It doesn't take that long to have your case heard. It is obvious that somebody has encouraged him to get litigious in the last three years which is very much in keeping with the Angeleno showbizzy mindset.

So you don't agree with having against ANL who hack phones. Okeydoke. Got you

You ought to let the others involved in this case know that too. It isn't just him you know

Rhondaa · 27/03/2023 10:56

Not a fan of Harold but agree with him here.

That said he's been such a hypocritical arse in recent months it is hard to have any sympathy. He was hacked, that is of course bad. He reveals private info about his brother's genitals in his book? that's ok on planet Markle 🤔.

Roussette · 27/03/2023 10:57

Badger1970 · 27/03/2023 10:54

I truly am sick of the sight of this man.

Why in god's name are you commenting on him on a forum and looking at pictures of him then?

There's a celeb I can't stand who I haven't read about or looked at for years and he is well known.

It is easy to avoid you know

Roussette · 27/03/2023 10:54

What mad publicist? No idea what you are actually talking about.

Ok Meghan 👍🏻

Hypocritical. He could have told his story but leave private info from others out of it.

These are separate actions. I do admire those who are standing up as a matter of principle like Cheryl.
If there is any sign that they are doing it for publicity or money (and there are massive ones here) then , I don't have a high opinion of them jumping on the bandwagon.
With Harry and Meghan, the ravenous hunger for money and power always seems to be the common denominator underlying their activism and philanthropy.

Well don't look then you are your own agent of despair in this matter. Haters gonna hate whatever he does ...

'He could have told his story but leave private info from others out of it.'

Exactly. He should object to all invasions of privacy. Surely to sue when it's a newspaper but do it himself when he's earning loads with his grubby book is just raging hypocrisy. He'll never see it, his head is too far up his own arse.

Rhondaa · 27/03/2023 11:05

'Haters gonna hate whatever he does ...'

Or, Critics 'gonna' criticise when it's one rule for him and another for anyone else.

Roussette · 27/03/2023 11:06

Just so everyone is informed because they appear not to be...

Here are the other high profile people in this case...

Sir Elton John and David Furnish
Liz Hurley
Sadie Frost
Sir Simon Hughes
Baroness Doreen Lawrence (Mum to Stephen)
Ian Wright
Cheryl
Estate of George Michael

They allege ANL hired private investigators to put secret listening devices in their homes and cars and impersonated individuals to gain access to confidential medical information about them.Other allegations include that people were paid to listen in on live telephone calls and record them, that bank accounts and other financial information were "accessed through illicit means and manipulation".

Just for context that this is not all Harry, much as some would wish it to be.

Do you honestly think Harry is doing this for the money? As are all the other names?

What a crass thing to say. It is holding ANL to account for HACKING

Plitvice · 27/03/2023 11:10

All the others in the list have made it in their own right and do not need to court publicity or magic up millions for a lifestyle beyond their means. That is the difference.

If he was doing it for the money he would have taken the payout like lots did.

I despair, I honestly do.

Do you have access to their bank accounts to know they are living beyond their means? What a ridiculous thing to assert.

Go Harry!

The chinless wonder strikes again. Wouldn't it be great if he actually had a personality and identity not carved out by his wife and they were actually capable of being respected for their opinions and possessed the ability to make positive changes? Instead, we have power and media exposure being given over to clowns.

<marvels at the respect @Plitvice gets for further clogging the internet with their insightful opinions>

<excited about the positive changes @Plitvice has in store for the world. Just as soon as @Plitvice stops bitching on Mumsnet.>

704703hey · 27/03/2023 11:16

I'm not keen on Harry but am behind him on this.

It's despicable.

Plitvice · 27/03/2023 11:17

😀There is a greater value to getting your face on the front of the papers and generating money through celebrity than quietly accepting a small payout and disappearing. That would never do.
Incidentally, what do you think about the fact that William and Kate have risen above it all, even though they were targeted far more than Harry?

You really must tell Baronness Lawrence that too. How dare she fight this case. She should've taken the 'small payout' (it wasn't 'small' by the way) and disappeared. Awful of her to be part of this, you must let her know

W&K are part of the Royal machine and would never go to court.

Yes it must be absolutely awful to have private information and private conversations published. Just appalling.

That's a really cheap shot. We have a group of people with principles and a singular person with motives. It obviously goes above your head.

Plitvice · 27/03/2023 11:23

mixed motives

You are singling out one person in a case involving many. That obviously goes above your head

His 'motives' have always been to hold the press to account. It's what he's talked about for a long time. I doubt you have missed that, given you follow his every move ready to criticise.

Go Harry!

WinnieTheW0rm · 27/03/2023 11:26

He was hacked 6 times or so around 2005. (Kate around 160 times, William around 20 times). Why sue now? It's so long ago. Or is it about something else.

It's not just him who is suing.

And the group is suing because it is wrong for it to have happened at all

My guess is they want to make the aftermath as stressful and as expensive as possible for the media who engaged in those tactics, plus keep how deplorable it is in the public eye for as long as possible. So that people aren't tempted to go down that route ever again

This.

His outrage at his privacy being invaded is laughable - it’s a pity he didn’t apply the same standards when it came to invading the privacy of others for his book.

Plitvice · 27/03/2023 11:31

Harry is undermining the case, not helping it in view of his hypocrisy.

Howsimplywonderful · 27/03/2023 11:31

Imagine having your personal conversations published, probably even worse when it was someone you trusted - but enough about Harry and back to the court case.

i’m no fan of ANL and their tactics so will follow with interest.

I do remember Nigella having US entry issues after discussing her drug taking in a court case so we will have to see what happens
