Harry and Meghan slammed by Spotify executive after podcast deal ends | The Independent

The old thread got closed, just as I was trying to quote tweet someone! So I've started this one, because this shitshow is still rumbling on

Spotify executive hits out at Harry and Meghan after podcast deal ends

Sussexes inked three-year $25m deal with audio company but produced just one series of content

'If he wants to write a book and right some wrongs, that's fine by me.'

Would it be fine by you if Markle Senior wrote a book righting the wrongs that Harold has spouted? I would guess not, because he's awful to breach their privacy but they are fiiiine to breach other's privacy 🤔.

You tie yourself in knots on these threads.

I will be as careful as possible here. You are obviously a huge fan of TM as I was waiting for you to bring him up. You always do.

He is a dreadful man for very very many reasons that have been quoted on these threads countless times

You having to use TM as someone worthy is tying yourself in knots, if you want to go down that route and be personal

'The context of the conversation was someone quoted a poem saying she thought of that when she thought of all the bad things written about Megan. People are simply pointing out the Sussex’s are guilty of worse'

Exactly.

Do you know the words of the poem?
If you do, it makes sense

Everyone does , it’s actually linked on the thread. And I’m not sure how referencing her father makes her a huge fan.

Howsimplywonderful · 29/06/2023 14:37

you may think the Sussex’s are rising, others may think they are sinking into a pool of their own hubris. We will have to just wait and see.

I'm not a fan of his in the slightest.

However without a doubt the Sussexes made themselves look stupid for cutting TM off and then doing far worse themselves.

'I always bring him up'. That's like me saying you always bring up Prince Andrew, so by your rationale you must be a huge fan of his?!

Roussette · 29/06/2023 14:43

I give up. If you think he is a good father in all he has done, there is no point to this conversation
I never bring up PA inferring he is hard done by, unlike you with TM.
Both those men have behaved appallingly
Never seen you say that about TM, unlike my endless posts about PA.

I wasn't referring to the Sussexes when I shared it, just Meghan. The poem reminds me of many women of colour who have been treated poorly, who have had people salivate at the thought of their failure, their harassment, their destruction. I think of myself, my mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Meghan is just one of the women I think of now when I hear it and on a board that has multiple threads dedicated to discussing her and her downfall, I think its really relevant.
In one morning alone, just a few hours a week or so ago, the following was discussed about her on this board:
she has an odd boxy shape
she has beady eyes, she stares too much
her bad hair extensions
She irons her hair too much
Everything she wears doesn't fit because of her shape
Gurning face with an air of superiority
She needs new underwear
Her clothes don't ever fit
She's had too much work done on her face
She's too short to wear Dior clothes
She's not ageing well, she has mature skin
Her proportions are awkward
her children are not hers

And that was actually not the worst morning on here for nasty criticisms. For a forum full of women and parents, it's rather distasteful to say the least.

I haven't at any point said he is a good father.

I have said repeatedly what the Sussexes have done to the rf is as bad if not worse as what he did to them.

Are we referring to what the Sussex Squad say about Catherine on Twatter?

Iwantcakeeveryday · 29/06/2023 14:50

I clearly stated it was all from a single thread here @Janiie and about Meghan.

Most of those things were said about Catherine on a recent thread but I suppose that you ?

For what it’s worth I don’t think women should be criticising other women’s shape .

Mylovelygreendress · 29/06/2023 14:50
  • that’s ok
Iwantcakeeveryday · 29/06/2023 14:52

What? I don't know what this sentence is meant to be saying. I do not go on threads that tear apart, or complement, women's bodies or image. I don't want to indulge in any of it personally because I think we should stop focussing on appearance.

Rhondaa · 29/06/2023 14:52

Iwantcakeeveryday · 29/06/2023 14:50

Yes I was being a bit facetious. Pointing out all this shit is directed at The Princess of Wales too, usually by Sussex fans.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 29/06/2023 14:53

I do not see multiple threads tearing apart Kate, anticipating her downfall, discussing who will get her children and if she birthed them, on a daily basis, here.

Rhondaa · 29/06/2023 14:56

Iwantcakeeveryday · 29/06/2023 14:53

Well she doesn't generate huge amounts of divisive discussion by going on chat shows and reality shows moaning and making shit up like Harold and his wife do.

Gettingbysomehow · 29/06/2023 14:56

If people spoke about me like this in the papers, magazines and on tv/forums I'd probably kill myself.
I don't understand why bitching about the Sussex's is such a hobby for some people.
I have a fulfilling life of my own, I don't need to scrutinise other peoples lives.

skullbabe · 29/06/2023 14:58

I see so Meghan deserves it - good to know

And what about if your relatives wrote a book about you detailing every petty negative thing you’d ever done and made some more up and threw it in for good measure?

Howsimplywonderful · 29/06/2023 15:01

When people try to rise by standing on others, like the Sussex’s tried to do, I don’t feel much sympathy for them.
^^

The Sussexes deserve most of the negative criticism they get, yes.

Let's not forget they wanted half in half out, Sussex royal USA. They were told no and chucked all their toys out of their pram.

They do seem to have realised their oversharing was not helping so perhaps have decided ro grow up and move on. We can but hope.

We are talking about on here.
Posters whose names you will know.
We are talking about Mumsnet. A forum for women

Well said @Iwantcakeeveryday
I saw those sort of comments
If I remember correctly it was last week and posters joining in with some new fresh insult about her. I was honestly shocked

Yet a poem offends?

*Yes I was being a bit facetious. Pointing out all this shit is directed at The Princess of Wales too, usually by Sussex fans

Absolutely untrue. I have never ever said anything like that about Kate. And didn't post on that thread about her, that had nothing like the amount of insults Iwantcake listed. It was extremely mild in comparison

Roussette · 29/06/2023 15:07

The Sussexes deserve most of the negative criticism they get, yes

So Meghan deserves that list of insults which were a small part of what was actually posted.
😮

skullbabe · 29/06/2023 14:58

Yes, that's the classic line isn't it? It happens to other women too, throughout history its happened. It even happens to victims of actual crimes. There are always women who deserve it. People will excuse absolutely anything if they decide someone deserves it and that someone is female. After one week of stuff about Schofield he comes out saying its making him suicidal and it ends, he even had Piers Morgan defending him. This shit has been going on years with Meghan now.

Abhannmor · 29/06/2023 15:10

Wheresthebeach · 28/06/2023 18:48

Did someone declare open season on them? He was talking to Piers Morgan but still.

Sir Trevor Phillips:
Meghan Markle 'had to learn how to be black on the job' after marrying Prince Harry but 'made a bit of a mess of it', it has been claimed.
Sir Trevor Phillips said the Duchess of Sussex, 41, 'never regarded herself particularly as black' before joining the Royal Family, which he said was 'understandable' due to her privileged upbringing.
But the race and equality campaigner claimed Meghan then failed to 'take advice' after becoming a princess and 'squandered the opportunity' to demonstrate the diversity of Britain.

Trevor Phillips 😂 he who said that anyone talking about Class is in a 70s time warp.

Fuck off Clever Trevor you privileged tosser. Go in to bat for for the Royal Family but don't pretend to be Labour.
