Sussex's snubbed on both sides of the Atlantic

Harry and Meghan will be invited to the coronation - by necessity - but this toxic pair will be kept at a careful arm's length by all and sundry, excluded from the balcony or carriage procession, and probably positioned somewhere suitably inconspicuous. Most of the family will be wary of them, most will wherever possible avoid them and the crowds will likely boo them. There will be no lucrative photo ops with William or Kate. The Wales children will be in the limelight, but Harry and Meghan's children will be excluded, due to age.

Meanwhile, over in the States, where they no doubt expected to be feted when they planned their dramatic departure from the UK, opinion polls reveal them to be less popular now than even Prince Andrew. South Park mocked them to general acclaim and The Cut published a contemptuous piece about the possible relaunch of the Tig last week.

They've been snubbed and excluded from every big social event, from the Met Gala to Obama's birthday party and Elton John's Oscar's bash. The only parties they have attended have been those hosted by social pariahs like Ellen de Generes.

They are coming across as increasingly desperate and embarrassing. It's hard to to see any possible comeback from here.

When people twist goodness into something ugly, it's no wonder she had to escape.

@Roussette see what happened. @milti @Howsimplywonderful FYI

Awww the little lad with the sunflowers, so sweet

milti · 20/03/2023 09:08

@michaelmacrae you do realise they are part of that royal family you are criticising? Harry affirmed his absolute support for the monarchy

Yes he did say he supported the monarchy. Yet he still got called a hypocrite for asserting his children's birthrights.

A poster tried to claim Meghan was unpleasant in an interaction, you agreed saying you saw a flashing look. I showed you the person who gave her flowers correcting that lie, that Meghan was trying to be helpful, now it's please stop tagging me.

It was such a lovely interaction, people just looking for any reason to hate is cruel. I'm glad the man spoke up.

Plitvice · 20/03/2023 11:01

The ability to tactfully handle criticism and constantly produce neat patchworks of retweets to prove points are professional skills highly prized by PR agencies. Have you ever considered it as a career @tatalan ? 😉

Nah, I can't stand lies. Genuine criticism is genuine criticism but to claim Meghan was unpleasant when she was trying to be helpful to folks and laying flowers on their behalf angers me. I remember Meghan trending and getting hate for it in real time and it was ugly.

Roussette · 20/03/2023 11:07

Ahhhh Suella has invited James O'Brien and all of us to visit Rwanda so we can all see what a beautiful country it is for 'refugees' (not illegal immigrants, they are just called that in the UK). Okey doke....

tatalan · 20/03/2023 11:07

Another reason I hope Harry and Meghan do not attend the coronation. God forbid Meghan shakes a hand and some Mumsnet poster will see a flashing look 😶

Roussette · 20/03/2023 11:07

Oooops wrong thread!

I think you are showing the wrong clip and a different aide?

The one people are referring to is the one Scobie originally posted on his Twitter which wasn't that one.

milti · 20/03/2023 11:31

Bollocks - she turned round with a snarl - and then checked herself - same day she was staggering around

Snarl? And they'll say it's not racism - where exactly is the snarl here? she's indicating that she'll keep it to lay, then says thank you, appreciate it towards the end. By Gods, I'm glad she left.

This clip?

What's the issue? The aide wants the flowers, Meghan indicates she'll keep it to lay, says thank you, appreciate it at the end, then continues to greet people. Apparently she snarled at the man.

tatalan · 20/03/2023 11:41

@milti staggering? that's a new one, very much along the lines of another deranged twitter user accusing her of being a spy 😂

Roussette · 20/03/2023 11:50

What's with the staggering? Next minute there'll be posts saying she was drunk. Because that's what happens on here. Someone makes up some BS and then everyone piles in agreeing.

She didn't snarl.

More patronising nonsense, minds are already made up when it comes to H&M. A mumsnet thread changes nothing.

This true, from those like them and those who don't. Neither group looks likely to change minds. Hardly worth posting......yet we continue to do so

themessygarden · 20/03/2023 11:58

It is kind of ironic that some of the people complaining about an opening post like this one, are also some of the same people who complain that threads that have been started about another Royal, fail to get the traction they hoped for.

I thought I had seen the most outlandish ones, apparently her necklace was a spy camera 😂

That interaction made me personally believe the bullying claims could have truth in them.

Frankly, I think it's extremely shameful that the investigative report was buried. I'm sure there are whistleblowing laws that could cover those staffers should they choose to speak out.

VixenTodd · 20/03/2023 10:26

Thank you. I just love how they turn it into "large numbers of posters" or "only because of race".
If you are gonna put words in peoples mouths don't make it so bleeding obvious and why the need?
I don't serve them to give them what they demand but if they hand over Sussex pennies I might be swayed.

You clearly said “a lot of Meghan supporters on here”, which is obviously more than two. So how are we putting words in your mouth?

Still waiting for you to back up your nonsensical claim with evidence, which you are now notably quiet on.
