The mumsnet "We hate Harry" brigade in full force then- having their thinking skills decimated by their bizarre repulsion for someone they've never met and has no bearing on their lives.
To make it easy for you:
You might willingly have photos of your house on Rightmove, but that doesn't give anyone the right to use false pretences to sneak into your property and take their own photos.

A family might open their Palace to the public in the summer months when they aren't there, but that doesn't mean they have no right to complaint if a member of the press then breaks into the Palace and goes hunting through their dildo drawer.

You might be naive enough to hand your WhatsApp messages over to a journalist to write a book about your amazing time as a politician and how you fell in love in a cupboard, but that still doesn't give the press any right to then hack your phone.

A person can share whatever they like, that doesn't take away their rights.

Very well said thank you!

You don’t need to derail this important thread with those comments though do you. It’s because Harry is doing something really important despite what it means for him personally, something that will benefit the whole country.

But it's not news. It's just more of the same. Harry was not and is not any sort of leader over this. Those came 12, 13 years ago when the first cases started.

“Harry was not and is not any sort of leader over this. Those came 12, 13 years ago when the first cases started.”

That is an astonishingly inaccurate statement to make.

Just because tabloid criminality has been so extensive and ongoing for decades does not change the fact that Harry is one who is leading the charge on this.

This truth cannot be changed by an obsessive need to denigrate Harry at every turn or an unwillingness to face reality.

Not a fan of Harry & imo it’s slight double standards but I wish him luck. The media power needs to be broken. I blame the DM in part for brexit.

@skullbabe & @MarshaMelrose have you heard of Lucinda Ellery? I have female pattern baldness & al thinking of trying there. Another client of my hairdresser recommended her.

I’ll try & find a link. Sorry for derail.

Thanks, Krasi. I'd be grateful for that.

Ah give it a rest MarshaMelrose

GO HARRY!

😂

Go Harry!!!

MarshaMelrose · 27/03/2023 22:27

Sorry, @KrasiTime . I should have read all the posts first. I'll look into that. Thanks. x

Roussette · 27/03/2023 22:29

Great post @VivienneDelacroix

And @JeanMalaga75 so agree. This isn't just for celebrities either. I think of Millie Dowler's parents, that false hope they were given, so so awful to go through that at the worst time ever

This court case is for everyone

KrasiTime · 27/03/2023 22:29

Welcome. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s cheap 😢 so will have to see.

I cannot believe that Sussex fans would stoop so low as to employ the tragedy of a different claimant to close down criticism of Harry.

It’s a joint claim together. This thread is about the trial which includes all of them including the Baroness. She attended today too. You’re a particularly unpleasant contributor on this thread deflecting from an important case. I’m sure it does annoy you to have it pointed out that other people are involved so derailing the thread is insulting them too. I’m not a Sussex fan. I’m anti the British monarchy so I find their support of it a turn off. I’m just not mean spirited and evil enough to hate on them 24/7 after they’ve clearly left the country because of their mental health. I’m a mental health advocate because I had a suicidal child and suffer from anxiety.

Thank you for sharing this powerful comment, @Whaeanui.💜

Plitvice · 27/03/2023 17:52

Perhaps your limited ability to deal with the actual facts makes you feel that way and project so frequently and emotively. That's why I rarely address your comments to me. In the absence of a block button that is the best I can do.

@Plitvice

I concur with @Whaeanui’s assessment.

Some comments do reflect deep seated irrational hate and aren’t worth the time it takes to read them. Like yourself, I would be using a block button at this very moment instead of writing this reply.

Just because tabloid criminality has been so extensive and ongoing for decades does not change the fact that Harry is one who is leading the charge on this.

This truth cannot be changed by an obsessive need to denigrate Harry at every turn or an unwillingness to face reality.

First of all, I have condemned hacking over and over again. Any newspaper or individual who has been involved in hacking deserves what they get. No sympathy.
Secondly, I have said that anyone, including Harry, who has had their phone hacked has had the privacy invaded, which is a horrible thing to happen to you, and they deserve their compensation and to se the perpetrators humbled.
Thirdly, most of these people involved in this action have already been through court cases in the past. There were leaders back in the day, people like Hugh Grant and Steve Coogan who galvanised this. Hacked Off was founded in 2011. Lawyers were then involved. There have been ongoing actions against other papers without Harrys involvement throughout the 2010s and 2020s. Harry really isn't leading the way on this, although he might be the biggest name involved today.
Fourthly, I feel no need to denigrate Harry at every turn. Indeed one of my first posts on this thread was to disagree that Harry was in this for the money. I have supported some things that Harry has done since leaving the RF. However, I won't support him for betraying private confidences. And if he wants to talk about people's personal appearances, I'll talk about his personal appearance. Ultimately, if I disagree with what he's said/done I'll criticise him. if I agree with what he's said/done, I'll support him. I'll admit, I am obsessive about that!

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 22:49

@PlanetLuna thank you 😊

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 22:51

I am obsessive about that! Yes indeed. Repeating over and over and over endlessly on the same totally unrelated thing that has nothing to do with the thread.

I replied to a poster that addressed me personally about what I'd said regarding the court case - which I believe is the title of the thread? Or what do you think the thread is about?

PlanetLuna · 27/03/2023 23:04

Whaeanui · 27/03/2023 18:27

Camilla & Charles have chosen instead to essentially merge with the tabloids by hiring Sun & Daily Fail editors onto their staff in the hopes of improving their image, especially Camilla’s. I it will ultimately backfire and simply tie Charles’ hands to protect himself, his sons, DILs, and grandchildren from press excesses in the future.

Yes, they decided I think, if you can’t beat them, join them. What is that guys name who used to be Williams head dude and then went to work for the tories, Simon? He’s still there… Simon Case? Something like that. Anyone seen his WhatsApp with Hancock? Awful man.

@Whaeanui @EdieLedwell
Yes! Simon Case (or the Fly as Harry called him because he’s always mired in shit!🪰) is such a villain. His statement given last week to the Commons privilege committee last week showed him covering his ass and tossing Boris Johnson under the bus. 🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰

I don't mean this to sound mean , but after watching that video, I was amazed at the size of his bald spot at the back! , I thought posters had said he had hair transplants?

🤣😂🤣

Harold looks thrilled to be in Court 😂

I took it all in, his familiar scowl, which had always been his default in dealings with me, his alarming baldness, more advanced than my own, his famous resemblance to Mummy which was fading with time, with age.

As Anderson Cooper said, this is just cutting. It's not attempting to reconcile their past and present. However, I'm happy to talk about his baldness in an honest way, if you prefer. That works just as well for me.

Thanks for finding that section.

After reading it again, I get what you’re saying. I still don’t see it as mocking.
William is still a good-looking guy, and he used to be famously stunning with a gorgeous mane of hair. I just see this as an honest reflection on both Harry and William’s transformations into adulthood, including both of their hair loss.

That reflection was relevant and set up the “how did we get here” format of the book. It wasn’t included as some kind of vindictive jab at his brother.

Ishouldbeoutside · 27/03/2023 23:27

Why is someone drawing him in court?

PlanetLuna · 27/03/2023 23:29

Rhondaa · 27/03/2023 18:57

Oh stop minimising fgs. Saying your parents 'were crap' is not in the same ball park as revealing your db is circumcised and actually quoting private conversations. He is like a tabloid reporter with his gossip and titbits.

That said we can agree that the papers do need to be held to account and that is good however we can also say Harold The Privacy Invader is a right hypocrite at the same time.

Did you actually read Spare?

jeffgoldblum · 27/03/2023 23:33

Ishouldbeoutside · 27/03/2023 23:27

Why is someone drawing him in court?

Yes all trials have official artists , did you not see Johnny depp v amber heard , Colleen Rooney v other? ( forget her name !) .

jeffgoldblum · 27/03/2023 23:34

@PlanetLuna , yes most of have read spare that's how we know what he said.

HeddaGarbled · 27/03/2023 23:36

I think of Millie Dowler's parents, that false hope they were given, so so awful to go through that at the worst time ever

Not the current case. Different media organisation.

Serenster · 27/03/2023 23:38

You can’t take photographs in court, but accredited artists are allowed to observe, then leave the courtroom and make quick sketches that are then published. They are ….of variable quality! (though obviously it’s not an easy job at all).

I read Spare. I have no hesitation in thinking it represented a massive betrayal of trust by Harry of the confidential and private information that he only had because he was formerly a close and trusted family member. The fact that he also expressly said that none of it might be terribly accurate, while making several damning allegations and recounting several conversations as if they were verbatim was i also thought a really unfair thing to do.
