H&M asked if they could have a lift home on AF1 after HMQs funeral. Environmentally friendly sure, but makes them look grabby and entitled again. Makes for a good story though.

I think it was something put out to draw attention away from the 45% increase in the SG year after next, the news of which broke shortly after.

I’ve been on a picket most of the day today - this was something which energised and disgusted many people.

Omid Scobie used to be Yahoo News’ royal reporter, but his bio on the site says he “was” their reporter from 2002 to 2023, and the last story under his byline was in March this year. Since March, he has tweeted these exclusive statements from the Sussexes to the world.

Yes Maireas. It was Omid Scobie who tweeted that “A Sussex spokesman confirms that Harry and Meghan will be travelling up to Scotland” - on the day QEII died, obviously. And then later he tweeted that Meghan, like Kate, would not be travelling to Baloral.

Wouldn’t H and M be more likely to use their very expensive PR and management to get messages out? OS might be somewhere in that food chain but I suspect a lot nearer the bottom than in Frogmore days.

The stuff he was getting wrong was nothing to do with information he had received from the Sussexes - it was stuff like saying the Queen’s body was coing back tot he UK from Scotland, and making reference to her being transported by a train fro Scotland, which at one stage been the plan, but was then amended for th coffin to be flown back to London. None of that was inside information, just careless errors.

Skullbabe, I believe Omid was the exclusive media source for the statements I attached above - they then got picked up and reported in by other outlets of course. If you can find reference to another outlet having the information before him, I would definitely be interested to see it.

(The point being, if he’s getting press releases, it presumably is in a personal capacity. And when he appears to have exclusives - well then, to me he’s engaged to disseminate their messages, not report on them)

Also he is working for several media companies - he is the ABC Royal correspondent, he works for Harpers Bazaar and Yahoo news. He is an actual journalist.

Sure he got the scoop re the travel to see the Queen but again sympathetic press is not a spokesperson and sympathetic press is not privy to all and everything otherwise we would claim that because Dan Wooten was correct about H&M wanting to leave means that he is a spokesperson for William and Kate.
