What next for the Sussexes?

I thought yesterday couldn't have gone better, all things considered; there was the least amount of drama or negative coverage possible regarding the Sussexes.

I'd like to hope that this marks a fresh start. Harry's got all the recriminations off his chest. The Royal Family have maintained a dignified silence and hopefully the future is rosy. The Sussexes can have the life they want in the US, with a small presence in family events back here when appropriate. (I wouldn't be surprised however if Megan never makes it back on UK soil).

What you say makes sense @Curtaintwitcher72 as I said above, KC looked stricken throughout. Harry has broken his father's heart. He's not a villain, he's just being very naive.

Whaeanui · 08/05/2023 10:25

What overly dramatic silliness. Charles is old and looked tired. Not stricken! He reaps what he sows. Publicly cheat and neglect your children’s mother and be absent much of their life and you don’t always get a warm and fuzzy relationship. Charles is no innocent cuddly old man. He’s not the devil either. This strained relationship is not uncommon. Shit happens.

SoTedious · 08/05/2023 10:25

All staged pap shots are communication with a particular purpose I guess. The hiking photos and their timing do seem to be an attempt to distance Meghan from the royals, very 'I'm not like that lot, look at me in my leggings, not a duke in sight, just an ordinary person out for a walk with my pals'.

I agree. I think he just looked knackered! My mum's the same age as him and I know weeks of prepping for an event where she's expected to make the majority of decisions for would completely wipe her out. I also agree complicated family relationships are not unusual. I just think it's a shame for both sides that theirs is so public and I do stand by the view that Harry will reap what he's sowed too. I don't, sadly, think him and M will make their fifth anniversary, let alone their tenth, and he could be stuck in a very difficult position of needing to return to the Royal fold for support but not wanting to, because it's clearly not the life for him.

Sugarfree23 · 08/05/2023 10:31

I don't think Charles looked stricken either.
I think he looked completely stressed out of his box and Camilla wasn't any better. I don't think they'd slept for a week. They both looked much better at the concert on Sunday.

RoseThornside · 08/05/2023 11:16

I think the reason people are piling in on the Dior thing is that we're used being told who dressed the women, so barely notice it, but it's unusual when it's a man and the designer/couture house 'advertises' like this. Or have I just been taking no notice of the men?!

Maybe I'm being naive, but I also wonder if Meghan would call the paps while wearing that weird weight belt round her waist? Wouldn't she have tried to look more shapely or something?

Vermin · 08/05/2023 11:30

a meeting the night before does make sense of why he wasn’t with the rest of the family (who do speak to him) at the Oswalds party. Would be weird to spend the night alone in an empty house which has already been stripped of his possessions. I’m no fan of his but I do think Harry acted in a way that just can’t be criticised and good for him (flying commercial, no attention seeking, smiling nicely etc). He made it known in advance that he would be leaving immediately but I wonder if the supposed last minute invitation to the family lunch afterwards was as a result of a meeting the night before?

The Telegraph is now reporting that a meeting never took place - Charles was hosting a reception for world leaders at Buck Palace which K and W attended and the rest of the Royals were whooping it up at Oswald's. It looks like he did indeed spend the evening alone at Frogmore. Unless he had some old mates round for a few beers.

He did look pretty sad to me. Sadly you never give up on your kids, but for his own health, he should

Maybe he had a conversation with the bin.

It has been widely reported that his wife cheated first. Their arranged marriage was never going to work so good for him finding happiness with Camilla.

William seems to have accepted that 'shit does happen' without the need to chronicle the whole debacle in non stop grubby interviews and reality shows.

Indeed Janiie

Thank the bloody stars that most of us no longer have to lie in the bed we made if we are unhappy. My ‘bed’ attire would eventually have been a shroud.

Harry married Meghan - also a divorcee - and they are both happy. His dad should be afforded the same courtesy - to be happy with the divorced woman he loves.

Oh dear God, histrionics or what. He looked stressed by the responsibility of the whole thing on Saturday, he looked about 20 years younger on Sunday at the concert when it was all successfully done and dusted.

Apart from dripping in expensive jewellery!

ArcaneWireless · 08/05/2023 13:06

Princess Anne is oit and aboiit in Gloucester and being her usual magnificent looking self.

What next for the Sussexes?
Sudeko · 08/05/2023 13:11

He looked like he had received definitive confirmation that he had wasted three days of people's lives at a huge expense to celebrate him when people were voluntarily happy to give, maybe, one hour of that time. This feels like the most pointless bank holiday ever. I barely managed to watch the main parts of the coronation, gave up on the concert early on and I am recovering from absoltely nothing other than extra housework!

ArcaneWireless · 08/05/2023 13:11

Now. Gloucester Cathedral has my one of my most favourite chapels ever. And I’ve been in a lot.

What next for the Sussexes?
ArcaneWireless · 08/05/2023 13:13

Sorry all - I’m supposed to be in style and beauty! I’m not on the wine 😳

Though you’d be forgiven for thinking it! 😉

Whaeanui · 08/05/2023 13:30

That’s beautiful though, wow

SoTedious · 08/05/2023 13:31

Yes! 😂

Can you please stop spreading this lie around.

No one's falling for it.
Diana did not cheat first. Charles did !

Is this why there are several threads on this
