Do you all find Charles, Camilla, William and Kate boring?

I am genuinely interested, Because every single post I have seen about one of these four ends up getting derailed by Harry and Meghan.
Try it. Post about one of them and within a small number of posts people will be talking about Harry and Meghan. It happens again and again and again.
So do find these 4 really boring then? Or are you just so fascinated about Harry and Meghan you want to talk about them whenever you can?

Camilla has always struck me as looking after number one and her children first. She got a trust fund set up for her children by Charles BEFORE marrying him.
I predict her kids will get more in the coming years whether houses owned by the Crown Estate or titles, or a mixture of both.

Why, ofcourse they will. That goes without saying.

They will need 'automatic security on palace grounds' when Camilla gets her coronation as queen.

Then, naturally, that leads to some kind of titles and patronages, surely.

No idea how a woman suddenly got turned into a man (seems like a heavily set man too according to MN)

Sorry, I don't know why I found that funny. But I did! 🤣🤣🤣

MN at its best! That man was a giant lol

😂😂😂😂

Also I don't recall mentioning a 6ft tall rugby player I assumed that it was a royal driver!

The thing that most tickles me is the attitude that Oprah happened so long ago, why is it still mentioned? But the same posters are happy to dredge up 30 year old events and phone hackings that were hashed out repeatedly over decades already.

I just found forum posts from 17 years ago with this exact conversation.

They're very bland. But then Queen was too.. why do we expect anything else?

We like that the Royals are not wild and outlandish. They are stable, reliable, dutiful. When the late Queen said, in her Xmas broadcast in the middle of the pandemic, "We shall meet again", people were comforted and believed her because she was there,as always, cool calm and collected.
Harry was the playboy type but would never be king so that was OK. Much like the Duke if Windsor, in fact. He abdicated and remained a thorn in the side of King George but was puzzled to the end of his day's that the people admired George and not him, the glamour boy of the monarchy.
George was trustworthy and reliable, not glam or dazzling, a family man, a keeper of the country's morale in the war.

purpledalmation · 11/03/2023 20:36

I wouldn't say boring as in boring like the politicians.

milveycrohn · 12/03/2023 07:09

If I were one of them, I would go out of my way to be as boring and uncontroversial as possible.

Oh please - Mrs Parker Bowles left the scene of the accident to use her mobile telephone to call the ambulance service and police from a nearby hill.

That's not what she told the police:

Mrs Parker Bowles told the police she had not remained at the scene of the accident or exchanged details with the other driver, as required by law, because she was concerned about the security risk.

Her first thought was to save herself first, before calling for help for the other person.

I don’t find them boring at all. They seem genuinely happy, have lovely children and are great role models. Unlike M&H who sadly are completely messed up. I knew someone who met Charles several times and thought he was lovely and great fun.

user1492757084 · 17/03/2023 14:01

Not boring but familiar. My friends and I are conservative and 'boring'.

Consistent, reassuring, sincere, interested, polite, friendly, uplifting, respectful and knowledgeable.

JeanMalaga75 · 17/03/2023 23:37

Royals are supposed to be boring and go about their work dutifully and respectfully, they are not supposed to be celebrities even though the horrible British tabloids treat them as such.

LikeTearsInRain · 17/03/2023 23:45

Yep very boring all of them

SnuggleBuggleBoo · 17/03/2023 23:51

Yup, they're all boring. I've met them all. I reckon they should all abdicate in favour of either Charlotte or Louis.

EdithWeston · 18/03/2023 06:39

George cannot to abdicate before he is 18.

Who do you fancy as his Regent for the next decade?

PortiasBiscuit · 18/03/2023 06:47

I do not know Charles etc. They are probably charming.
I find people that bang on about them extremely tedious.

Viviennemary · 18/03/2023 10:29

No I don't think they are boring as such but there isn't much to say about them. Plenty to say about H& M though and they've plenty to say about the other royals and us.

mixedrecycling · 18/03/2023 17:58

Surely constitutional monarchs (and their heirs) should be boring?

Reliable, predictable, do as they are told by the elected government etc understand their role is symbolic and representative, not because of any special quality or beliefs of their own?

VixenTodd · 18/03/2023 18:59

Obsessive to bring it up again twenty years later. The stanz who spread silly tales about George being gay is worse. WTAF would you say that about a small child?

VixenTodd · 18/03/2023 19:01

There is one Sussex obsessive on the page who always says mean things about Kate's kids and backtracks and shouts it all down a minute afterwards.

FredandAmy · 18/03/2023 19:05

Personally I find William and Kate very likeable.

By ‘boring’ do you mean that they fulfil their roles and diligently perform their duties without fanfare and fuss?

Well... that is appalling. Not sure anyone I agree with says that?

He's a little lad and doesn't deserve that

entirelyesspresso · 18/03/2023 21:40

No I really like them, especially W & K, I am looking forward to the coronation and seeing the royal children and Camilla's grandchildren involved.

I think Charles will make the role his own and I like what I see so far.

H & M who?

michaelmacrae · 18/03/2023 22:38

They are dry as toast. Which would be fine if they just stuck to their duties. But they are so obsessed with their own popularity that they throw each other under the bus. Nice family.

Houseplantjungle · 18/03/2023 23:12

No, I don’t find them boring. The entire coronation is in danger of being derailed by H&M though because the ‘will they won’t they attend’ theme is the dominating story and overshadowing what could be a wonderful moment in history to witness. It’s all that’s talked about. Will Charles put family or monarchy first? That’s what I’m wondering. I’ll be a bit disappointed if he lets himself be manipulated.

How so? What do you mean by throw each other under the bus?
