What next for the Sussexes?

1000 replies

Casuaala · 07/05/2023 14:49

I thought yesterday couldn't have gone better, all things considered; there was the least amount of drama or negative coverage possible regarding the Sussexes.

I'd like to hope that this marks a fresh start. Harry's got all the recriminations off his chest. The Royal Family have maintained a dignified silence and hopefully the future is rosy. The Sussexes can have the life they want in the US, with a small presence in family events back here when appropriate. (I wouldn't be surprised however if Megan never makes it back on UK soil).

Harry isn't really exposing it though

Well he certainly is, through the courts, along with other famous individuals.

Well done Harry.

@IJustHadToLookHavingReadTheBook

Well said! Totally agree with every single word.

Do you remember the tupperware full of cornflakes on the table with the Queen having breakfast. It was all designed for us to think how frugal the Queen was. That idea then stuck for the rest of her life. She was hardly some little old Granny sat in front of a 2 bar electric fire! Of course she wasn't frugal! It is all PR manipulation.

We are spoonfed a diet of Royalty. The image of each member is carefully crafted for our consumption. Anne the hard working one, Camilla keeps her head down, W&K young modern family Boden style (just look at the nauseating Norfolk beach advert for them) . The image control is totally off the scale.
However, it's all falling by the wayside now, what story can they tell to younger generations who view the whole set up with total scepticism.

They have been too long courting positive coverage whilst desperately trying to cover up misbehaviour. Times have changed.

really good post. yes we were always fed the image of when not "working" they were normal. its daft because they live in splendour and all that,

I think things will have to change. the younger people I know who are early 30's have no time for the RF. whilst they are struggling to buy a home, and so on, they don't see why a family should have all this unearned wealth. I have found the older I get the more I agree.

Harry isn't really exposing it though, he using whatever he has at his fingertips as a weapon against his father and brother for not giving him what he wanted with his half in half out.

Supporters claim he wanted out of the family firm for years before he married MM, but in that case, why even ask for half in half out of a job you hated and caused your wife to be suicidal?

He believes in the monarchy, and they both still wanted to be part of it on their own terms. Unfortunately cherry picking the best bits isn't an option. Can you imagine the outrage from the anti monarchy brigade if their Hollywood lifestyle had been funded by UK taxpayer!

He had an over-inflated opinion of his own self importance and thought his leaving would be the downfall of the monarchy. He was wrong.

Exactly. So transparent to most of us. The massive bitter chip on his petulant shoulder so glaringly obvious.

What on earth was he thinking with his Sussex Royal USA grand plan. Prat.

Me too @Samcro.

No one will believe it, but I was quite the Royalist at one point. 😂 But slowly and surely, the scales fell from my eyes. It took probably a decade for my view to change and many incidents changed my opinion

Roussette · 12/05/2023 16:06

Where on earth has this been hinted at? Did he ever say he was aiming to bring down the Monarchy?

Go Harry. Yep, go back to LA for folk to blow hot air up your arse and don't come back.

I agree with you @StickyWickets.

He wanted to have his cake and eat it. And when the RF said 'No' to their half-in, half-out plan, he and Meghan were furious and felt thwarted and so went on the attack. They'd been beavering away for months, working with Sunshine Sachs, setting up Sussex Royal, planning their escape, but it all hinged on Harry getting a private meeting with the Queen in Jan 2020. But she realised that their 'break' in Canada was going to be permanent, because Meghan took her dogs with her and, being a dog-lover herself, the Queen knew that meant that they weren't coming back. So when Harry tried to get a time to meet with her, she was unexpectedly 'too busy' the entire time he was in London.

Yes, he was the rf's Beyonce in his wild imagination, needed to bring fluff and fun to poor ole staid and dull Willy. He just believed the media hype didn't he <which is very ironic>. They don't need his pinched little face pissing on everyone's parade at all.

Gosh, you're sounding a bit bad tempered with him today!

Well done him holding MNG to account along with others who have been hacked, spied on, burgled, bank accounts compromised, private calls reported on.

We should be grateful to him.

(Cue Janiie thinking of yet another insulting name to call him!)

Love the pinched little face bit! And RF Beyonce too!

Hasn't William already held some media groups to account. Oh but <checks notes> Harry didn't know about all this except he did, but he didn't. Yeah but no but.

LadyMuckingabout · 12/05/2023 16:13

I do agree that the SussexRoyal interlude conflicts with the “I’ve always hated it- I have to get away!” line. And also, yes, the retention of Sunshine Sachs does not accord with the Supporters’ view of poor struggling Meghan. Apparently there was talk of an Oprah show before the wedding ( and, no, I can’t do “Link, please”)

Rhondaa · 12/05/2023 16:15

Yes I should put my forward as his ghostwriter for his next 'My Truth' spewfest. Think I'd be quite good at it.

Your talents are wasted lol

I criticise the institution. I don't personally mock members of it. Find me a post where I have come out with literally anything like the insulting names and sentences you post about Harry.

Whereas you over years have come up with hundreds of unpleasant, rude and insulting words about both of them. I can't think of anything you haven't mocked him about for instance.

I haven't ever made any 'unpleasant, rude or insulting' words about his wife. I've taken the piss out of him, so what? I've also criticised their behaviour which we all know has been appalling.

Roussette · 12/05/2023 16:30

Oh hang on... wracking my brains here... I did once say William dressed like a 50 year old Rotarian. I will admit to that. But it was in the context of saying I think Charles is a very natty dresser and I like his style.
Just need to get that one out before I get my arse handed to me on a plate 😁

How many hours do some people spend on here- it must add up to an enormous amount over the years. It’s just circular arguments over and again.
