No surprise he's coming on his own to the coronation.

It's a good solution for Brand H&M. Wouldn't detract from their whole "we hate the Royals" thing, but would ensure Harry still gets secondhand lustre in America from being connected to the throne. Face-saving for the Royals too, I think, especially since the previous (Charles, Diana, Queen, etc) generation of Royals were criticised for putting public relations above their own family ties

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 16:03

@PennyForearm Their children are missing out on all of that it seems, with the extremely small and cut-off family their parents have created for themselves.

Sometimes it’s the family you were born into, sometimes it’s the one you make for yourself. Lots of people have close friends that become family. Sometimes, like in this case, it’s better that way

Shes an appalling person so very pleased she won’t be there trying to seek attention.

That sounds like something Jeremy Clarkson might say.

I think it is slightly sad that they won't be there together but I don't wish ill on either of them.

It is right that Harry at least attends the coronation.

Why are people blaming the RF, they were both invited, it's not like they only invited Harry?

Are there children?

I think you may need to log off for today and touch grass.
Very strange posts

Does Harry need secondhand lustre though? I mean he is the king's son. Nothing can take away from that.

As much as Harry has done and said some things which I think he shouldn't have done, I do feel sorry for him as he is between a rock and hard place most of the time these days.

But nobody didn't force him to say those things.
It was his decision.

EdieLedwell · 12/04/2023 16:06

It's the best solution. That family seems unable to overcome their enmity even for an occasion as historic as a Coronation.

I agree with a pp, it makes me think less of them all.

Ok so now we have someone here saying the children don’t exist. I thought that shit could only be found on Twitter and Reddit

There has been a little bit of hair colour photoshopping in a couple of the official photographs but if you’ve seen the Netflix doc you can tell that there are two real children who are interacting with their parents (and way too young to be ‘actors’ hired for the day).

There is plenty to criticize about The Sussexes in terms of specific behaviors but crazy internet conspiracy theories just make you look like a loon.

I know and I said he shouldn't have done/said them. It doesn't mean he doesn't now find himself in a difficult position. Some may think he gets what he deserves some may be not.

She's beautiful and has married a prince. Some people have a real problem with that. Dunno why.

Flicked her coat
Cradled her bump

She's a monster I tell you! A monster!!!

It's a shame the children won't be there.

But the children were never going to be there due to their age.

I suppose it’s a shame that they won’t get to hang out with their cousins at the family stuff after the public bit. Lili, August, Sienna, and Lucas are all close in age. Archie, Lena, Louis and Wolfie are similar.

Whaeanui · 12/04/2023 16:13

Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."

official announcement.

LindorDoubleChoc · 12/04/2023 16:19

What an unholy mess this all is. The fact that the wife of the King's son is not coming to his Coronation is pretty major. Young children and a child's birthday aren't really valid reasons to stay away. She's staying away because she just plain detests them, I suspect.

The family won't ever recover from it. I feel kind of sorry for Harry in a strange way.

Changedmymindtoday · 12/04/2023 16:19

This is a sensible approach. Or as another PP the least controversial.

I agree. My 8 grandchildren range in age from less than a year to almost 18 and even the baby is part of what they call their cousin gang.

There’s nothing like a family multi generational knees up. We thrive on them. And the whole family not being in evidence at this mother of all knees up despite everything that’s gone on is sad.

If Megan had decided to come with Harry and drag the kids along people would have been saying it was all attention seeking and she shouldn't be there because she doesn't like them. She can't win.
