remained private. But not ok for Thomas Markle to do it. But that's them all over one rule for them and a different rule for everybody else.

Harry ( not Meghan) wrote a book about his own experience within his family. Revelations that are not dissimilar to revelations made by both his parents, his aunt and his great-aunt. A family that has the entire British establishment at their beck and call to cover up anything they want to be covered up. Including a media which has spent 4 years obsessively picking apart his wife. The stupidest thing Harry did was thinking he was a victim of this instead of a beneficiary. Compared to a man making up things about his daughter who he hasn't seen or spoken to for years, and who has sided with people who want to claim that his grandchildren don't exist or are not Royal because they are illegitimate/don't exist and racists, including his own children.

Super-helpful summary, for the minority who are still in doubt that Thomas Markle, Thomas Jr and Samantha Markle are toxic, manipulative, crass opportunists who have teamed up with the Meghan-hating British media for financial gain and to settle family scores.

What's surprising here is to find that Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley of GMB are also toxic, manipulative, crass opportunists, who thought they would benefit from being the first to throw piles of mud at M&H, to drag them down after their unmitigated Invictus triumph.

Let's face it, the Meg-hatosphere has had it rough lately: no pending divorce, not being shunned by Hollywood and power players (did you see the photos of Meg with the CEO of Netflix and Jeff Bezos?), not having lost all their friends, not hated by everyone (the LOVE at Invictus), Meg not an untalented underachiever (Suits is on 30+ billion viewing hours this summer alone, a Netflix record), etc etc.

So up jumped Susanna and Richard, thinking they'd be the saviours of Meg-haters across the globe.

Well, it's backfiring spectacularly. Like all the other attempts to bring Meg and Harry down, it's just not working, and the perps are the ones ending up with egg on their faces.

I never had any interest in GMB in the first place, and now, as far as I'm concerned, Susanne Reid and Richard Madeley have joined the (to be forever ignored and boycotted) ranks of Piers Morgan, Jeremy Clarkson, Dan Wootton's etc of this world.

‘I think Richard, Susanna & GMB massively misjudged the public’s reaction to that car crash interview with Thomas Markle, even those who dislike Harry & Meghan could see through that man,’ another remarked.
One person brought up Meghan’s request to her father not to talk to the press, despite his continued insistence in doing so, questioning how he ‘doesn’t understand why she’s cut him off’.
Another wrote directly to Susanna, stating: ‘Dear Susanna Reid, You are better than this. The interview with Thomas Markle is beyond a bad joke. Nobody knows Meghan’s reasons. Shame on you #GMB.’

GMB viewers drag Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley for defending Thomas Markle

‘Despicable.’

Meghan posted glowingly of her father and their relationship, although not introducing him to her future husband seems to belie the truth of their relationship.

Brooke Shields spoke glowingly of her mother who pimped her out at age 14. It is common for public figures to curate their childhoods, particularly when their images require them to be "wholesome". Meghan wrote one post about her father on one Father's Day, and one about both her parents on Thanksgiving, intrsrcingky the only thanksgiving they sent together, after she met Harry.

The whole she posted "glowingly of him" all the time is a media fabrication. The last picture taken of her with her father was her wedding to Trevor. Before that, it was her high school graduation. The last pictures taken with her mother before Harry were all more recent, including of her life in Toronto before Harry.

FYI: the last picture of her with Samantha was in 2008. With the Blackface brother, it was even earlier than that.

If there were more they too would have been sold.

There was that comment Harry made in the early days of their relationship, 'that the Royal family are the family she never had' kind of dissed both her father AND mother.

Meghan grew up as the only child of her father and mother. Her siblings were much older when she was born, then after she and her mother moved out, she hardly saw them. She said she was lonely as a child. They meant the big family she always wanted, not hat she was an orphan.

It appears even pre-Harry she was a bit flexible with the truth, which has been proven multiple times since then.

Sure, she should have said what Thomas Jnr said ,which was that her mother Doria divorced her father for travelling to Thailand to have sex with prostituted women. That would have gone over well.

Roussette · 19/09/2023 10:44

Well said @TallerSally

I haven't watched GMB for years and I know why... crap like this. They have just sunk lower in my estimation if that were possible.

Why the post you linked should be deleted, god alone knows, it was just facts of what the father and his two awful children have done. Which gets glossed over by some.

skullbabe · 19/09/2023 11:03

I find the sympathy for Thomas Markle to be really interesting because he has really done some truly egregious things which have been listed in this thread. Meghan, absolutely based on Thomas’ actual behaviour over the past years, cannot genuinely allow him a relationship with her children. It would be extremely irresponsible. I think it interesting how many people feel empathy based on his age and his illnesses - there are many people with Thomas’ profile currently languishing with within the criminal justice system for comparison. Some of these people have committed truly awful offences and while it is important to treat these people with empathy when they are unwell, it would be unfair to expect their victims or their families to forget what has led to their incarceration just because of illness. And while it is apparent that many people here on this thread truly don’t think what Thomas has done warrants the complete withdrawal of his daughter from their relationship, many people do and feel it is the right choice and decision.

I think if Thomas was truly interested in reconciling with Meghan and having a relationship with her children a first step would be trying to reconcile and have a relationship with his other grandchildren with whom he also has no contact with. A next step would be disassociating himself from Samantha and Thomas Jr. There are several things he could do after this but these would be good.
