Well thank you! , I'm still waiting to take your hand 🤚 ! 😉

🫱🏻🍷?

Speaking of viewing figures, MrsFinklestein, I just googled "Harry Invictus Netflix viewing figures" and every single media source says it's failed to hit the Top 10 in either the US or UK

Is this correct, does anyone know? I've tried before to access Netflix's own data and can never make head nor tail of it, but thought someone else might be more able?

It's just a surprise if so; previous shows were reported to have done very well and I'd have thought something on such a worthwhile subject would be similar

I've mentioned this on both threads but every article seems to be based on Newsweek who claim it comes from Netflix but the only top 10 Netflix has is their weekly top 10 lists, and they only go to aug 28. This was released on the 30th. So its a headline created from literally nothing, no relevant data that I can find at all. having said that, I do not think it will be top 10, and I don't think that makes anything a failure. Everything I love on Netflix doesn't feature there.

Ohh my favourite 🤩 @JamieFrasersfurrysporran! How did you know! 🤣

I might have known Hmm ... and though I must have missed your previous posts about it, this is precisely why I asked if anyone knew better rather than assuming the headlines were accurate

Gilmorehill · 02/09/2023 15:37

He's a very good presenter. I wish he'd get the chance to do more mainstream shows.

He's on Money For Nothing. He's very creative, and has made some beautiful stuff through upcycling! I'm sure he's also guest presented The One Show too.

Maireas · 03/09/2023 14:39

Yes, wasn't he a CDT teacher at one point? He is very creative.

Ridemeginger · 03/09/2023 15:03

Just looked that up @Maireas , and yes he was! He's an impressive chap.

💐for @WeetabixTowels , from this POC who agrees with your posts on this thread.

Gilmorehill · 03/09/2023 15:41

@Ridemeginger I didn't know that.

But it not new material. Times and dates may change, sure, but the criticisms are always the same regurgitated ones.

A bit like Harry's stories then? Unless you think he has more up his sleeve?

jeffgoldblum · 03/09/2023 15:49

Does it matter when or if the same criticism is ' regurgitated' ( odd choice of words there!)
If people feel strongly about it , then they should be allowed to voice it!
Some people are still voicing criticism from 20 years ago on some threads!

It has been widely reported.

I'm not sure exactly how NF report their viewing figures, but I have personally seen brand new releases be featured within their "Top 10" & "trending" sections within days (hours sometimes) of release, so they obviously don't always wait a week before reporting. Am pretty sure this happened with the H&M 6 part series, as well as other shows like Wednesday. The Epstein documentary also charted immediately.

There is obviously ways NF can see total views immediately of everything they stream - how they choose to present that data seems to vary (which is why I have some reservations about their "Top 10" & "trending topics"). They seem to do some manipulation depending on how well they want a show to do IMO.

The sides conversation? Who said everyone had to be on a side? I didn't say that? Who said I said that? I didn't mention sides. WTF 😂 I will have a side of fat fries please.

I will have a side also thank you. Not chips though. We’re having Mary berry roasties tonight.

My side will be of the eye variety.

It may prove useful.

Love the gifs as ever @ArcaneWireless ! , you truly are the queen of the giffs ( ohh how many times can you say giffs , before it sounds guff?) 🤣

jeffgoldblum · 03/09/2023 17:06

Talking about taking things from a personal level, as someone who was born with congenital scoliosis , I found Harry's remarks about the matron , the description of her crooked spine , her slow motion on the stairs , the teasing and remarks about her lack of ' hotness' , particularly upsetting.

Now I know someone will say ' ah he was a child' and that's true but I don't know why he thought writing so descriptively about it in a book now was a good idea and he didn't show any remorse for his behaviour at all!

Maireas · 03/09/2023 17:11

I think that was the problem, @jeffgoldblum - he was a child at the time, but he didn't reflect as an adult how cruel that was. In fact, the lack of reflection throughout the book struck me.

Maireas · 03/09/2023 17:11

Great gif, as per a@ArcaneWireless 😊

MrsMaxDeWinter · 03/09/2023 17:14

@Iwantcakeeveryday

It's been barely a week and I see the "Harry has failed" talking points are already being sharpened!

@Mylovelygreendress

I actually agree that they should give up the Duke and Duchess titles. I rather like the idea that was floated by Tom Bower that Harry wanted to call himself Harry Spencer. Harry and Meghan Spencer. That would enrage the talking heads to explosion, so bring that on.

As Harry is a "blood prince", though, he will still be Prince Harry. And Meghan would be entitled to be the Princess Henry. Which would very quickly mutate colloquially into the informal Princess Meghan. I am not sure you would want that!

Even if Harry were to stop being called Prince Harry, he would still be Harry, the second son of the King of the United Kingdom of you fill in the rest.

Perhaps you want him to give up his genetic and blood links to the Royal Family, but if you can pick and choose which members should be in the blood line, then that makes the whole "our Royal Family can only be those persons descended from the Electress of Hanover thing" a bit beside the point.

Here's the thing about the Royal Family.

If you accept the principle that there is one, and only one family chosen by God by right of being born into a particular line of succession, you can't pick which members get to stay in that family and which not.

They invented a wonderful sleight of hand with the working royals thing, which means that the taxpayer has the burden of funding only those members who "work" for the Crown, the definition of work being as elastic as you want, depending on the popularity of said working royal.

Harry and Meghan are out of the UK, out of your hair, you don't pay a tuppence for them.
