Thought she’d shot daggers at Meghan when she got out of the car!

Wonder why that was?

That was before the Netflix doc and Spare release as well.

Coincidence this is being published now before H&M confirm if they’re going to accept the invite to the coronation?

Kate: Walkabout with Harry and Meghan 'one of hardest things ever'

Kate and William's appearance with Harry and Meghan to greet well-wishers and view the flowers outside the gates of Windsor Castle came two days after the Queen's death at the age of 96

Given she is one of the most scrutinised women on earth, her family were grieving, and she was being photographed for the first time with the women the nation (and the papers) are obsessed with comparing her to, yep, I'd say it would be pretty awful.

Comparing her FAVOURABLY too 😅

It has always been Kate - Perfect, Meghan - Bad

So that doesn't wash.

Stressedafff · 08/04/2023 15:15

I’ve never ever liked Kate, I don’t know why, I just think she’s probably not as nice as they paint her out to be

HappydaysArehere · 08/04/2023 15:19

If the Daily Mail have anything to do with this then take it with a pinch of salt. I expect she might have claimed that it obviously wasn’t easy. Meghan looked embarrassed as well she should.

If this is true, I don't blame her for this.

I would find being civil around the person who repeatedly publicly slated me, lied over and over again, spent lots of time acting like a spoilt brat and made my elderly grandparents in law's lives absolute hell quite difficult as well.

When did Meghan slate Kate?

If Kate briefs the papers that Meghan made her cry, Meghan is perfectly entitled to respond.

Prescottdanni123 · 08/04/2023 15:37

@Inkanta

If she had smiled or laughed, she would have been called cold hearted and uncaring. If she had been in floods of tears, everyone would have said that a member of the royal family should be able to pull themselves together and put on face the British public with a calm and dignified demeanor.

Prescottdanni123 · 08/04/2023 15:39

@tatalan

She slagged off the royal family - which includes Kate - on Oprah and to anyone else who would listen.

Use your words, specifics?

Prescottdanni123 · 08/04/2023 15:47

@tatalan

Did you not watch the Oprah interview? Or hear about what was said? About how the royal family were so awful to her that she felt suicidal and that they are racist? And yet despite this horrible, racist family, she hasn't turned down the prince and princess titles down for her kids has she?

googlejourney · 08/04/2023 15:48

I can imagine that facing the scrutiny of crowds and cameras alongside your in laws who clearly dislike you and have been slandering you in interviews and podcasts would've been really challenging, while grieving the loss of a family member.

To be fair, Meghan seemed just as uncomfortable and no doubt it was one if the hardest things she's had to carry out as well - it certainly appeared that way. Of course the Sussexes silently knew there was more to come, as the book had been completed by this point and they knew the mud they'd thrown in the book, must if it at Kate & William.

I can only imagine how Kate & William feel about public appearances with the Sussexes now after the book and more interviews. I feel the bits about Kate in Harry's book had Meghan's fingerprints all over them, I have no doubt she wrote those bits as she has an axe to grind.

If I was Kate I'd be refusing to appear publicly with those two ever again, I'd insist that the opportunity to ever be in camera shot alongside them never arises. I'd also refuse to be in a room with them privately again - I'd adopt a 'it's them or me' approach to any family gatherings...but I'm petty like that and I'm sure she's a much bigger person Grin

Did you actually watch it? the press coverage made her suicidal, nowhere did she say family treatment made her feel that way. She never called the family racist either.

No, Kate will just passive aggressively tell a royal reporter how making an appearance with Harry and Meghan was one of the hardest things she'd ever done 😂

Kate clearly has no power here either, if she was that bothered, William should not have invited Harry and Meghan.

xLuz · 08/04/2023 15:51

It looked difficult. She didn't manage to disguise how difficult she was finding it.

Made me think her usual warmth is genuine. When she's miserable, she actually cannot disguise it
She's human.

Poor Poor Kate, praise Jesus she came out of that harrowing experience whole 🙄

@tatalan

The insinuation the royal family was racist was very much there. Although they couldn't get their storoes straight on whether someone made a comment on Archie's skin colour before or after he was born.

The way Harry and Meghan treated the queen during her last few months alone would make it difficult for me to be civil towards her alone if I were in Kate's position.

I don't doubt that unpleasant things said by Harry and Meghan in interviews/Spare etc hadn't been said (or similar words) to the family beforehand. We don't know what goes on behind closed doors but from Harry and Meghan's entitled behaviour and the things they've said and all the lies they've been caught out in, I reckon their interactions with royal family members must have been appalling.

That's all I'm going to say

She didn't really say anything negative about Kate though. She gave her version of events regarding the whole flower girl dress situation, said that Kate bought her flowers and apologise before saying that if you "like me, you don't have to hate her" and vice versa but the media, of course, made it seem like she attacked Kate and added fuel to the fire, as usual because they need this feud to last forever otherwise they'd have nothing else to talk about. She even said that Kate is a good person.

The only one that "slagged off" Kate was Harry in his memoir and his interviews but of course, there's not as much heat for him as there is for Meghan

gettingoldisshit · 08/04/2023 16:00

I stated at the time under a different username ( I regularly change) that Kate looked absolutely fuming and Megan was not well received by the public ( i was there as i live in the area). I was accused of making it up by the H&M fan club on here! Kate was absolutely delightful to the public but it was absolutely obvious she wanted to be nowhere near M&H and I can't say i blame her tbh. The public were very cold towards Megan but more of a cold disdain rather that outright booing and heckling which I think was out of respect for the late queen and the fact that she was W&H grandmother.

I was amazed that after reading Spare, I disliked Harry. 400 pages of his own point of view and I couldn't stand him by the end of it.

This. Moaning. Spiteful. Petulant. Lacking in empathy, self reflection or insight. Entitled. (Literally).

Personally I think Kate is the best of them. Although all the children might well be pretty lovely too.

QuintanaRoo · 08/04/2023 16:01

Is Spare an entertaining, interesting read? I have next week off work and not much planned.

You know nothing about how the Queen feels she was treated, so all this is moot. I'm glad she was able to see Archie and Lili before she passed. It was also very lovely of the Queen to send her security to pick up the Sussex family when they arrived during the Jubilee.

If this is true, I'm glad Meghan was hugged by the lovely girl.

I am extremely biased but I think it's a fantastic read. I've got the hard copy, audio and eBook. Listened to it multiple times now.
