'You are doing this deliberately. Again I will say....King Charles is Head of the Armed Forces and in that capacity, in my opinion, should be wishing the veterans good luck.'

Yes yes we know he is. We can't have a like for like situation because H isn't the head of the US armed forces and William isn't doing a vets sports event here,

What we can do is compare a similar situation. So H wangs on publicly about his alleged environmental concerns, so one would therefore think he would publicly recognise Williams brilliant Earthshot, no? But he doesn't.

Of course the RF back the Military 100% be it current or ex service people. They reallt don't need to announce support of IG to The Sun.

Roussette · 26/02/2024 17:55

No comparison Janiie as your first paragraph says

Has anyone see evidence that Birmingham lost their bid to host Invictus 2027, to Tokyo?

I thought closing date for applications was just last week. Have the Invictus team made any announcements?

If Birmingham lost it'll be sad for them, as they have been in the running for at least 3 years, if not more. It would have been a great way to support Invictus team GB, and hosting an event such as Invictus is always a huge boost to a local economy.

But of course from an Invictus perspective, it wouldn't be surprising that Birmingham lost. The UK media/social media and the RF would have turned the event into a toxic gossip and hate frenzied circus, absolutely crushing the spirit of the games, and detracting from the veterans and their entourage. Minds will likely be a lot calmer and more in line with the Invictus spirit in Tokyo.

Maybe the UK's time for hosting Invictus again will come, when the media, RF and segments of the public move on from their puerile obsession with bashing H&M.

'the RF would have turned the event into a toxic gossip and hate frenzied circus, absolutely crushing the spirit of the games'

Oh stop it. The Royal foundation founded it fgs. They keep a dignified silence because toxic Harold has made it all about him and them. Blame him.

Another expert then noted how telling it is that the Royals "haven't mentioned" the Invictus Games since Harry stepped back as a senior royal in 2020. No senior royals have been seen at an Invictus event or have spoken out to support it in recent years

I had a feeling this was the case and I find it appalling @TallerSally
Especially silence from Charles given he's Head of the Armed Forces. Petty and pathetic when British veterans are competing.
An own goal I would say

Cue posters calling Harry various names in answer to this. But will admit I find 'pinch faced' a new one on me especially when he is smiling broadly at Invictus. 😅

Harry has definitely been called pinch faced on here before 😂

I don’t envy KC’s position with respect to his second born.

Well he raised him

I don't think parents can be held responsible for their 40yr old's toxic behaviour. Sometimes the person has to own their own actions. He maybe had a dysfunctional childhood but many do, the fact is he was loved and that should have been enough to help him handle all the bitterness and resentment at being 'spare'.

Handy proof right here of why staying quiet is the best course for the entire RF. H&M helped OS with two books, have done multiple interviews, have written a book and filmed a reality show full of awful accusations about the RF. Still some posters suggest it would be the RF that would create a "toxic gossip and hate frenzied circus". That circus has already come to town and it wasn't KC that sponsored it.

This thread was actually supposed to be a positive one about Invictus. But some can't focus on that, they have to drag in the negativity.

Daisyislazy · 26/02/2024 18:39

Who are you to decide what's enough for someone??

You missed the insult of the moment....pinch faced!

Having never heard the term before, I vow to use it with monotonous regularity from this day forth 😅

AliceOlive · 26/02/2024 18:47

Yes, a grand spectacle with many participants, some of whom don't recognize their own role in the circus.

I hope for the sake of the entire RF and particularly for KC that you get your wish about Birmingham. They have been through enough already.

AliceOlive · 26/02/2024 18:48

Harry is a god-awful worthless sub-human

Actually one of the worst things I have read on here. At the hands of someone posting to support him.

Yes it's awful isn't it. What most folk have said is he is a hypocrital, backstabbing, disloyal mahooosive attention seeker.

No mention of being sub human!

Roussette · 26/02/2024 18:50

I have seen far worse than that. And the sheer volume of insults is stupefying

Daisyislazy · 26/02/2024 18:51

Anyway, let's hope Invictus is a huge success for all the participants

I've often said puce and pinch faced. I believe you have pulled me on it before. He has 2 facial expressions, rictus grin for the triggering cameras or pinched face.. for the triggering cameras. Depending on who is taking the pics obviously.

AliceOlive · 26/02/2024 18:55

It's really not my own way of talking about anyone. I think he's made his own bed though and he's been terribly unfair to his family and put them under incredible strain. I also do think he's behaved in a paranoid manner and I blame the drugs.

Nope not heard it before. And no I haven't pulled you up on it, there's no point!

Do feel free to advance search if you so wish and if wrong, I will prostrate myself at your feet with abject apologies 😅

Daisyislazy · 26/02/2024 19:01

We are diagnosing drug dependency and paranoia now?

Harry has openly talked about his drug use. There are scientifically documented links to this type of sustained drug use and paranoia.

It’s conjecture but not a huge stretch. His version of events while he was on the years-long oversharing tour often seemed twisted from reality.

TallerSally · 26/02/2024 19:10

... meanwhile, and at the risk of contradicting myself over my earlier posts criticising "tittle tattle gossip" over Invictus (OK, even I've gotta admit it's sometimes funny!) the "Prince William jealous of Harry's success with Invictus" narrative has been picked up by a few more outlets, mainly in the US, including People and US Weekly:

"Robert Jobson spoke about the adaptive sports competition for veterans and service personnel being the Duke of Sussex's "number one passion project."
"It's been very successful since its outset," Jobson said. "It doesn't come cheap, it costs a lot of money, and he's been able to continue to raise that money throughout this period, which is impressive."

Enjoy! 😆

Prince William Was 'Surprised' by Success of Prince Harry's Invictus Games: 'A Degree of Jealousy'

In the ABC News special 'Prince Harry's Mission: Life, Family and Invictus Games,' streaming on Hulu, journalist Robert Jobson claimed that there was "jealousy" from Prince William over the success of Harry's Invictus Games.
