Harry and Meghan slammed by Spotify executive after podcast deal ends | The Independent

The old thread got closed, just as I was trying to quote tweet someone! So I've started this one, because this shitshow is still rumbling on

And Meghan, of course. She was happy enough to weigh in with the "they asked about my baby's skin colour" comments, tarring everyone in the RF. Only for Harry to insist they weren't accusing anyone of racism. I mean, make your mind up.

'Would I want my children to see me write negative post after negative post for days and months on end about the same person?'

Wonder what Harry's kids will think when they see the reality shows, chat shows, books interviews that he has done all containing negative attacks on his UK family?

Nothing Harry has said is at all comparable to the things written on this board and elsewhere online about him or his wife. Ive read the book, watched the Netflix. Nothing remotely like the nasty things said that I reference above and even worse. He does NOT spend every day criticising his family. Its laughable that you think his telling of his life is at all like the comments on this thread and board. Laughable.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 29/06/2023 16:32

they asked about my baby's skin colour"

Good for her. They did. SO did Danny Baker, Neo nazis who are now in prison for it, a white supremacist blogger who called Archie an abomination, and a group of met police officers. Racists need to be called out.

Also if you notice that your underpinnings aren’t doing what they’re supposed to - I sometimes wonder if Camilla has forgotten to put her bra on because sometimes she looks very well supported and then other times…^^

sometimes she looks very well supported and then other times…^^

Shouldn't that be "then other times...vv?

You are right. None of it is the same. Because everything written by anonymous nobodies on social media platforms, where threads are here today and gone tomorrow and definitely forgotten in years to come, is nothing like the 5th in line to the throne changing the course of British history by monetising his grudges against the RF in a series of tell all publications and interviews - that will go into the annals of history.

I know people will criticise me for defending Meghan but to be fair to her, she wasn’t there, she heard this story through Harry and retold it. She also has her knowledge of titles and security arrangements through Harry. So maybe he misrepresented what happened to impress her (like “check me out, I stood up to my racist family for you babe”) and didn’t expect her to repeat it.

Gracewithoutend · 29/06/2023 16:52

Thats not what I heard. He's just not saying it in public every day.

But her good friends clearly aren't telling her.

There was a woman in her late 40s in my hairdressers wearing leggings. She looked fine from the front but at the back where they were a bit stretched, you could see right through. Now, I would contend most normal women don't want to be walking around showing off their squashed, utilitarian and imperfectly positioned underwear. But at the same time I don't want to be rude nor make her feel uncomfortable. So I waited til her hair was finished, she has her coat on and she'd left the shop. Then I ran after her, where no one could hear, and I quickly mentioned it and ran back inside. She'll see me again and I've given her the hope that no one else she knows has ever noticed.

I can't tell Meghan in person or I would. She's ruining the line of her beautiful clothes and I think a moment of embarrassment is worth a lifetime of confidence in and admiration of your style.

Your post is absolutely nothing to do with a stream of horrible posts about Meghan's eyes, her skin, her hair, her body shape, her ability to look awful in clothes, her boxy shape, her horrible smile, her bra, and so on

What on earth do Meghan's friends need to tell her?! Are you saying she looks shit 99% of the time? I think she looks fab nearly all of the time. There's been a couple of outfits I haven't liked but that's it
We're not talking about someone who is in the public eye and looks dreadful

Who in the RF asked about Archie's skin colour? Because we know nobody asked Meghan. From Harry's account, a person who shall remain anonymous mentioned something to him - not her - something which he has refused to recount, something that happened prior to them even being married let alone pregnant, something he describes as unconscious bias. In Harry's own words, they never called the RF racist.

Meghan left that particular piece of BS hanging in the air in the Oprah interview, and all the inferences of racism that come with it. The finger was being pointed at everyone in the RF - although Gayle King subsequently assured everyone it wasn't QE2 or PP, info she could only have received from M&H. Why didn't they correct the inference of racism too? Why did they wait 2 years until Harry's Anderson Cooper interview?

Howsimplywonderful · 29/06/2023 16:59

@tigger2022

I think before going on OW you need to be sure of your facts.

They must have discussed what they were going to talk about and she should have ‘double checked her facts with him’.

she was quite happy to spin the tale she was ‘trapped’ the palace with her passport taken away (when making 13 private foreign trips) so she was quite aware of the narrative she was telling.

Being called racist is worse than racism - in fact there is no worse crime than being called a racist. The royal family are well known for their egalitarian views on race and gender and it is shocking to even presuppose that an institution built on the wealth of commonwealth countries could even be thought of as racist. Good god woman. Give yourself a shake.

Too right. It absolutely unconscionable for anyone to even think that asking about a potential child’s skin colour is in any way racist.

But the person who kept track all the horrible things people said about her, included in the list she needed new underwear.
I said not new underwear but I think she needs new strapless bras that don't cause bulging. That's not being horrible. I'd hope my friends would tell me rather than letting go on like that. Fortunately I have a sister who fulfils that function. 🙄😄
I called her clothes beautiful. But the ill fitting bra distracts the eye and makes them not look so nice. How is that saying she looks shit 99% of the time? How often does she wear strapless bras?
I don't think she looks fab nearly all the time but then I don't think Kate does either. I do think they both look clean and tidy so it doesn't matter if I like what they're wearing or not.
I don't know why you're so cross because I think she needs better-fitting strapless bras

LadyMuckingabout · 29/06/2023 17:17

I think Meghan generally looks great (not the Hertz dress tho!) but the thing is when you are merching stuff you have to be sure it looks its best. Even from the baby shower Meghan was getting “backhanders” for displaying items so, for that reason, I would say the public have the right to say if they dislike an outfit. I agree that pulling apart her personal appearance is dubious, but I think her “Lady Macbeth” demeanor in the Oprah interview merited comment.

Oh I liked the Hertz dress! Meghan’s wardrobe sometimes frustrates me because it looks like it’s off the shelf or designed for somebody else with a totally different body, but the Hertz dress actually fitted her and I thought it looked great

It's a good try - make a round up of the most extreme posts, and then use them to try and shut down discussions you don't like by trotting them out.

Challenge the extreme comments when they are posted. They are not an effective argument against posts that are not extreme and are discussing - even criticising! - the way individals have chosen to behave.

That wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. You only have to read what he's written and watch what he's said, to see the inconsistencies. And he's not the brightest spark.

I am terribly sorry, please forgive me 😄

tigger2022 · 29/06/2023 17:38

Ok I said I wasn’t going to talk about Kate’s clothes anymore but I’m allowed one more time: when Kate is doing her relatable mum off-the-rack-last-season-from-Zara look, she does actually get those clothes fitted. So she could be wearing F&F or George at ASDA and it would look like the clothes were made for her. Comparatively the lack of proper fitting or tailoring makes some of Meghan’s outfits look last minute or off the rack or like they were intended for someone else. Her stylists don’t seem to pay enough attention to detail because it’s such a basic thing that would elevate her look - if it actually fit her! It annoys me, I feel like I could do a better job, hire me Meghan 😂

Actually, as I said, that wasn't even a particularly bad day. Much much worse is said here. On a daily business. I am not 'trotting them out to shutdown discussion'. It is my opinion and this is a forum for everyone, not just you and people who think the same as you. I believe my comment was relevant to what I think is happening on these threads.

marzipanbattenburg · 29/06/2023 17:43

Can someone please post a link to a picture showing this badly fitting bra business.

I really have no clue what you mean and this is information that I need to have.

Milcar · 29/06/2023 17:43

Well, I certainly can't stop you from criticising posters on this thread for what a different poster said (on a different thread). It does smack of desparation, though, if you can't find anything more relevant to say in response.
