Security for Harry and Meghan not a priority

Article in the DM reporting that Rishi Sunak has apparently said Harry and Meghan's security issues in New York are not a priority for him when he was asked about the car chase. He is concentrating on policing and safety of people in this country.

*It's a theme on these threads.

The same 'rags' that are the source of 'vile rumours' somehow become unimpeachable truth when it suits.

It's really quite bizarre how people, or more accurately one person, think they know about the king's private financial affairs. Who cares how rich people choose to spend their own money?*

But of course. The press is only good when it's saying things they want to hear.
And it really is very bizarre.

It is.

Are people really concerned whether an extremely privileged person is or is not getting even more money from his estranged father? Seems one person is.

I'd like to know what other sources of information there are. I regularly see the H&M supporters claiming that the haters get their info from the tabloids, but where do the supporters get theirs?

The same 'supporters' will accuse critics of getting all their information from the 'rags'. I can sincerely say I don't read them, nor do I follow any royal related social media accounts.

Yet they can give you chapter and verse on silly stories about avocados and a toddler's tights from 5 years ago. One of them has a large collection of Twitter screen shots, mostly from the tabloids. It's weird.

TP is known to be an empathetic man. He probably knows all about trying to make your dc financially secure.

He had an empty house (one of several actually), and he lent it to H&M.
He could afford it, why not. Unlike billionaire Charles who could not even bother with his own son who had lived with him for years, working for both the firm and the country via military.

Charles continued to give them money well into 2020. And Harry is wealthy in his own right.

I'm willing to bet Omid Scobie. They'll take anything he says as gospel 🙄

Haywirecity · 20/05/2023 19:40

Why would he want or need money from his dad? From articles in newspapers, he has more money than Charles. I've read he's getting $300,000,000 for his book and $150,000,000. From Netflix. He only has to record an album and he'll be a billionaire. Hehe.

Exactly. If the supporters have better sources of info that means we'll see the Sussexes in the same light as they do, then let us know so we can all read it.

It's a bit Trumpian.

"Fake news".

Fine. Tell me the accurate sources so I may be as enlightened and informed on this vital matter as you are.

RocketsMagnificent7 · 20/05/2023 19:45

Oh? How much of a trust fund has he put up for his grandchildren?

How would anyone here, including you, actually be able to answer that question? We have no idea, and no right to know, what type of trusts KC has set up for anyone in his family.

notanotheroneagain · 20/05/2023 19:46

The rags lied about MM making KM cry.
H&M telling neighbours not to look at them?
Saying MM was on pornhub and also trying to pay a guy to lie about sleeping with her.

At some point Camilla Tominey lied and said MM said A liked reading. When she said he likes books.

Jeremy Vine saying MM said she could not find the UK test answers, when she did not.

The KMvsMM headlines as shown by a newspaper (avocados, flowers etc.)
I could go on and on.

So if he had been given support, he wouldn’t have found another way to make money but would have happily lived off Charles’ handouts???

Serenster · 20/05/2023 19:50

Saying MM was on pornhub

Clips taken from Suits featuring Meghan were on Pornhub, though (unpleasant, absolutely, but a completely foreseeable side effect of being a good looking young woman filming sex scenes, even when still wearing underwear)

What happened to 'pursuing financial independence'?

Parents aren't obliged to 'support' their near middle aged sons if they choose to leave the family business and move to the other side of the world.

It was in the rags, of course. By definition it's a lie. Unless it's favourable to the Sussexes, in which case it isn't.

Charles continued to give them money well into 2020. And Harry is wealthy in his own right.

That is quite subjective though, Harry will not accept living anywhere less than a mansion and they have huge expenses so he doesn't think he is wealthy.

I'm not sticking up for him but this is the first time he's had to think about revenue/assets/cost.

Not too sure that is accurate.

But it's reasonable for the first year or so, especially with covid, to support someone and tell them to get on with it when things lift up.
I mean, TP did not have to house them forever.

I'll say one thing, you have to admire the dedication, keeping up with all this stuff. Must be a nearly full time job.

They had six months support. That's quite a long time to get yourself sorted out.

He wasn't a child nor is he stupid. No one with the responsibility of a family would just leave their job and home before finding out what their financial circumstances would be. That would be totally irresponsible.

That site is weird.

Theoretically it's an American celebrity gossip site, but on the rare occasions I click on it, the majority of the stories are about a foreign royal family. And while the claim the tabloids are the foulest thing on the planet, oddly enough most of their stories seem to be sourced from them. No wonder certain posters here feel at home there.

Doesn’t matter how many times you say this, it doesn’t make it true.

Charles continued to give them money until summer 2020z

So from March 2020 until summer 2020, they were living in Tyler Perrys house, for free with free security AND still receiving money from his father AND had his own money.

They moved to Tyler parry’s because they were concerned Canada would close its boarders and they didn’t have time to set up and home and their own security. When they moved there he was still getting money from his father.

Serenster · 20/05/2023 19:57

H&M telling neighbours not to look at them?

As someone who often tells us that the Palace absolutely refused to protect Meghan and Harry while denying stories for Kate left right and centre, you’ll doubtless be delighted to realise that this is one of the many, many stories on which the Palace issued a full denial:

The Palace said the meeting was in February, more than two months before they moved to Frogmore and three months before Archie was born. They added: 'Residents meetings are frequently and routinely held to update on building works/events etc - this was not a meeting specifically held to talk about the couple, it was one of several things discussed. Most importantly their Royal Highnesses did not issue the guidance and didn't ask for it to be done - they simply had nothing to do with this and didn't even know it had happened. As it is they love people to stroke their dogs”

The article did not say some random put film pics on pornhub, it said H's girl his on Pornhub.

Hence they had to apologise and clarify later. It was misleading.

Maireas · 20/05/2023 19:59

Right. So they apologised and clarified. That's the right thing to do in that instance.
