I've probably garbled that, but that's the gist of it.

there are 33 incidents of breaches of privacy that need heavy scrutiny to get to the bottom of whether they were really obtained in an illegal manner

Given Harry's known attitudes I rather doubt he wants anything "getting to the bottom of"; much more likely that he simply expects his word to be taken for it, as we've seen with the interviewers he's chosen

Unfortunately for him that's not how things work in the real world, but I don't suppose staff would have been willing to tell him that in his previous life, and it's hard to say whether there's anyone available to do it now

Best just hope he turns up tomorrow I suppose ...

There are less flags days now than there were under the late QEII

None would be the ideal 😎

And yet there's been barely any - if at all - of that over the past couple of weeks.

Caveat: I don't read these threads religiously, I'm going off titles in the top part of this board and the last few I have read.

People are discussing, debating and stating various opinions quite calmly, freely and respectfully.

Out of interest, how long is Harry due to be over here for? Hasn't he got his second case coming up soon too? Wonder if he'll arrive on time for that one.

MayQueeen · 05/06/2023 22:02

‘StartupRepair
So Harry was actually in the UK but just resting up after the flight instead of turning up to court as required?’

Oh really? I thought he was still in the US, if he was here in the UK and using the jet lag excuse - can see why that won’t have gone down well!

Howsimplywonderful · 05/06/2023 22:02

It’s not a great start to his court case, his barristers comments were unfortunate that Harry is ‘in a different category’.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/06/2023 22:03

Lets not make the thread about people not posting

Wise words, Haywirecity

Howsimplywonderful · 05/06/2023 22:03

I think the court case will occupy people for the next few weeks.

Hear hear! And it’s been great sharing different views and opinions calmly and respectfully 🌞

PicturesOfDogs · 05/06/2023 22:05

I have the day off tomorrow for once! Are there any accounts doing live tweets of the proceedings so we can follow along?

And I recommend that you continue to do that, instead of bringing up people who are not here to defend themselves against spiteful interpretations of what happened.

Just focus on the thread, enjoy your evening, and let sleeping dogs lie.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/06/2023 22:08

his barristers comments were unfortunate that Harry is ‘in a different category’

Contradictory too, Howsimplywonderful, given his remarks about Harry "regarding himself like any other victim"

Admittedly that's out of context, but these are the kind of words people remember and they don't always sound good

Haywirecity · 05/06/2023 21:21

Those dates are about the king, the queen and and the heir to the throne. How much more slimmed down can you get than that?

But flying the flag on the kings wedding day. 😲 He must really love Camilla but...really?

The late Queen slimmed it down - also for when bells are rung at Westminster Abbey. It used to be done for the monarch and consort (plus dowager consort if there were any) and all the monarch's DC (and perhaps spouse of heir and their DC).

At present it's just monarch, consort and heir (there is no dowager consort) and I expect George will be added at some point (but prob not until well into adulthood and beginning Duties)

Maybe you should take your own advice and let sleeping dogs lie, if all you have to add to the chat is a vile comment about posters being in a a j* circle. Disgusting and cringe. If people engaging in free open chat offends you so much, maybe you should talk to someone irl about that.

Do you have any fuller context for that?

Because in isolation, that comes across really, really badly

I am okay thanks.

It's just not on to start speculative posts about people who are not on the thread, speculating about their motives, or why they ar no longer posting.

It's snidey, malicious, and gossipy, and against talk Guidelines as it constitutes personal attacks.

LilyMumsnet · 05/06/2023 22:24

Hi folks

If the thread continues to descend into posts about poster(s) on the site who are not on this thread, we will need to consider removing it. Please do avoid posting in this way.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 05/06/2023 22:24

Thank you @LilyMumsnet

Enjoy the evening.

MayQueeen · 05/06/2023 22:25

MrsMaxDeWinter

dude drop the self righteous air - you’ve lost all credibility and shown your true self with your ‘jerk circle’ comment 😂 posters innocently asking why certain posters had been clearly temporality banned is just being curious - but you describing posters as being engaged in a crude sex act is unforgivable and just disgraceful

Howsimplywonderful · 05/06/2023 22:26

@WinnieTheW0rm

there was a times article linked today at 12.58 which mentioned those comments

Were those the actual words used?! They may come to haunt him. They make him sound like an entitled prick.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/06/2023 22:28

WinnieTheW0rm I believe Sherborne's full quote was that Harry's "obviously in a different category' to other witnesses due to his travel and security arrangements"

Since neither of these apparently stopped Harry reaching the UK it's hard to know how this was relevant, and he didn't expand

Howsimplywonderful · 05/06/2023 22:28

The Times article shows the barristers comments
