Why is Charles disappointed Archie and Lillibet not coming?

Charles has said he is disappointed Archie and Lillibet are not coming to the Coronation. But the children were not invited to anything at the Coronation weekend.
Charles will be busy the whole weekend with Coronation events and meeting officials. So why has he said he is disappointed when he would not even see them/ If he wanted to see them he should have invited them to something.

I'm not sure I'm obliged to answer parts of your posts which had nothing to do with any of the points I was making?

But since you ask, I have no idea if Charles 'misses' his 'GC' and neither do you. The OP is based on pure speculation in the tabloids, not actual statements by Charles. And given that he's a head of state whose diary is booked months in advance and whose travel arrangements involve extensive planning and security coordination, then no, I shouldn't think he'll be jetting off to California any time soon.

So you have no more idea than anyone else then. Ok 🙄

Not sure what your eye roll is about, since I never expressed any opinion on whether or not Charles misses his 'GC'. That was you.

My point is that the OP is based on pure speculation from tabloids, yet some are treating it as established truth.

Mayhaps the op is someone close to the situation

Tarantullah · 14/04/2023 20:08

Poor Harry. I’m sure he’d prefer to be spending the day celebrating his DS birthday with his family.

Why isn't he then? He could stay home in california with them or they could all come over and even if the children aren't included in the 'official' events as they're too young, they could spend quality time together around Harry's appearance and probably see other family members. He's a grown man who has made the decision he has, I'm sure no one would be bothered if he didn't go really.

smilesy · 14/04/2023 20:09

*It seems pointless for Charles to voice his displeasure that he is missing out on his GC, because of H&M - it’s all their fault of course! When he has made no effort to travel to see his GC.

It’s exactly the same distance for his GC to visit him as it is for him to visit them.*

I’m not sure the King could just rock up in the US for a visit 😂

IJustHadToLookHavingReadTheBook · 14/04/2023 20:18

I am really enjoying all of these threads where people quote the royal family like they're talking about their uncle Chas and cousins Haz and Bill. It's utterly batshit, but very entertaining.

pizzaHeart · 14/04/2023 20:21

Did you want him to say that he’s indifferent or didn’t care?

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 14/04/2023 20:28

@smilesy I now have a mental image of the king & queen spending an evening checking luggage allowances on skyscanner Grin

How often does KC see his other GC?

Unless you know KC or the Wales' personally noone can answer that. Judging from his interactions with them though (Louis at the Jubilee for instance) he does seem to have a good relationship with them

Why would it be impossible for the king of England (and the other uk countries) to call his son and make plans to visit his grandchildren? If most grandparents can keep in contact with their grandchildren why can’t this grandparent? He could if he really wanted to. He’s in a better position to get his own way than most

Because he's Head Of State, and even a private visit is a major (administrative, diplomatic, security) matter.

Even on his honeymoon, whenever the Royal Yacht docked somewhere there was protocol and formal receptions (Diana, Princess of Wales spoke about this and how strange it was and how little time they really had because of the admin tail)

I think people do care- hence the vitriol aimed at Harry whether he does, or doesn’t show up.

God forbid his father rocks up to see his GC - or even calls to plan a visit. I mean, how could he? Being head of state and having private secretaries to plan his diary and being escorted by security guards. Of course he couldn’t! 😂

Maybe Charles is waiting to be invited, he is not going to rock up unannounced

I don’t think Charles chose the date of The Coronation.

Of course he did. It would not be set on a date that he was not happy with.

At best he'd have a very short list of suitable dates.

I think its hilarious people think the 4th birthday of a child who the RF barely know should influence the date of a coronation

Ilovemydoggie · 14/04/2023 21:55

Wouldn’t it be something for Archie to be able to say that my grandfather was crowned King of Britain on my 4th birthday, and I went to London to watch the carriages leave, see the crowds etc.

Rather better than saying yeah Mom organised a party with the kids of other celebs in the backyard of our gated community.

I expect that Charles is disappointed that all his grandchildren can’t be there to see history being made and join in in some way on such a special day for him and his family.

I don't think either 'side' covers themselves in much glory to be honest, those who complain about 'vitriol' towards harry invariably make unfounded claims and assumptions about the other members of the royal family and often resort to snidey comments; usually worse than those they criticise. The reality is that in real life hardly anyone cares if he goes or not, and none of us know what Charles has or has not done to try and having a relationship with his grandchildren amongst the shitshow their parents have created.

If Charles is waiting for an invitation he’s in for a long wait. Poor Charles 😢 My heart bleeds for him 🙄

RainsThisWay · 14/04/2023 22:05

Who cares?😂

tatalan · 14/04/2023 22:05

He'd have more of a chance to see Archie and Lili if he hadn't kicked them out of Frogmore. I truly don't think he wants a relationship with them 😐

Exactly, they have no intention of inviting Charles over and letting him have a relationship with his grandchildren. Shame for the little ones really.

I’m sure the children will survive. Most children who live without GP’s in their lives survive just fine. You don’t miss what you didn’t have

tatalan · 14/04/2023 22:30

@StormzyinaTCup I don't think that's true at all. Charles, William and Kate were invited to Lili's christening, PEOPLE reported but they were unable to make it. Eugenie has been to the states to visit them too.
