@Rockybooboo Maybe if you read the title of this thread? It's about her achieving a contract with a media agency. thats what I was clearly referring to. And achieving a contract in a superficial, materialistic industry, is a meaningless waste of her life. Are you saying being a minor TV star is benefitting humanity? Working for the environment, a scientist finding a cure for cancer, a doctor treating sick people...that's meaningful.

Nothing whatsoever to do with her children.

I think that the entertainment industry is a wonderful thing to be in. It makes people happy. I work in Care which is obviously a very much needed part of society but I love going to the movies and listening to music. I dont hero worship entertainers but I'm glad they exist.

Is being in the Royal family a mwaningful life.

Exactly. You can bet they watch tv and lots of entertainment while criticising anyone who actually creates it though.

Howsimplywonderful · 30/04/2023 10:37

@Whaeanui

I don’t think the shallowness of the entertainment is to be applauded.

Telling us their looks are down to good genes, a vegan diet and aveeno / nutrogena (whoever they’ve been signed up to) when they’re in and out of the dermatologists / plastic surgeons office / hair extensions and heavy filters

Absolutely no talent apart from an ability to create drama and sell every last element of their lives

I hope my daughter finds better role models but you big them up to your children.

polkadotdalmation · 30/04/2023 10:38

@Rockybooboo Again. Read the thread title. This is about MMs contract with a media agency. Diverting and deflecting onto the RF is simply that, and a different discussion altogether.

My main job used to be as an A&E nurse, literally saving lives. So yes I would say my life was meaningful.

I am not slating the world of entertainment as a whole, just MMs minor and insignificant role in it.

Howsimplywonderful · 30/04/2023 10:39

I’m not ‘bigging’ any such thing up to my children. To comment like that on other posters parenting is very rude. It’s a bad look on a parenting forum to bring in other peoples children when they’re not the topic here. Rude. I absolutely think acting is a valid job, so is writing, and I’m pretty sure you’re being this rude because I recently mentioned one of my children loves acting and writing. The ‘shallowness’ isn’t down to the occupation, but to individual people and how they present or respond. I raise my children to be kind and honest people thank you very much. I also raise them to think of everyone as equals, and not to elevate one person or one family as above others nor fawn and idolise such people just because of the family they were born to and the wealth and privilege they inherited. That is vacuous and meaningless.

I've read the title thank you. I thought you said previously you worked from home?
Ther are lots of people who have less worthy jobs than A&E nurses, it doesn't mean their lives are meaningless.

Meghan has been signed up to a major agency so how is she insignificant?

Howsimplywonderful · 30/04/2023 10:49

I think you missed the ‘if you want’ which was missed off my earlier post and posted afterwards

Howsimplywonderful · 30/04/2023 10:53

She’s not been hired for her acting talents, and to be honest I hadn’t read that your children love acting and writing . I hope it bring them joy and success.

Whaeanui · 30/04/2023 10:55

No you don’t. You think my child is in an industry that is shallow and meaningless. I guess that makes my daughter shallow too.

But surely most of us don't tell our children who their role models should be. If ypur child wants to get into acting, you support them by sending them to drama clasees but you make they read up the reality of the job and there's a lot of downsides to that career.

I've never seen her act.

@Rockybooboo Just read what I said... I used to be an A&E nurse. Then I went into telephone triage, now I work from home.

polkadotdalmation · 30/04/2023 13:15

Why does noticing things make a fan? You notice everything about Meghan, are you a fan?

Nightlystroll · 30/04/2023 15:30

When they left Sunshine Sachs, didn't they say they'd be representing Archewell themselves with SS working with them on special projects? So are they no longer going to look after Archewell themselves and WME is taking over? Has SS been given the boot?
I don't blame anyone for getting professionals in to do a proper job. It makes sense. And they've got $10m sitting in the Archewell pot that they can use to pay for their PR. I think people are too critical of them. Let them gradually cut their ties with the uk and move on with their Iives.

Abra1t · 30/04/2023 15:51

WME is a talent agency, not a PR agency, though roles may overlap. WME will be finding her work. SS was about presenting her image in the media, with influencers, in public affairs.

Coronateachingagain · 30/04/2023 15:57

MrsMaxDeWinter · 29/04/2023 04:45

@Coronateachingagain

if she goes for another of her marketing runs with this new agency, she has no chance to step in the UK anytime soon without a lukewarm welcome - the majority of the UK people are just not into her reality - even if you don't care about the monarchy

I think you will find that Meghan will not ever again take part in any Royal event. They have hit the compromise adopted my many couples with in-law problems: Harry will do stuff like the Coronation, funerals etc, and she will never again be with them in public.

If she comes to the UK it will be for private visits.

So the "majority of the UK people" need not worry about that lukewarm welcome. I would suggest they heat it up a tad so it's less lukewarm, and serve it to the remaining Royals, Camilla in particular could use it😄

Yeah she will not come to the UK anytime soon. Too much risk of being booed honestly, culturally miles apart and especially now that she had a new agency and is trying to restart things again. Not advised, I would not advise it either if I wanted to maximise business success. Good luck to her new "branding".

The one who needs to worry is Harry who is in no man's land brand wise at the moment, and does not have as much resilience or comms skills as her.

I think the point was more that her new agency may have to bear in mind that she’s quite a polarising figure in at least one large market, if they are looking for global projects - which to get the financial return they are looking for from a client of her profile, they presumably would be. WME aren’t a charity, they will have entered this relationship only because they think they can make money here. Global projects quite often involve trips to overseas markets to promote them. If your talent appearing publicly in the UK is a risk to her brand, that might make some projects difficult.

Spot on and well said. wME would be on commission for some of the bits too, so this is all a big business folks, no point spending time on a market that will just erode your brand and set you back with negative publicity

Why would she want to come back? She's got guaranteed sunshine, her kids, her mates and her mum in the States.

Coronateachingagain · 30/04/2023 16:10

@Rockybooboo

"Why would she want to come back? She's got guaranteed sunshine, her kids, her mates and her mum in the States."

Exactly. But there is always the prospect of free publicity just by being photographed next to the King, although this at the moment would be probably more than neutralised by negative publicity given how she is perceived broadly in the Uk.

$$$$$$$$$$$$ when you measure her actions based on $$$$ then it all becomes clear.

There is also a lot of you scratch my back and I scratch yours in that new agency commissioning 😅 wasn't the woman designing her Lakes playoff wardrobe the wife or something of the CEO of the new agency? 😅 💸💸💸💸

That’s in the foundation, separate to archewell productions- which WME are representing. The £10 million is not public money it’s donated from one or two sources, most likely Harry.

Nightlystroll · 30/04/2023 16:48

I thought she wasn't going into acting so what work would that be? But didn't that piece say that WME were representing Archewell?

Additionally, WME will assume representation of Archewell

That can't be for talent, can it? That must be for PR? Am I getting confused? Wasn't it the WME top bigwigs that she and Harry appeared with at the basketball game where they got their paps, backlit, to photograph them outside? That all looked like a staged pr exercise.
Maybe I'm just too cynical. 😂 I wouldn't argue if people thought that was the case!

So what youre saying is that WME will find her some kind of non acting work and either she or Sunshine Sachs will advertise it? I wonder how they pay all these people? Good for them for getting that much money together.

Nightlystroll · 30/04/2023 16:49

So they can't spend that on PR for themselves? That's a shame. It's just sat there so they might as well use it for good purposes.
