I actually really liked this video, it’s them doing what they have always done best. I want to see more things like this, hope it marks a change in tactics.

It also has a very “royal” feel: e.g. there have been recent reports about a split but they’re not arguing in the gutter they’re rising above it and proving them wrong, they’re using their spotlight to shine onto other people, etc.

Only criticism: why are they filming people on the phone?! Makes me think of The Apprentice 😂 use Zoom!!

Of course it's courting the camera's. They have one of the best PR firms in the business doing just that for them. They are complete publicity hounds.

I'm no fan of the RF but there are two huge differences in what they do:

  1. The RF have an official role representing the UK state- as such their congratulations have meaning even if they themselves aren't people who've achieved anything.
  1. The RF don't set up cameras at both ends of their phonecall to film people acting impressed by the 'surprise'.

You are joking...I've seen that with W&K more than once, and he even went one step further and pretended to cook in a burger van and set up people to act surprised when he turned round!

It's because they have over-egged it a bit there.

It's a newish organisation. There are 14 contributors. They should all be getting the credit.

I hope it's only the reporting (originally from US sources, repeated here) that is skewed. And that it's not an actual attempt to puff up Archewells's actual role (I saw one account that suggested they had provided the entire prize pot, and that is simply not true)

It certainly had a different vibe to their usual joint appearances, where she is always touching him and gazing adoringly at him. Maybe their PR are working with them in appearing more as a working professional duo rather than lovestruck teenagers.

Of course this is a pre arranged scenario and of course William’s was too. Because that is the way it is done. One is not more fake than the other. But some posters were insisting that William indulged in fakery and Harry didn’t. Which is clearly not the case. No need for your snark.

Of course one is more fake than the other. Williams is the day job. They do not hire photographers in to their home to watch them do rare altruistic acts to redeem their reputation.

Total eye roll for me ... as always they're trying to get themselves in front of cameras and make something about them, when firstly it's not them, secondly their arrogance of thinking they're a platform to thank people. They're always doing some bullocks in front of their photographers to promote themselves off the back of other peoples hard work - they're just exploiters - they've nothing themselves to shine, so they try to rub off someone else's shine 🙄

Fair point. I don't follow celebs so I hadn't realised in they'd got in on that sort of shit too.

Actually this has changed my mind. Since there seems to be a market for useless twats praising people in cringy videos I wholeheartedly support this new pound-shop version rather than us paying for a branded RF.
