Even as a child Harry was racist

How many times can Harry be excused as having unconscious bias? He was already making fun of people’s accents even as a child.

According to a new book that's coming out from Robert Jobson:

When he was a little boy, around eight years old, his mother took him and William for a ride on a London bus as a treat, arranged by her police protection officer Inspector Ken Wharfe.

On the bus, Diana had to tell Harry to stop mimicking the Sikh bus conductor’s pronounced Punjabi accent every time a passenger pressed the bell to get off. The conductor, a jovial chap wearing a bright yellow turban, was relaxed about Harry’s casual racism, but Diana was so mortified that she eventually told Ken Wharfe to abandon the trip.

Diana, Ken, William and Harry all got off at Green Park and Diana immediately smacked Harry and told him: ‘Don’t you ever do that again.’

Afterwards, she made Harry write to Inspector Wharfe to apologise for his behaviour and for spoiling the day he’d arranged for the boys.
I have spoken to Wharfe, who confirms the incident, and I have also seen the letter, still in his possession, in which Harry jokes about the phrase he used.

As he was a child at the time, he can probably be forgiven — but the incident demonstrates that on one issue at least, Diana was in complete agreement with Charles. She would not tolerate any form of racism from their two sons.

@Beanfield2023 you can be racist regardless of who you marry. Racist towards some ethnicities or even just one, but not others.

NaturalBae · 09/04/2023 14:33

And I’ll continue to post content such the above again, as the gate keepers do not want us to expose and educate others on what actually went down historically.

Hmmmm, I wonder why????? 🤔

MrsMaxDeWinter · 09/04/2023 14:34

Or should we just mind our own Black business by removing ourselves completely from these types of forums that are ‘meant to be inclusive for all’ and continue to have our own discourse away from everyone else who does not look like us and who do not also have the same lived experiences as us?

It won't work for a simple reason. Any thread about Meghan will be hijacked.

I think we should just hang in here, and challenge this bullshit as and when it comes up. ,

MrsMaxDeWinter · 09/04/2023 14:18

I did not expect my post to last as long as it did to be honest, so I am grateful that some saw it, and could see this bullshit for what it is.

Again, thank you. I have huge respect and admiration for you. It’s pp like you who keep me on MN. I’ve already told you I’m one of your girl fans 😉x

I think you are right. It’s just so tiring though!

The same post got deleted again LOL. I’m not surprised. I guess one has to laugh or….

It would have been deleted for troll hunting, it's against guidelines and reposting is also against the rules.

Smacked not battered. Back in the olden days it is what a lot of parents done. Now you may think it doesn't work but neither does the discipline of the last 20 years. So both generations have got it wrong.

Children were better behaved back in the day. Make of that what you will...

NaturalBae · 09/04/2023 14:49

@MNHQ

Pray do tell exactly how I breached MN Talk Guidelines?

Maybe then I can replace certain words that trigger or you don’t like?
Please be specific.
Many thanks in advance.

Oh okay. So pp are not allowed to call other pp out for that anymore. Noted. I’ll bear that in mind. Thanks.

Well.... the OP who was either 'reborn' or only joined just over a week ago, and has only ever posted on Royal threads purely to denigrate H&M, has gone quiet. So that's that, I imagine.

Elvis has left the building.

We see a lot of this lately on royal threads ho hum... there is a strange dynamic going on at the moment, I can sense it.

Yes; it’s clear to see the increase in ugliness arising again regarding threads about M&H.

foldthecheese · 09/04/2023 15:12

They were taken on a bus for fun!? Nothing like a bit of poverty tourism. Racism is the icing on the the putrid cake.

It will also be down to the fact that the King’s Coronation is fast approaching and many people are increasingly getting their knickers in a twist over what H&M are going to do and how they (namely Meghan all alone) will overshadow the occasion.

Why does Prince Harry seem to have been chosen as some type of "honorary Black" by so many so called Black people, just because he married a biracial woman who managed to be very white socialised, even coming from post 1970s multicultural LA?

And yes, there are many "POC" who do not tolerate ANY racism and do not see "levels" when it comes to racism as it is their intention to not make the parents of racist children comfortable as to hide behind "it's only a child".

There can hardly be a thing as an non Black adult using the n-word who didn't take the piss out of "forrin" accents, even white ones, when growing up.

It is these "gradients of racism" so called POC who disingenuously need white validation, but are too coward to admit it, who make white people with any non white adjacency too comfortabtle stating what and what is not racist. But when one of their chosen white people is racist, their racism is ignored, as has Prince Harry's life long racism and anybody who accuses their chosen white person of being racist is accused of not being "POC" online.

I challenge ANY racist disrespect from ANY age of person. Racism starts somewhere and I am sure that the likes of Jim Davidson didn't wait until he was 18 until he started taking the piss out of the Jamaican accent and I am sure that, like Harry, he was always racist.
And no; many POC do NOT and will NOT use their energy waiting for proven racists to "change" in order allay any potential discomfort of their so called Black and POC stans/compadres/ spouses/partners for standing behind them as they get validation from their deigning to take up with a non white.

Black people who gain validation through white racists deigning to marry/partner with non whites are as crazy as white racists.
No wonder Black civil Rights usually end up manifesting in Bad Black men hiding behind white liberals and male identified Black women and Black people hooking up with white people and being the loudest to complain about white people instead of anything much tangible of benefit for Black people.

And no wonder racist Prince Harry marrying a white identified biracial woman was seen as some type of glory for the same types. But it is these types who decide online who and who is "typing white" because a person who claims to not be white classes Prince Harry as the lifelong racist he is?

And MANY racists and marry/partner inter racially. Fucking feels good and has little to do with colour, or has a lot to do with it if one has a racist fetish. White marrying non white doesn't mean a carte blanche psychological "invite to the cook out" and a lack of "studying" said white person by any Black / POC person who has the sense they were born with.

One thing about the internet; it has shown me that for many Black people, their standards have DROPPED when it comes to policing racism if they "like" a problematic white person. No wonder too many white people feel like they have permission to prach what and what isn't racist to Black people. Probably their real life Black friend gave them permission. But Black people with racist "favourites" are too narcissitic to see that, so choose to police pro Black opinion contrary to theirs as "blackfishing"

Shit, I've been called a "white bitch" online by Black women behind Prince Harry and Meghan because they are Corporate Basic and I said so.

Kudos to Harry and Meghan. They know the psychology of the average , loud "pro Black" Black person /"anti racist" white liberal and how it has been leveraged and lead by the same White Corporatism that these two factions claim to despise and the Queer ( meaning non LGB) Corporatism that at least one of the factions KNOW is problematic to the average Black person while we are STILL getting our collective noggin around the perfectly normal LGB.....and they are rinsing the vanity/narcissism of both groups for all that they can.

Say what now?
You said a lot there!
On first glance, it looks like you’re looking for an argument?
No?

I definitely do not see Prince Harry as some type of “Honary Black” (your words). Any reason why you you did not add another word after ‘Black’ when referring to Harry as a “Honary Black”?
Some type of “Honary Black” what exactly?
I see this as problematic.

Also, please explain why you used a capital B when typing ‘Bad Black men’?

This is why Black & POC are tired, but I’m likely to be back, unfortunately.

I won’t ask you any other questions, as it’s likely that this post will also be deleted.

I’m off to do an Easter Egg Hunt with my children now.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 09/04/2023 14:30

For Harry to be a racist, it is important to delegitimise Meghan as a woman of colour. If you just try to talk about Meghan and race on the Royal threads, you get a flood of "but she looks white, I see no colour, I don't care if she is white black or polka-dotted" etc.

This is also when you get a lot of people claiming to be POC and not believing she was a POC when they first saw her, and claiming to have Jamaican and Nigerian grandkids (sometimes both) who look darker than her. It's always Jamaican and Nigerian by the way. All while being highly offended that Harry is "a racist".

I shouldn’t chortle but that made me do just that because you’re so right - it’s always Nigerian or Jamaican.

skullbabe · 09/04/2023 16:35

Beanfield2023 · 09/04/2023 14:20

How can he be a racist if he married a Black woman?

Unfortunately being married to, having children or having friends of a different race does not make someone not racist. There is a lot of work people need to do to be anti racist even if they are in close proximity to people of other races.

Suzi888 · 09/04/2023 16:37

This comes from the black liberationist and separatist train of thought where people do not believe in pleading, begging, praying, or patiently waiting for equal rights to be conferred - they feel demanding equality is a duty, having it delayed is an insult, and com- promise is not what is needed today. Hence no quarter for a child. What I find interesting is this poster finding common ground with the original poster.

Whaeanui · 09/04/2023 17:30

Grateful for the AS function so I could educate myself about the previous repulsive comments of a poster here. Indigenous people from NZ & Australia don’t have the same issues other POC do elsewhere with regards to the rejection of biracial people. My Grandparents endured a lot of horrific racism because they were a mixed race couple, but not from Maori. I find it gross when it comes from either direction, this intolerance of black and brown people marrying and procreating with white people. Really unpleasant and reminds me of what my grandparents went through.
