Harry and Meghan slammed by Spotify executive after podcast deal ends | The Independent

The old thread got closed, just as I was trying to quote tweet someone! So I've started this one, because this shitshow is still rumbling on

Hmmm you just said this thread was about the Sussex business plans and brand didn't you? Perhaps there should be a separate thread about Omid's book. It doesn't have anything to do with them, they're no longer working royals.

There is A separate thread 😊

I think they are running out of road for any more RF 'revelations'.

They need to find a niche for themselves that is about what they are for and then deliver on it.

Absolutely, TBH they should have been more FOR something in the first place and they'd both have been far happier.

It's almost like Sophie and the fake sheikh, I'll give you lots of money if you give me some access to the RF.

Except they weren't messing with a fake Sheikh, they were messing with Spotify etc

I don't think they released how tight the RF could be to close them out, stop any more stories, and starve them of material. Protect their own privacy.

He'll be the only one daft enough to talk to him so yes, it'll be all down to Harry. Finding Freedom vol 2 if you like. Which they did not collude in but they did.

Yes the fact he has worked for Harper's Bazaar, ABC news US weekly even before Meghan came on the scene is obviously irrelevant 😳

Roussette · 29/06/2023 18:37

Protect their own privacy

Yeah the RF are very good at that. It's not what we know, its what we don't know

Roussette · 29/06/2023 18:38

I'll leave you all to it, off to a BBQ
Enjoy your thread

Oh do Harpers bizarre, ABC news and US weekly have direct comms to Harold? If not , I'm not sure what your point is. You said despairingly 'it'll be all down to Harry of course' I'm merely agreeing, like Finding Freedom yes it will be.

The same US Weekly referred to here in MN as "Another Sussex hate site" ?

Qbish · 29/06/2023 18:46

But it's not all down to Harry, is it?! Omid is Meghan's hire.

Thank you for this. I was looking for this info because I thought OS was in his 20s so came along at the same time as Meghan. But he's 40! Unbeievable. He looks so young. So I wondered what he was doing before her marriage. What sort of areas did he write about, do you know?

Maireas · 29/06/2023 18:52

Ah, but @Qbish , to be fair, Meghan completely forgot that she gave information to Scobie. As you would.

Whatever this book says it will all be down to Harry of course 😮

Given that Harry and Meghan were proved to have provided information for his previous book (despite denying it, and it being proved that they lied forgot), I don't think it is unreasonable to think they might have done the same for this book.

ArcaneWireless · 29/06/2023 19:11

I’d be quite interested in a book by Omid if he ever falls out of favour.

I think before going on OW you need to be sure of your facts ... They must have discussed what they were going to talk about

I'm pretty certain Oprah insisted they didn't know what questions were going to be asked?
For all I know someone might actually believe it, just as they may have believed the faked headlines were the originals ... all of which makes me wonder if anything this couple come out with can be taken as fact

I don't think Oprah lied about that but we do know that Oprah and Harry had done a mental health series together in which Harry spoke about his problems and his history. And we know the three of them discussed the interview together beforehand. So I'm sure Oprah outlined what she was going to ask within that conversation because she said she wasn't looking to trip them up, just give them a platform for them to say their truth. So it wouldn't difficult for the couple to predict the questions they'd be asked. And it's clear they knew what points they wanted to make and put on the table.

I think the book will be a big let down for many people on this board because it will have very little about H&M.

Milcar · 29/06/2023 20:03

Well, it might be a Guardian-style, investigative journalst covering constitutional law, economic analysis and a critical political assessment of aspects of the monarchy, in principle and in practice.

It might be.

Looking at his past work... well, it might not be.

skullbabe · 29/06/2023 19:44

There can't be anything left to share about Harry surely. No, the point is it will be gossip gained from 'anonymous sources' which is ironic as it what folk like Scobie have always been so sniffy about.

Littlethingsmeanalot · 29/06/2023 20:14

Is anyone even going to buy that daft book. How much money can folks continue to make about the British royal family. It has to be past saturation now surely.

Sugarfree23 · 29/06/2023 20:23

What have H&M got to say about the Coronation,
H went, didn't see C because he was too busy, during the service his view was obscured by Auntie feathers, he returned came home ASAP for Archies birthday

skullbabe · 29/06/2023 20:29

Precisely - the book is about the Monarchy post the death of Elizabeth and how it navigates a different era. But again because Scobie is writing it people can’t contemplate that this book isn’t about H&M. Many people forget that Omid was a co-author on Finding Freedom and it’s really interesting how his co author (Carolyn Durand) never gets a mention.

Milcar · 29/06/2023 20:30

He has kept a higher profile, certainly

skullbabe · 29/06/2023 20:32

And yet books are churned out by journalists and historians every year about the Royal Family. I have Dr Tessa Dunlop’s book about Elizabeth and Philip on my wish list. People like to read about them.
