if Harry had his head screwed on, he could have become a patron of SSAFA the Armed Forces Charity that would have been highly compatible with his military background. He could have been a force for good, promoting the good work it does alongside all the associated military charities. Instead he'd sooner waste his time navel-gazing woe-is-me in a court room fighting battles he can't hope to win. He has really lost his way, and squandered his privileged background

very true, and very sad.

such a waste.

and the saddest thing of all is that he looks miserable.

What is “unfortunate” about anybody having a family resemblance?

being “attractive” is a superficial, external characteristic. It tells us nothing about the person, other than that they look a certain way.

I’d rather admire someone for the genuine work they do and their ethics than their looks. Unfortunately we live in a world which is becoming more and superficial.

starrynight21 · 17/06/2023 09:57

Prince Edward already did a very good series on Royal history - you can see them on You Tube. It's obvious that he really loves the subject . I doubt that Harry could do any better than that, he isn't exactly a known history buff .

jeffgoldblum · 17/06/2023 09:57

Problem I see with the charity ideas , they want to make money, none of the charity ideas will generate enough cash .

Howsimplywonderful · 17/06/2023 10:02

I’d rather listen to Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook talk about royal history than Harry.

ThePoshUns · 17/06/2023 10:05

Phoebo · 17/06/2023 06:51

I don't want to be really mean and descriptive, but she really isn't attractive at all. Even when young, she definitely wasn't pretty. She seems like a great person, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying she's not attractive and that's what sells magazines

Have you seen photos of her in her 20s? Incredibly attractive, not conventionally pretty ( which is boring imo).

StartupRepair · 17/06/2023 10:05

Harry has no discernible interest in or appreciation of history. He certainly failed at conveying anything to Meghan about the constitutional role of the monarch.
I think it would be quite frustrating listening to this ignorance displayed across a podcast.

LadyMuckingabout · 17/06/2023 10:10

And he had no idea what the Commonwealth was. As a previous “working royal” his ignorance was a disgrace. If he had been a regular employee he’d have been put on an improvement plan!

Howsimplywonderful · 17/06/2023 10:17

Exactly. He has no interest in history, it would all have to be done for him.

Gracewithoutend · 17/06/2023 10:20

Tyler Perry has just bought two tv networks. I'm sure he'll bankroll them through that if they get desperate.

And isn't WME due to announce work that Meghans going to be doing soon? Or maybe they'll wait till after the Invictus documentary.

sashagabadon · 17/06/2023 10:25

Ok so my podcast idea is bad 😁
but to be clear I wasn’t thinking of Harry talking about History more like him learning about it from actual experts who could talk about it! Hopefully he would be asking insightful questions and adding a bit of fun 🤔
English history is a huge topic in itself and then Scottish history could take another couple of years then welsh then Irish, then French etc. it would keep him gainfully employed for decades 😂
Roman history could be covered from Emperor Claudius and his arrival in Britannia. Although apparently Julius Caesar arrived here too

Maireas · 17/06/2023 10:34

I don't think it's a bad idea @sashagabadon , just not a good one for Harry.

Elior · 17/06/2023 10:35

I think Princess Anne was really attractive. One of the reasons for this is that she always worked with her natural features. Even back then, there were some tweakments around but she rose above all that celebrity super-vanity.
I do not have a problem with anti aging surgeries. One day, I may well have it myself.
However, people altering the size and shape of their actual facial features while seeking praise for beauty is an inferior way to behave for a royal because they already have the attention and the status in the right domains to be best in their roles. It is probably why celebrities cannot become royal because they would usually have already gone down the other route and will not be able to distinguish between the differing requirements and expectations of the two roles.

Isn't she penning the world's greatest lurve story about the world's greatest lovers while keeping her meeting with California's premier divorce attorney all hushed up? 😀

I love me some history. Without visuals it would need to have a lot of light relief to give me a chance to absorb.
But I'd give it a listen.

You don't make millions year on year presenting documentaries.

LadyMuckingabout · 17/06/2023 10:44

Harry could do a Horrible Histories thing - dressing up and clowning around. In fact he could do a good Bill & Ted….

Is Tyler Perry still their mate? A freedom of information request to the LAPD revealed that the paparazzi circling over TP’s house when H&M were living there had actually been alerted by the Sussex people.

CathyorClaire · 17/06/2023 10:45

I thought the fans told us that they remained in the Top 10 all the way through?

I caught a snippet of discussion this morning suggesting the way the figures were massaged calculated may have had something to do with it but I've no idea how or even if it was done.

@Elior - is she going further down the Fergie route that started with The Bench?

EpicAdventure · 17/06/2023 10:51

I read in spare (library copy so can't check) that they (Harry at least) don't want to spend the inheritance from Diana because they see it as belonging to their children.

Which is all well and good but results in, it seems, scrabbling around for other ready sources of income.

Dan Jones does an excellent podcast. And is a respected historian, who has written many books.

im not sure Harry has the necessary knowledge to carry a history podcast off. Of course, someone else could write it and he could be credited as the narrator.

They could do rhyming titles The Bench, The Trench, The Wench, The Stench. If Harry had the ability, he could write about his experience of being a prince in California "The Maharajah Of Montecito" who spends his days chasing chickens, juggling and sitting on a certain bench.

TrashyPanda · 17/06/2023 10:55

@EpicAdventure - I recall Harry said he wanted his dad to pay for him because he wanted to keep his own money for his kids.

the irony is strong.

as is the entitlement.

You wanted to earn your own money, but were told you couldn’t monetarist the RF, so you left. But you still want your Dad to pay for you, instead of earning your own money.

just doesn’t make any sense.
