Security for Harry and Meghan not a priority

Article in the DM reporting that Rishi Sunak has apparently said Harry and Meghan's security issues in New York are not a priority for him when he was asked about the car chase. He is concentrating on policing and safety of people in this country.

Or even, @Bookist , any midwife or the obstetric consultant at the Portland, who were being paid £££ to manage Meghan's pregnancy, and have a team on speed dial.

I know, right? That's why my family are so unreasonable. How could I be expected to know how to handle that when I was only in my mid-30s?

Yep, or even ... next time I see my midwife or obstetrician and they ask how I am feeling, I'll tell them. Cos I'm an adult. Unless she went for a freebirth? 😳

mixedrecycling · 20/05/2023 18:13

On the other hand, the gas when she was giving birth was pretty cool.

Only because it helps with my trauma, of course.

He paid for her security and trust funds for her dc before the marriage.

Point being that he could not do the same for his son and grandson. Why not?

I’m always very surprised when the close personal confidantes of the King come and post on MN about his bank activity.

I mean there MUST be close to him seeing as they know so much personal information. It would be weird otherwise to claim so

TheCrystalPalace · 20/05/2023 18:41

I think I'm right in saying that one or both of canolas children are Charles's godchildren?
Perhaps that's behind any financial provision?

TheCrystalPalace · 20/05/2023 18:41

Ffs, Camilla's

It's hard to comprehend why Tyler Perry stepped in to help a multimillionaire couple, yes.

& he gifted them a very large, white, flashy grand piano after their stay as a housewarming gift. They didn’t know each other, prior? TP just offered his home & hospitality given their plight?

Peverellshire · 20/05/2023 18:44

& the Nandos takeaway in the delivery suite.

Peverellshire · 20/05/2023 18:45

Nandos comment @ Mixed recycling.

mixedrecycling · 20/05/2023 18:46

Well, yah, I had to eat? What else would I do? Pa's chef didn't send me over any food.

YouWonJayne · 20/05/2023 18:47

It’s ludicrous really that the HR teams of other people’s workplaces won’t help with your MH issues.

Haywirecity · 20/05/2023 18:50

Canola. I love that. Easier to write and say than Camilla. Lol.

jeffgoldblum · 20/05/2023 18:51

Still no reply! @notanotheroneagain , was the security paid by suits in Canada?

jeffgoldblum · 20/05/2023 18:52

@mixedrecycling 🤣🤣🤣🤣, very droll!
Keep it up!

The Portland has food as you’d have surely known ( ?) & surprised M didn’t have your guts for garters with your token pleb down with kids popular post birth fried chicken snack Nandos! :)

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/05/2023 18:55

This IPP thing ... I get that Harry would like to have it if that means the US would be obliged to pay for security, but who actually decides if someone's an IPP or not?
Is it a purely British thing/decision (in which case why would our choices force another country to cough up?) or could he apply for the same designation in the US?

I've tried googling but all I'm getting is Harry stuff rather than a broader perspective, so wondered if anyone here knows?

Peverellshire · 20/05/2023 18:56

Oh & @mixedrecycling #pregnancy tests don’t take 30-60 mins to show a result! Shame you said you had to wait so long for it to develop! ;)

Maireas · 20/05/2023 18:57

I was at the Portland. Let me tell you, the food was excellent. My husband was well fed. Although, to be fair, he didn't finish off the gas canister as he wasn't a complete dick of a husband and birth partner.

Maireas · 20/05/2023 18:58

Next to a picture of Diana 😂

The IPP status was originally designed in the 1970s as a response to a spate of diplomats being kidnapped. It's not intended to cover self exiled royals filming a mockumentary or pay per view therapy session in California.

How do you know that Charles hasn't set up trust funds for Archie and Lilibet?

Well, has he?

Please do link.

YouWonJayne · 20/05/2023 19:04

notanotheroneagain · 20/05/2023 19:03

Well, has he?

Please do link.

Eh?

YOU made the claim that he hasn’t.

What is YOUR source?

Its his money and is not public information

I have no idea. Have you proof that he hasn't?
Schroedinger's trust fund...

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/05/2023 19:06

Many thanks, IcedPurple, but it is a purely British thing as far as you know, or can any country denote someone an IPP?

In other words, if Harry doesn't get what he wants from the Home Office, could he apply for it in America (though I don't know if he'd need citizenship to do that)?
