The royal family

Sussex's snubbed on both sides of the Atlantic

Harry and Meghan will be invited to the coronation - by necessity - but this toxic pair will be kept at a careful arm's length by all and sundry, excluded from the balcony or carriage procession, and probably positioned somewhere suitably inconspicuous. Most of the family will be wary of them, most will wherever possible avoid them and the crowds will likely boo them. There will be no lucrative photo ops with William or Kate. The Wales children will be in the limelight, but Harry and Meghan's children will be excluded, due to age.

Meanwhile, over in the States, where they no doubt expected to be feted when they planned their dramatic departure from the UK, opinion polls reveal them to be less popular now than even Prince Andrew. South Park mocked them to general acclaim and The Cut published a contemptuous piece about the possible relaunch of the Tig last week.

They've been snubbed and excluded from every big social event, from the Met Gala to Obama's birthday party and Elton John's Oscar's bash. The only parties they have attended have been those hosted by social pariahs like Ellen de Generes.

They are coming across as increasingly desperate and embarrassing. It's hard to to see any possible comeback from here.

You are going round accusing posters of all sorts of things. Continually.
If you feel so strongly as this, just contact MNHQ and report posters who you consider are either paid, are sock puppets, are Russian trolls, are troublemaking name changers, are part of some sort of Squad who are sent on to MN to post.

I'm not interested in stifling debate. I'm positing my observations - just like anyone else. I work in the industry. It's a basic matter of fact that all sorts of interests are trying to influence debates on fora like this. Pretending it doesn't happen is pointless.

Do you disagree that opinion polls have successively emphasized that Harry and Meghan are widely disliked?

You've previously mentioned that you subscribe to the Times - can you disagree with my contention that the overwhelming reaction in the comments space to articles about the Sussexes is negative?

No you are not. You are accusing well known posters of all sorts of things.

There you go again, making stuff up. I have NEVER said I subscribe to the Times. Never ever. Show me the post that says that. Because I don't.

If I want to read something negative about them to get balance, and it's the Times which I don't subscribe to, I archive it to read it. If you work in the industry, you will know about archiving.

The Times has always been negative and against them. From day one.

Apologies if I'm mistaken, I was sure you recently posted a sharetoken article from the Times?

I gave a rational, well though out response. Quite big of me considering the continual accusations. Yesterday the accusatory posts were deleted. And here we are again.

Why demand that such accusations be deleted, if they are as ridiculous as you maintain?

Because I, and others, object to being called Russian, a bot, a troll, paid to be here, and such like.

I don't accuse you of anything (I jolly well could!). Why should I or anyone accept unwarranted and unfounded accusations.

I accept your apology. I know nothing of share tokens. In fact when people post about share tokens, I don't know what they are talking about because I don't know what they are lol

I will repeat... I archive articles from newspapers where you have to subscribe.

Well thought out criticism where? all OP has done is claim that H&M are unpopular and snubbed on both sides of the Atlantic. It's clear they expected everyone to join in their circle-jerk of H&M hate and derision.

I scrolled through the numerous, manufactured threads about the working royals by fans of Meghan and Harry and decided to post some observations about them. Seems the truth hurts.

Can I ask. Are you persisting with these accusations?

Stop with 'the truth hurts' bollocks. You are accusing well known posters who've been here decades of being trolls.

Sorry - which 'well known posters' have I accused? I haven't named anyone - I merely commented on some general posting patterns on the Royal board which strike me as uncanny.

Well done on the backtracking. Obviously you realise you are on shaky ground.

So we agree then, there was no thought out criticism, you just felt the need to post observations for your amusement.

Yep. Observations that include .. threads started that are slightly not fawning over the RF are by paid trolls. Or Russians. Or Sussex Squad.
Ditto anyone who doesn't wipe the floor with H&M and treat them with complete derision and disgust.
All those posters... all of them.

What backtracking?

Anyway, I for one have an extremely busy and interesting life away from the mild diversion of this substandard debate. I'll leave you to it.

You did Roussette, and I didn't include your post in my criticism.
You don't accuse the "opposition" of needing a lie down, being haterz - or just typing an inarticulate line of caps, probably intended to be laughter.
They really don't do themselves or their heroes any favours

So glad you realise your thread is substandard. I agree with you on that.

But take away with you.... there is no co-ordinated manufactured dark forces group of trolls, some Russian, posting stuff you don't like.

We are just on a forum and don't agree with you. It's very simple.

Howsimplywonderful · 20/03/2023 08:38

@Roussette

Have you a proper source for the coronation costing (non tabloid or Republic)

Nothing I have said has come from Republic. Perhaps you could find something non tabloid and come back to me?

If you google 'cost of the Coronation' it comes up on Sky, Imdb, Nottingham Gazette, Metro, LBC, Cornwall Live and more.

You can google?

Howsimplywonderful · 20/03/2023 08:50

they are just repeating the tabloid stuff, unless you think Cornwall live has a man on the inside 🤔

Thanks but I’ll wait for different reports

Good. Do link it here when you find what you want and what is suitable for you.

milti · 20/03/2023 09:00

@susan12345678 is probably right - I would be surprised if there weren’t paid posters - I don’t think @Roussette is one of them. I read wide variety of news and it cannot be denied that the comments across the board are largely negative- they are not popular. Messing about with the ‘will they come or not?’wont help with that. They are lucky the royal family have invited them at all as they cannot be trusted. What has changed, is that people now see Harry for what he is instead of just blaming Meghan

You say opposition like there was any actual criticism. OP simply expected this thread to become a circle jerk of hatred based on his observations, when that failed to materialise, he accused posters of being paid shills.

They really don't do themselves or their heroes any favours

More patronising nonsense, minds are already made up when it comes to H&M. A mumsnet thread changes nothing.

StormzyinaTCup · 20/03/2023 09:02

The victim playing on this thread by the same one or two posters (and on other RF threads) gets very tedious.

michaelmacrae · 20/03/2023 09:03

@susan12345678 I know it's very hard for you to understand or accept, but Meghan and Harry DO have a lot of support with the public, in the UK, the US and globally. Not manufactured support, but actual.

We see the Royal family for who they are, unlikeable, uncharismatic, spoilt, dry, lazy individuals who NEED the media to prop up everything they do - and cut down any competition. They award themselves medals and titles - a system they invented to keep themselves admired by us, for doing what? Case in point: Kate becoming a colonel! That's the funniest thing I've heard in ages!

They have multiple homes - castles, palaces, mansions and cottages, thousands of acres of land, and yet still there is infighting between them over who gets what and who gets the biggest. And then they pay only lip service to the 'awww, poor little homeless people'. how sad.

They did NOTHING about the media's bullying of Meghan and Harry - especially of Meghan. Not even ONE statement to tell the press to back off. The RF did not defend or protect Meghan and did not care when she was suicidal. ALL of this whole situation with them leaving is the RF's fault in the first place. ALL of it. We see William "defend" a few footballer kids against racism yesterday, yet he did nothing to defend his own mixed-race niece and nephew, or sister in law. He didn't even write the letter to the FA himself, his private secretary did!

They are pompous, selfish, hypocritical, backstabbing, and obsessed with their own image and popularity. For example, what kind of parent throws his OWN SON under the bus to make himself - or his mistress - look better?

Harry's book has revealed a lot of the inner workings of the RF and some individuals in the media have also said they were allowed to write whatever rubbish about M&H they wanted, while protecting the others. And they did. The RF do dodgy deals with the media devils - this is no way for a respectable Royal family to operate.

Many of us are extremely disappointed that Harry and Meghan left. But we don't blame them for it, we blame the Royals and the media. Meghan has too much self-respect to just sit there and take it, and why should she. If she was a true gold-digger, as they call her, she would have stayed, but she didn't. And Harry stood by his wife and stands up for her, something that is greatly admired by a lot of us.

Face it - out of all of them, Harry had the personality, humour, and ability to get along with people, Meghan had the brains and the glamour. And they took them ALL with them when they left! 😆😆All that's left are a bunch of withered individuals still holding on to some fake notion of superiority and stolen wealth. And many of us see right through them. Does that help, Susan?

Are they legit and get a stamp of non troll approval too????

I can sleep at night now milti. I can post in comfort after MiltiApproval™️
🤣😮
I urge others to apply too!

P.s. paid on both sides then. Is the OP paid. The more she pushes this ridiculous scenario, the more I am thinking so!

milti · 20/03/2023 09:08

@michaelmacrae you do realise they are part of that royal family you are criticising? Harry affirmed his absolute support for the monarchy

milti · 20/03/2023 09:10

@Roussette i don’t know who has been on for decades. I’m sure the royal family may do the same but they are not very quick when it comes to these things - if they want to pay me, I’m in 😄

Negative comments aren't the end of the world. I will say that I take no notice of sites bombarded with hateful propaganda 24/7. Engagement is currency in today's world and that H&M have in spades, your tabloids are obsessed with them for a reason.

As for the coronation, I hope they give it a miss. The papers will make it all about them though, just like they did with Harry during Philip's memorial. A reporter even claimed Harry's absence was why the Queen chose to be escorted by her [accused rapist] son. Sick.

The royal reporters can't fathom Harry's absence - even the ones that loathe him, Meghan is just a detail apparently. I hope he gives them a shock.
