The children have come from Islington and Brixton schools. They have been invited because of projects their schools are doing around horticulture. Surely that's a good thing? These kids don't deserve to be brought into this rubbish. I would be gutted if my ds had been invited to something like this, only for so called adults to be using his picture for a cheap, nasty meme.

Exactly, one in particular involves a little girl with dwarfism and her facial expression as she turns to the camera is being used in social media to attack Catherine. I think one of the posters here has mentioned that her mother has now come out and was upset that her own daughter was being used to bully Catherine, as her daughter has experienced bullying herself and actually enjoyed her meeting with the Princess of Wales. The little girl is also being bullied by extension because her facial expression is also being mocked by these Sussex fans.

@MamoruHisaishi I think the person you are addressing was a prolific poster who has name changed after making an unforgivable remark. If I'm deleted, I'll know this is true because that's their MO. Hopefully you see this first.

I would think the only one who's silly here is you for being so bothered that I called someone Catherine instead of Kate. If it bothers you so much, simply stop reading or ignore the thread.

I think she can be criticised for it, all she does is pay lip service and do photo ops, she doesn't seem to demonstrate any real in-depth knowledge, or indeed effort, in her charities. If she didn't know this basic fact then how much interest does she really take in them? So many of them have failed too.

MamoruHisaishi · 28/05/2023 22:02

queentim · 28/05/2023 16:40

And?

Is no one allowed to criticize Kate? Kate fans have been criticizing Meghan and coming up with deranged theories since Harry began dating her.

So you think it’s perfectly fine that kids, including those who are disabled, are being used to bully Catherine? And you're right, there are anti Sussex fans out there who are equally as deranged as some of these Sussex fans are, and they have been called out on the media and there's been discussion about them in these forums. But now that Catherine is the one who is experiencing the bullying, it is to be dismissed or minimized?

Thanks polkadot, was truly shocked at the nastiness of some of their posts.

Criticized for what? For having photos with kids with varying facial expressions? Whatever issues you may have with Catherine, it doesn't justify bringing innocent children into this attack on her. It's as simple as that, the fans should leave kids out of it.

Who are you referring to, is it me? Speak to me directly, if so. I have not made any "unforgivable remark", if so what was it?

You have made quite a lot of unforgivable remarks yourself.

No wonder productivity in this country is heading downwards. To think that instead of focusing on productive activities, this is the childish nonsense that grown women are engaging in. It’s these same people who expect their idle lifestyle to be funded by those who have no such time to spend following Kate and Meghan and Royal Family drama.

No, criticised for not knowing about the Action for Children CEO, one of the charities she's supposedly interested in.

I repeat, why? The man was lawfully employed with full knowledge of his past. He has as been previously stated, dedicated his life to preventing others from repeating his actions. How is it relevant that the Princess didn’t know? As @Serenster says, she is not CEO and even if she were, a CEO has no need to know about all their employees backgrounds. Or are you saying the man was a danger? In which case, why was he employed in the first place? You said you were not criticising the charity for employing him, yet it is their decision and nothing to do with the Princess. You seem to be obtusely ignoring this when it is pointed out to you.

Serenster · 28/05/2023 22:42

The man has been an employee of the charity for 30 years. The charity has confirmed that when he was appointed to the role of CEO in March the Palace was informed about his past. Clearly the tabloids and some posters are just stirring.

Howsimplywonderful · 28/05/2023 23:09

Using a disabled child to try to score points against Kate is beyond nasty.

Shame on them.

Haywirecity · 28/05/2023 23:14

Honestly, op, I wouldn't worry about it. The RF are something we grew up and are just...there. We're used to them getting out and about, meeting all sorts of different peoole in all sorts of different places. They're not really celebrities. They're head of state and just sort part of the furniture.
I don't think a group of young people on twitter are going to sway public opinion one way or the other. They're just a bit 🥱. They'll grow up soon and find their families, jobs and interests fill their time so much more.

This topic is about the sussex fans using children to bully another person. Why are you chanting the topic and deflecting? If you wanna discuss about this individual create a thread about it.

I'm not against criticism against the monarchy or even Catherine, especially if they're valid criticisms. What I'm calling out is the use of children to bully another person, especially disabled kids. If it's not such a big deal, we wouldn't have had many articles from the guardian or the New York Times about the harrassment that Meghan went through on social media. Some of the people who have used the photos of kids to bully Catherine are famous people themselves. They're not just anonymous young people on Twitter.

I take it you're not gainfully employed yourself to waste your time on a thread llike this? Why are you so offended that people choose to post threads like these? It's none of your business what I do with my time, what others do with their time. Focus on yourself, and no, I work a full time job and I don't get government support so think again before you make unfounded accusations against others.

My friend, responding to a thread that popped up on Active this morning is a world of a difference from obsessing about the Royal Family and deeply analysing social media stuff about them and their “fans”.

Get help for this nonsense. It is destroying our society. So much uneducated hate swirling around on social media. Stop adding to it. You do not know these people. Focus on your life.

@MamoruHisaishi

I’d ignore that poster. Highly unpleasant comments

RoseAndRose · 29/05/2023 07:27

What year are we? It’s only now that these kids, given the chance to be in a 99% white space, will be inspired to take up gardening?

The schools weren't picked to show them the show as a one-off. They are all part of the RHS school gardening programme, so their exposure mainly comes from that.

And it's the schools themselves who choose to join that scheme, and, if they get invited to any of the flower shows or events at Wisley or the other permanent gardens, it's also the schools who choose which pupils go.

Okay so the Chelsea Flower Show had no active initiative in inviting these kids? Adds another laughable dimension to this as it would appear that they do not give a hoot about diversity and inclusion and would be happy to continue with the nearly 100% white-only space.

The RHS run the Chelsea Flower show. It’s their show. They have multiple other ones up and down the country.
it’s called the Chelsea flower show as this particular one is in Chelsea. The one in Hampton Court is called the Hampton Court flower show etc etc. anyone can buy tickets and go along.
the RHS is the Royal Horticultural Society and they have gardens , a very useful website, run courses togain qualifications and have annual flower shows and invite groups to them.
