I think if they are going to split it will happen in the next 18months, when they are isolated from family except Doria, and they are hitting financial pressures, different pressure to normal people but pressure,

I think she'd bounce along.

He will really struggle, and Charles is a soft character he will have him back. It takes a real hard character to turn their back on their own kids.

Roussette · 24/06/2023 13:47

Some people can barely hide their excitement at the thought of them splitting up. 😮

We've seen it time and time again on these threads, speculation about who Meghan will marry next, the Monarch having rights over the children, Harry crawling back home begging to be forgiven.
It's crass

I think some forget there are two little children involved here 🙁😮

I think they are perfectly happy and hope, as I would for anyone, that they continue on with their marriage and happiness.

When they first got married we had poster after poster saying "I'll give it a year". Then in usual goalpost moving, it was two, then three, then imminent, and so on.

Speculation in hope like this is yuk. And before anyone says differently I have said a number of times that there is absolutely no way W&K will split up in my opinion

Sugarfree23 · 24/06/2023 14:00

@Roussette what's you thoughts on what's next for them?

Their business deals seem to be failing because they aren't producing the goods.

And what has W&K got to do with a H&M thread?

Thoughts on their marriage?

No idea. They come across as happy.

I mentioned W&K purely for the reason that when I've said before I think H&M are happy in their marriage, posters jump in telling me I've speculated on W&K splitting up
I haven't.

I was pre-empting the inevitable

No one gets married thinking they're going to split up. But it happens. No one can predict the future. But as I've said repeatedly, I dont see them splitting up. Hey were clearly inclined when they got married. They look happy to me. They have a lovely family. A lovely home. A lovely life. The same with William and Kate. And Charles and Camilla. I think it's great that they all seem so happy together.

Although there's always the caveat that Harry says that you can't trust anything you see about the royal family. And that he portrayed for years that he was happy when he wasn't. So who knows with Harry. But we don't need to wonder too much, because if they ever did get a divorce, I'm sure he'd soon be involved in a book and a documentary of his truth to enlighten us all.

Wheresthebeach · 24/06/2023 14:40

We know that Spare was ghost written. So someone else did the hard graft and Harry provided the information. The question is can Harry actually work in the way we all do? I’m not sure he can. MM can work, promote and graft in the real world- whatever you may think of her it’s clear she’s been successful in her own right. Anyone who makes the sort of money she has understands work.

Sugarfree23 · 24/06/2023 15:37

He must have been able to work when he was in the army, he might have got some leeway but probably not much.

Earning a wage from the Army and trying to rake in millions being a celebrity is two very different ball games.

I can see how top actors, top musicians, comediens, entertainers, sports people make big money, I just don't see how a couple make money 'being a celebrity'.

tigger2022 · 24/06/2023 15:42

I think the army was the one job he could do and did well but he’s burned bridges there

Ohpleeeease · 24/06/2023 16:22

I’ve just read Spare (digital library unexpectedly had it available) and I found it a compelling read. The whole middle section of the memoir is about his Army service, and it’s where the book comes alive.

Harry isn’t a thinker, or a planner, or even much of a dreamer. He wants to be active and in the thick of things. He wants to make a difference. And he wants to do it without cameras shoved in his face.

I have no idea how you reconcile that with the life he’s living in California, which looks about as vapid and inconsequential as it gets.

Maireas · 24/06/2023 16:36

I think, @Ohpleeeease his original and often discussed plan to work in conservation in Africa may have been a good idea. It would have been possible to live and work in a reasonably low key way, not seeking celebrity lifestyle. However, I do wonder if, in spite of everything, he does thrive on the attention.

Yea…and in the army you are told what to do and when. So need to think for yourself or self motivate.

Wheresthebeach · 24/06/2023 16:46

Gah ‘no need’

Maireas · 24/06/2023 16:48

Yes, @Wheresthebeach - his life was very controlled for him up until that point.

LadyMuckingabout · 24/06/2023 16:48

Whatever, I really think Harry must be wondering how he ended up in California a million times more in the news and discussed than he has ever been. I don’t believe for a micro-second that was his plan. It’s like Revolutionary Road when the wife says their agreement was to go to “Europe” and the husband says fine here, thanks. Harry thought he was going to find freedom in Africa or at least Canada, not be the clown Prince of Hollywood living a life of schmoozing and hustling.

Ohpleeeease · 24/06/2023 16:54

@Maireas one of the many interesting things in the book was that William was apparently very against him working in Africa, seeing big game conservation as his own territory. They argued about it. So perhaps it was never in the cards, even before Megxit. It’s a shame, because I think he might have made a real go of it.

Or Harry is just finding someone else to blame for his life choices. I think he too thin skinned for the life he’s chosen.

Spare was ghost written @Wheresthebeach ? Clutching my pearls rn, I picked it up and thought he was do strangely articulate. Now it makes sense 🙀

Having read it, I completely agree with this.

JR Moehringer. He’s discussed it quite openly.

cassiatwenty · 24/06/2023 17:44

Thanks @Wheresthebeach I can't believe I didn't know about it until today. Ah Harry, back to instructing Yoga/Pilates lessons or recreating the Kardashians

I bet many people in LA would pay for Hot Yoga classes with Harry the Prince

maranella · 24/06/2023 18:16

It will take years but I think he could make his way back to the RF.

I think Charles would help him tomorrow, if Harry asked. William, no, I think William is furious with him and the hurtful things he said about himself and Kate. But he'll always be Charles' son.

I'm not so sure as H has been awful about Camilla and Charles is very very protective about her.

I still think he'd help Harry, if Harry went to him and asked, to his face. What I've read in several publications is that Charles is baffled and hurt by Harry's behaviour, which I'm sure he is. But if Harry needed or wanted to return to this country and live a quiet life somewhere, I feel pretty certain that Charles would facilitate it, if asked. I suspect William would get him to take a running jump, so if Harry wants to reconcile with the monarch, he needs to do it while Charles is on the throne.

notimagain · 24/06/2023 18:40

Yea…and in the army you are told what to do and when

Thing in is any of the services if you hope to progress to senior Officer rank you are increasingly expected to display initiative and be a motivator.....

Harry didn't leave as a senior Officer..........

SaxSick · 24/06/2023 18:43

I doubt H would ever come back. He will be like the Duke of Windsor living a life abroad and always bitter , still expecting people to be beholden to him.
