Omid Scobie writing tell all book

1000 replies

CosmosQueen · 29/06/2023 07:23

The biographer of the Duke and Duchess of Sussexwarned that his next book will reveal moments that the Royal family should be “ashamed of”.
Omid Scobie claimed he was one of few journalists writing about the Royal family whose work was impartial and “spin-free”

As such, he said his forthcoming book, provocatively titled Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, would focus on the negative as much as the positive and would shine a light on “unsolved mysteries”
“Endgame not only looks at the successes of our Royal family but also the failures; the things to be proud of and those they should be ashamed of,” he wrote in the I newspaper

Just when will this end? I feel so sorry for their poor children who will have to live with the knowledge that their parents and his obnoxious individual were prepared to do anything to make money.

I am telling you basic facts you can find yourself. She was never accused of perjury and did not commit perjury because she forgot an email sent to a member of staff that wasn't;t in her possession. In order to be accused or convicted you have to have lied intentionally. Not just misremembered or forgotten an email to your staff about something not relevant to the case in question. You are not the judge here are you. This is not a case of perjury. Now you keep saying you'll drop it. Perhaps you should.

It is not 'an interpretation'. It is fact. Nowhere is it said she committed perjury.

Except by you. On MN.

Wheresthebeach · 14/07/2023 12:47

She misled the court, and the public about her involvement. That's the point and it reflects on her character.

Even when she admits she mislead the court people twist in the wind to defend her. There is no way she 'forgot' that she helped Omid with his book - that's just disingenuous.

It never fails to astonish me how Meghan is attacked whatever she does and whenever she is quiet. As she is now.

Works both ways.

We know the reason people have to go on and on and on about it 5 years later. Because she must be a liar. Then they do not have to deal with the fact she was treated badly, we have a revolting press that sometimes behaves illegally and isn't overseen by an independent authority, and we have a monarchy that desperately needs to modernise, and has race issues within its institution. Nobody wants to reflect on the culture we have here and certainly we don;t want a fucking American telling us about ourselves. She has to be a liar, otherwise someone in that elitist nonsense institution is a racist. Brits prefer to point at America and say, we're not racist like them. When the finger points back, it doesn't go so well.

Really good post Iwantcakeeveryday

I think everyone bought in to the dream of H&M as this new modernising couple - they were well suited to the role and very good at engaging with crowds etc - but they felt almost insulted when Meghan pointed out that things in reality weren’t that great behind the scenes.

Not to mention that her solicitors put a witness statement from Omid himself in court too, in which he also denied the Duchess had given him any information at all for the book. 100% Omid knew that was a lie, yet somehow his and Meghan’s accounts are both consistent, and both untruthful. That’s a conspiracy to mislead the court.

As I said 2 months ago yet another embellishment of the truth

I have no idea what you said 2 months ago. Were you here then?!

I am sure it makes you very happy to talk of her lying continually and even to say she comitted perjury which has not been reported anywhere, except by you on here.

No you said, as I said 2 months ago'. You obviously NC which is fine. But perhaps you could point us to whatever you're talking about? with a NC we won't know what you said 2 months ago....

I'm not 'moving on'. All sorts of things are constantly being dragged up about things other RF members have done in the past. Charles and his behaviour towards Diana, Andrew's behaviour re Epstein and V Guiffre, Edward's behaviour at It's A Knockout, Prince Philip's behaviour since he was a teenager etc etc

One thing I'm noticing is that there is generally less interest in M&H in the media. Only the most extreme on both sides on Twitter post. The Jeremy Vine show had a M&H discussion the other day and they had no callers. The problem for M&H is when everyone stops talking about them. When it all gets stale and old.

Jason Knauf met with him, not Meghan. So Omid was truthful when he said he hadn't spoken with her.

If you dislike Meghan you will think it was deliberate. If you don't dislike her or are neutral, you will conclude the same as the judge, that it wasn't relevant or helpful to her case and was a mistake. Nobody involved accused them of a 'conspiracy to mislead the court', it had no relevance to the case about a letter published months earlier. Why would they conspire about something irrelevant to her claim? Theres no benefit.

Do you think there is a similar problem for the royals? Even here people don't talk about them much, theres way more conversation about M & H here. While you are correct things from everyone's past get raised in conversation here, you must admit there aren't entire threads about each and every little thing, that the focus is just on a couple that are apparently irrelevant.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 14/07/2023 15:21

I think the pro and anti Sussex thing has become a hobby on here with lots of arguments between posters which have little to do with the topic tbh. The rest of the RF just keep royalling. They're criticised for not having charisma but did Queen Victoria have charisma? Did George VI? There's the occasional anti-Kate thread which always covers the same ground.
As for Republicanism, I don't think Sir Keir Starmer will be starting the ball rolling any time soon.

I find it odd.

This is the Royal Family area on MN. There is barely anything on the actual Royal Family!
Charles Foundation had a celebration of 40 years, no one even mentioned it on here.
Buckingham Palace being open to the public with all the Coronation paraphernalia on display... nowt
C&C down in Cornwall... zilch.

I don't think that those that support the RF are actually that interested in the RF!

It's all Harry & Meghan from five years ago, roast chicken, 3 day wedding and all that stuff 😁

I was actually asking you about your comment that its a problem for M & H if people stop talking about them. If that's true for them , surely the same is true for the royals- and people talk about M & H much more than the rest.
