Has anyone see evidence that Birmingham lost their bid to host Invictus 2027, to Tokyo?
I thought closing date for applications was just last week. Have the Invictus team made any announcements?
If Birmingham lost it'll be sad for them, as they have been in the running for at least 3 years, if not more. It would have been a great way to support Invictus team GB, and hosting an event such as Invictus is always a huge boost to a local economy.
But of course from an Invictus perspective, it wouldn't be surprising that Birmingham lost. The UK media/social media and the RF would have turned the event into a toxic gossip and hate frenzied circus, absolutely crushing the spirit of the games, and detracting from the veterans and their entourage. Minds will likely be a lot calmer and more in line with the Invictus spirit in Tokyo.
Maybe the UK's time for hosting Invictus again will come, when the media, RF and segments of the public move on from their puerile obsession with bashing H&M.
